- Is this the new best monitor setup for gaming? The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 monitor is an AI-powered 32-inch 4K, 16:9 gaming monitor with up to 0.03ms of input latency on a 240Hz refresh rate screen. While it may not use fancy tandem OLED tech as seen in the Apple iPad Pro, it does come equipped with OLED Glare-Free technology, which reduces reflections to ensure you get the most out of your OLED panel. So should this make your list of what monitor to buy for gaming?

Excited to see what Samsung's new OLED lineup brings to the table this year
I would have preferred for it to be glossy but i dont care enough this monitor is just much better looking and cooler to me, waiting for it come and cant wait to watch a ton on it
I totally understand why gamers tend to like glossy displays as they pop in such a nice way. Coming from doing a lot of photo editing for print for many years, i think my taste has always leaned more towards matte displays. To my eye it looks more like the real world in a sense.
I’m currently testing both this and the Alienware.
Glossy does pop a little bit more - but the matte of this monitor isn’t bad (and helps protect against eye strain from productivity).
In perfect dark environments - really can’t tell the difference between them
I just bought this monitor yesterday soley to play mlb the show competitively. I'll start by saying I like the monitor. I did have some weird white dots all over my screen after playing mlb for about 3 hours. I turned Mlb off, and when I tried to play Madden, the whole field had these little white dots for a few seconds, then it was normal..? I played for like 20 more minutes before turning off the monitor and doing a pixel refresh.
Does the silver lining bother you? I think I always have had black edges on my screens, but I guess I could get used to silver.
Thinking about getting this for mlb the show and ncaa college football nba 2k and black ops 6
When is this going up for sale in the U.K.?
Ship from August 9th. You can pre-order now and get £350 off if ordered before July 1st.
@@pinqwaferhow do you get £350 off? Only see 20% off on app plus 5% first time which is about £250 discount in total
Why no native G-sync?
maybe in next firmware...
Is the Samsung G8 monitor matte or glossy? because g6 is matte. 🤔🤔🤔
Matte.
$1,300 is a bit steep for a 32" monitor, I'd say, even given the tech. That said...I'd happily pay that much and a bit more (well, not "happily") for a glare free TV or at least 55"-60." I'm constantly fighting glare and am often fighting with either daylight....as I try to avoid closing the living room curtains....or our lamps at night.
do all gamers like to sit in a dungeon?
Depending on how in the dungeon with me.. she hot ?
I do! 🙋😁
Yea, but you can invite me to sit on your living room anytime
No excitement for this i see. Also when it comes to burn in Safeguard+ wont cut it and wont stop image retention with enough of it will cause burn in.
Someone im sure will put the safe guard + to the test @ its full limits and this will still have burn in Like safeguard+ might help for it not to burn in as soon as it normal would but i think its just a band aid. Not anything that will 100% stop it from happening just it might take a little longer
by his lack of enthusiasm on matte coating, safe to say it is garbage, glossy wins
I closed the video at 0:13 when you said AI powered which is false. Smart TV apps have AI upscale that nobody will ever use.
Can confirm, ALL GAMERS DON'T LIKE MATTE SCREENS.
Yes, especially in horror games, where it's so nice to see reflections of your own room or even the blinky shit of controllers. So immersive 🙄
