Thanks for making this video. I drive the 503 replacement bus so the route looks very familiar although we only go to York St then around the block via Richmond and University for the return trip across King. I wish I could go at 10X like you do!!
This is youtube and email style stuff doesn't make sense but: on your website, the 996 Wilson express does not say "via york mills" It only says to Ellesmere stations or Humber college, no via's
A good questoin. All routes now operate under pantograph, so there is no active trackage that can only be operated with a trolley pole. I believe some non-revenue trackage remain trolley-pole only, but I'm not sure where. As for when they'll get rid of the trolley poles, that may not be happening. The first of the new batch of 60 recently entered service, operatng under pantograph, but with the trolley pole available as a backup. I don't know if they plan to get rid of the poles once the remaining pole-only wiring is removed, or if they will be keeping them as backup. There are some sections which are pantograph only, so perhaps the poles will disappear once the heritage vehicles (PCC, Witt, etc) are conerted to panto operation, suggesting that the entire system is pole-wire free.

How much longer will it be before they can remove the poles?

@@transittoronto it would be interesting to see the heritage fleet with pantographs...
