I own a stainless steel automatic Orient purchased in the 80s. It works just fine after 30 years. I doubt that any other watch company today which sales at this price point are building such resistant and reliable watches. This is by far the best brand for automatic watches on a budget, directly competing with big swiss names!
I appreciate my Bambino. Great for daily wear (business casual),on my 7.25 in wrists. I think I'd prefer a 36-38 mm for formal wear. Orient makes handsome watches. The factory stars are ok but the watch really pops after a quick strap upgrade.
Nice pickup! I got an Orient Bambino v2 (white/rose gold) for Christmas and its a stunningly classy watch. Just great design and details for the price point. The watch strap is indeed stiff and plasticky so will probably swap out at some point. I too was worried about the 40mm size until I wore it on my 7” wrists-no issues at all. Looking forward to exploring more from the brand.
Hey jon Incidentally I just got my orient sun and moon open heart yesterday (yes, I am one of the rarer kinds who like open hearts) and I have to say that definitely the pictures do not do orient watches justice. The guilloche and multi layered dial is absolutely stunning, and the "open heart" feature is well done - it is polished to a high shine and the edges are ever so gently rounded giving it an unbeatable value at its price point. At 42mm diameter and 14mm thick - yes, it is big for a dress watch but it wasn't as big as I expected it to be. Dress watches can be dressed down a lot and I rarely wear a suit so this is not a big concern for me. Only complaint is that the strap is crap (butterfly clasp is nice) it was really hard and hurt to wear but I hope it will soften. Thanks for your video, now I may end up getting a stella as well haha
I really enjoy my open heart Orient bambino with the blue dial, the strap was definitely the weak spot. Looks sharp on the wrist as a dress watch. I think I paid about $140 at Long Island Watch on sale.
I'm new to wristwatches in general, so be gentle, but I'm a bit confused here. Nothing pops up when I search Orient Stella. I see an Orient Stela, but even then, only one entry pops up on google. I'd really like to buy this watch, but....where is it?
Very nice. Most watches I buy are skeletonized. I dig this one. Probably a bit small for me though I might check out the other one you were talking about.
FDB0A002W0 - The "Stella" has been around for a while, but they didn't call it that. The one I ordered was actually a women's watch...same dial, same case, open heart, etc. It's been around a few years but it's funny that they are advertising the Stella as a men's watch now. This Stella is like a "2nd generation" version of the watch that I bought a year ago, but the one I have is actually a mother of pearl dial. My only gripe is that it has a 17mm lug width (just like the Stella)...HATE IT. 18mm would've been perfect. You should check it out if you're not too concerned about hacking/hand winding. Just go to eBay and type in "Open Heart Orient Women's"...they have a tone of different models...including ones with ballerinas, LOL.
@@The_Kavalier If you want an open heart watch from Orient try this one: FDB05001D It's a great size at 38mm, 20mm lug width, with a Sapphire crystal at around $160! No hacking/hand winding, but there is a small window near 3 oclock that shows you the stem being turned, which I thought was a great touch.
If you don’t already, you should subscribe to Watchfinder & Co. They go into the nuts & bolts of why watches cost what they do between the brands. They had a good one comparing Omega to Patek Phillipe
Hey man really loves your channel, i really wanna buy this watch but it seems that there is no way i can find a way to make a purchase for it in India. If u can help me out to find a way to find this watch in India it will be really greatfull. Anyways love from India♥️♥️
I’ve suggested Roamer watches before, and after checking their website you were surprised by the quality and the history of the brand, but it seems that you forgot about them with all the things you got going on!
"It is a 30m WR so I wanna be very careful with water on this"... Yes be very careful not to accidentally dive at a depth of 31 meters :D People are too cautious with their interpretations of water resistance! Anyway this is not the kind of watch that you would go swimming with. 30 meters is actually more than you will ever need with this watch.
I kinda chortled at that. Even most (recreational) scuba divers might do around 10M but most of us don't think about our watches taking showers and water sports.
Great review, Jon! Never been a big skeleton and open heart watch guy but I enjoy this one.
Any chance we might get your take/review on this watch?
a trick: watch series on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching loads of movies these days.
@Nico Liam Yea, have been using flixzone} for since december myself =)
@Nico Liam yea, been watching on flixzone} for since november myself :D
@Nico Liam definitely, I've been using flixzone} for years myself :D
What an amazing watch for $200. Kind of reminds me of a DJ or OP with the small but slightly thick case. Very nice!
It's great to see more from Orient than the Bambino or Mako.
Yes that’s why I liked the Stella so much. A nice change!
Thank you for reviewing the Stella, there's not many reviews on UA-cam for this watch, and I just bought one for my Nephew's 15th birthday.
Great video Jon, will have to try this one soon!
Orient has a lot of value in their lower price points. Aside from an in-house movement you’re getting pure class.

I wish Orient would make a 36mm Bambino...that would be the perfect sub $200 dress watch.
Me too.
Same here w/slim wrists.
They are. V5 36 mm dropping in the US around November
sharpshooterman442 is that news real??
@@Amr5herifelhareef Yessir. Just message the Orient US instagram page and theyll let you know whats up
You just had to show me this now I’m missing 200$
$130 for the Orient now! Will definitely be buying

Beautiful watch, great size, but too thick for my taste, this watch is over 12mm thick, and I like my dress watches 10mm or under

The only orient stela review on yt.
Orient offers a 36 mm bambino version if you're interested. Thinking about getting one for myself.
LOVE my Orient!! Great pickup Jon 🔥
Stunning!

The Bambino is a bit bigger than I prefer, but the Bambino cured me of my watch collection hobby. It's almost the perfect watch.

What’s ur wrist size? How’s d movement accuracy in keeping time?
Check out Christopher Ward! Pretty incredible British brand
I dunno what's with orient and weirdo strap widths. They did that to the Bambino pre v4 with the 21mm.
Almost a dealbreaker imo.
Nice review! Would you consider it a dress watch that can be worn with suits?
Yes totally. I’d more formal with a black strap though.
Do you know where could I find the stella? It seems to be out of stock in everywhere
I would love to see a review of a Stowa Flieger!
Yeah would love to see more watches on the channel
My favorite Patek Philippe !
Seiko has a new one similar to that ome
Hi can u do thr black versipn of this? Nice video, articulate one
Is it for women or men??
Why not both?
The Kavalier because i saw it on the sites and they described it as a woman watch??!
@@Amr5herifelhareef it's for people with slim wrists, regardless of sex 😅

Thank you for the detail Tony! I did start to wonder if it was a women’s model given the size while the envoy is similar but larger. And 17mm 🤷🏻♂️

That is a nice watch all in all. Classic look. Nice buy my man!!!
Thank you James!
This watch is sold out everywhere!!! Is it discontinued...? Where I can still buy it...?
Orient official website still has it.
How much around your wrist?
Very elegant watch. I prefer 38-39mm for my wrist but lugs are also a factor so a 36mm with long lugs can work.
I have the Orient Star Classic.
They are completely owned by Seiko Epson, not partially.

6 1/4"
They released the bambino in 36mm recently

35mm?
I want this watch so bad its out of stock rn
I prefer Seiko 5 due to the value for price.
Great looking watch. Orient is a respected watch, good quality... nice video and watch to have. Thanks. Cheers from 🇭🇳
