Finally someone finally reviewed this thing. Been using it since Field Day last year. Shargeek is a bit hard to get a hold of, but if you are patient they will eventually respond. I had recieved a dead unit. Took me a week and half to get a new unit. Love this thing. Use it with my computer and my X6100. And I have to pull it out now. Phone's about to die.

Really appreciate the feedback and glad to get some confirmation from another ham using it. I'm tempted to buy a second one.

@@brickerhausI would watch reviews before doing such. It isn't actually that great.

Watch directly on the Shargeek and Amazon sites; they both sometimes put this on sale. It is a little marvel.

Great review and demo! Looks like a useful bit of kit for lower power portable ops.

It's amazing. Expensive, but amazing. I still have the dead one they sent me first. Been wanting to get out the O-scope and figure out what is dead but....ain't got no time for that.

Great video! What cable are you using for the FX4CR? Is the dc barrel connector 2.5mm? And are you using an inline fuse with the cable? Thanks!

Here is the cable I use: amzn.to/3t79elE Yes, it is 2.5mm and no inline fuse. Based on the protection built into the Shargeek I don't feel the fuse is necessary. My logic is I'm plugging my $1,400 iPhone and $1,200 laptop into the Shargeek without an inline fuse...so why the radio. I know its counter what we've been taught with our radios, but that's my logic.

Mine came pre-broken and I found it impossible to return.

Yikes, that's terrible! I hope you were able to work with your credit card company to deny the payment. Was is from Amazon, or direct from Shargeek?
