They're a bloody nuisance on the road. Slow, they take up an entire lane on their own, and when they are picking up a d dropping off passengers they block the road entirely in one direction. You're either on one, or stuck behind one.
@@eat_a_dick_trudeaucan tell you don’t like public transport anyways, you can’t complain when that legacy century old system has been more efficient transporting people than your car.
It takes this streetcar under half an hour on a clear road and over an hour when roads are crowded when it takes 5 - 10 minutes on a Trina consistently through the day from broadview to vict park trust me these streetcars are slow it took me 2 hours to go from Vict park to dundas west on 503 to 504 when it takes like 20 - 30 minutes on a train
The two routes are doing roughly the same thing at the east end, but at the west, 503 is proving to be more useful as it supplements the busier King service. Also, 502 Downtowner can’t currently access McCaul loop due to track work. When the TTC gets more streetcars, the hope is to take 503 to Dufferin loop and split 501 into Neville to Sunnyside and Long Branch to Broadview (new loop to be installed).
Is there transit priority signaling along here? I noticed the light at Main Street went red and then instantly back to green after the streetcar doors closed.
LOL, that's why all iPhone users should carry a power bank. I have an Android phone and I have one. My friend has one for her iPhone. Beats having to look for an outlet and being tethered to a wall.
Well, this is exactly the same footage as was used on the Timelapse video. I did try to correct for the tilt more strongly, but again we did have to place the camera to the right of the centre of the cab so as not be in the way of the driver's view.
Great video.
Wish we had streetcars like this in Philadelphia
I was gonna be mean but then I remembered I was a nice person soooooo…..

& Septa ordered new Trolley cars.
23:41 what are they doinggggggg
I was wondering the same thing
Why 502 phased out?

@@transittoronto hmmmm
That car trying to parallel park was just to much to watch!!
How about filming the 510 next
It's not through the cab, but we have done a 510 Spadina Ride Along, with commentary, here: ua-cam.com/video/uuwHnqkx3ds/v-deo.html
I see the line hadn't yet been converted to pantograph collection...
Not at the time this video was filmed, but this was over a year ago. It's now fully under the pantograph.
@@transittoronto what is with the disconnected track at @43:51?

That quick switch is the result of a film edit, I’m afraid. There is transit priority switches on Queen and, of course, the King Street Transitway.
The TTC has done a lousy job of implementing signal priority. I'm not sure the new Eglinton Crosstown will even have it.
@@leehaberEglinton crosstown yes, streetcars no

Slightly off center again 😞
