- Опубліковано 14 сер 2024
- Cream Soda made with Fig Leaf is the secret for the best Highball! Fig leaves have a mild, slightly sweet flavor, with subtle notes of vanilla and coconut, so today I’ll show you how to turn them into a delicious creamy soda, and use that for a highball that’s perfect for the end of the summer. We’ll then pair it with Irish whiskey and dry vermouth, for a perfectly balanced cocktail that will for sure catch your guests’ eye. That’s why I’ll teach you how to make both a single serving, as well as a batched version for your next party or event, so if you’re ready pull up a chair and get comfortable. It’s Cocktail Time!

No matter how much hard work your cocktails take, I always end up making them! That's a testament to how wonderful your channel is. By the way, there's a wonderful video on milk clarification called "Make Clarified Cocktails The Fast & EASY Way! [Reverse Engineered Milk" by the channel Vintage American Cocktails. He uses rennet and calcium chloride to "depasteurise" the milk and claims that the clarification process is much much faster this way, getting 1.5L of punch in just an hour of filtering. Would love to see this method tested on your channel.
Omg, you're my discovery of the month!
There's a fig tree just near me that's coming into fruit and new leaves so I'm definitely trying this ⛲
I quite enjoy fig leaf tea, and this recipe makes me very excited.
Definitely need to try this one out. Thanks for the recipe.
Cheers! ⛲
Awesome vid Kevin!
I recently made a tequila based fig leaf liquor, sooo good.
I live on a region full of fig trees.
Best time of year to pick up those leaves is late spring (end of may/beginning of June). It's the moment before the buds grow and take all the flavors away from the leaves.
When the fruit start to grow you gradually lose more and more flavor.
Don’t leaf 🍃! Let’s fig-gure out which episode to watch next!
⛲️ inspiring video Kevin. I love the idea of using foraged ingredients in drinks. I currently have elderflower champagne fermenting under my stairs from some trees at the end of my street - The same trees my grandfather foraged from to make his decades ago. I was unaware that you could use fig leaves like this however. I'm now interested in finding one near me to try this out!
Thanks for the mention @KevinKos
⛲ Thanks Kevin. My wife and I love learning from your videos. I know what I'm making for my birthday today.🥳⛲
Happy birthday, Michael! Enjoy the cocktails 😉
The recipe for the Fig Cordial is phenomenal! This cocktail is a great in between seasons recipe and can't wait to try it out!
C︎heers! ⛲︎
Recently came up with a fig leaf cocktail myself. A Blueberry and fig leaf daiquiri, it’s so good!
Infused blueberries into Havana club 3y (sous vide for about 2h) and made a fig leaf simple syrup simply by cooking the syrup and fig leaves on low for a couple of minutes and letting everything steep for an hour. That’s it, you use all the stuff to make a classic daiquiri (or use a full 30ml of the simple syrup if your blueberries were tart). Amazing cocktail 😮💨
Sounds delicious! Thank you for sharing!
@@KevinKos hehe hvala! figa in pa tudi figov list ki ima okus po kokosu cudovito pase skupaj z borovnico 🤌🏻
Great Episode! Hitting all the points for me. I've been into High Balls lately. I've got fig leaves and no figs. I love Darcy and the he deserves so much more attention. Now I want the smaller carbonate.
⛲⛲
glad you like it! Cheers!
As much as I love carbonating with an actual CO2 tank, the isi twist and sparkle looks like it might be a better solution for me.
⛲️⛲️⛲️ thank you so much! Looking forward to making this at our Christmas party!
Cheers
Ha! I was literally just wondering why we didn’t use lactic acid for milk washing. Great call
No fig 🍃 near me, so I'd love a suggested recipe for making the soda out of the Liber & Co syrup! ⛲
If I had access to fig leaves I'd surely try to make it! At this point it's posticipated to the next year near home, I'm extremely curious!
Don't forget to try this next year! Cheers!
⛲ that soda maker seems great, I'd like to see more soda creative recipes to make mocktails, seems fun.
cheers!
My fig trees are a few weeks from dropping their leaves, this looks like a great use for them!
enjoy crafting fig leaf drinks! Cheers!
⛲ greenspot is one of my fav's
I love it!
Hmmm, I don't have a good source of fig leaves here. I'll come back to this when I find some. Thanks Kevin! ⛲
Awesome work...🎉🎉❤
⛲ thanks for the recipe!
My pleasure 😊
Hi Kevin, i would love to see how i can use cedar wood in a syrup or as an parfum, please make a video about. Thank you for all your inspiration
thank you for the suggestion.
Next time Try kaffir leaves cream soda sir👌🏼
⛲ the twist and sparkle looks pretty cool ⛲
it is cool indeed!
Just yesterday, I noticed all the leaves on my fig tree. Thanks for the fig leaf syrup idea. 🍃 ⛲️
cheers!
Hello Kevin, I love your videos and there are the basics of my mixology now ( like books).
I am having some trouble to find the lactic acid in powder as you use. Could you help out ? Is it okay the lactic acid vegan powder that is suggested by a UK website ?
Amazing! So much knowleg in 7min🙌
Glad it was helpful!
Can i ask some think ? What about the rate of citric acid on cordial ? I heard that 3gram of citric acid should be mixed with 100ml of juice ?
Where can i buy the super large coffee filter that you have?
I’d really to know how you land on the lactic acid / similar chemicals number. Where can I read more about this?
⛲️ cool info thanks
homie is making michelin starred drinks
⛲ I love figs so I'll definitely be trying this. Thank you Kevin! Cheers.
Cheers!
Hi Kevin, I've always wanted a copy of Fix The Pumps but I can't seem to see a way of getting it in the UK, how did you get yours?
have you checked on Amazon? Check out the link in my description. Cheers!
Cheers! ⛲️
I'm not really sure about the syrup as a replacement. You said that the leaves are mildly sweet and have a slight taste of vanilla and coconut. The description on the bottle of the syrup says that the caramelisation brings out honey and dried fruit taste. Do you have any other alternative recommendations? I've heard that clarification is also possible with coconut milk. Would that work if I also added a dash of vanilla?
Yes, you are right, it's not a replacement for a cordial, but for a fig taste. You won't get simmilar taste to this drink, but it's a nice fig syrup to work with. Clarification is also possible with coconut milk (or other nut milks) indeed. Vanilla extract sounds like a great idea!
⛲ I have a weird video idea/request (?) Not sure if you like perfumes but can you made some perfume inspired cocktails?
Interesting idea! Thank you!
⛲ you forgot to mention fig leaves are also used for underware...😆🤣
hahaha true!
Love your videos man! Have you tried incorporating leather or incense into a drink?
Not yet but thank you for the idea!
