    In the final round, when you tried to figure out which side of the road cars are allowed to drive, while facing north there was a small depression ahead which could conceal traffic. The cars on the right (eastern) side of the road were not allowed to overtake, and I think that heading towards that depression would be a good reason for it. This could be a hint that the cars in the country drive on the right hand side of the road.

  • @ppbandit8832

    I'm from Georgia in the United States, and the entire time you were guessing the one with the Ford pickup truck that reminded you of To Kill a Mockingbird, I was entirely convinced that it was somewhere near where I live, and that you were right about Alabama. It's crazy that I've lived in an area like that most of my life and had no idea they existed outside of the south

  • @1998marijn1998
    @1998marijn1998 6 років тому

    15:34 you can see straight ahead that the road goes down in elevation. That is why you are not allowed to overtake someone. The straight line is on the right, therefore, cars drive on the right.

    Artyom is a Russian name and Ernst indeed a German name, wich makes sense, since Uzbekistan was in the Soviet Union and has many Russian speakers and there have been deportations of Russian-German citizens to Uzbekistan and Tashkent specifically.

  • @ducciocolombi7729
    @ducciocolombi7729 6 років тому +4

    As soon as I saw that Middle Asian temple I thought Samarqand. Anyway you don't need to think about which side of the road people drive on when you see a steppe environment considering that no country that drives on the left has steppe

      South Africa, too.

    • @ducciocolombi7729
      @ducciocolombi7729 6 років тому

      They both don't have a proper steppe, they both have like warm/hot dry landscapes. Proper steppe (which is located in cool/cold places) doesn't exist in any country which drives on the right, apart from India. BUT considering that the only steppe in India is in Kashmir and Kashmir is not covered by Google Maps I don't think you would have to worry about this.

  • @TheLunkan22

    Heyyyyy geoguessrwizard love your vids, but I would recommend you trying out a different world map, its called "a diverse world", just google "geoguessr diverse world" or something and you'll find it. it has like 15 000 locations so you'll never get repeats. its pretty much as difficult as the normal world map but the locations you get are a lot more interesting and also you get a lot more smaller countries etc that arent on the world map. also theres no blurry pictures and very little buttfuck nowhere in russia or brazil compared to normal world
    try it! and also i sorry, but us swedes will beat u tomorrow lad its not coming home

    Man, never use that sun thing, you'd have to know the season, and for west/east guessing its even worse, just quite tell the time of the day. You got lucky in that Texas one, but you could guess it judging by the vegetation, US or Mexico. BUT DONT LOOK AT THE SUN

    • @deval97
      @deval97 6 років тому +10

      He used the sun to rule out Argentina, not mexico. The sun could never be in the south if they are in the southern hemisphere therefore he decided he was in Mexico or USA and from there he guessed USA

      There's always a latitude between 23.5° N and 23.5° S (depending on the day of the year) at which the midday sun is directly overhead. If you move north from that latitude, the sun will be to the south, and if you go south, the sun will be to the north.
      The trick is knowing when not to use the sun rule, which is why people think it's unreliable. Exceptions include
      -Tropical latitudes, because you could be between the equator and the latitude at which the sun is directly overhead
      -High latitudes in the summer, because the sun could be in any direction
      -Eastward/Westward sun, because for pretty much anywhere on Earth, the point on the horizon where the sun rises and sets shifts north and south depending on season
