Milk is the number one factor when it comes to successful latte art. You have to pay special attention to it! Join my free community to get help from me on your milk texture!
I’ve gotten better texture over the past while. But I noticed something recently. There’s one whole organic milk sold by Farm Boy that I can never get right. I steam it like I do with others and it always has this odd bubbling. Could it be that I’m just unlucky, or is there a difference between whole milk brands? I never run into this with others. I’ve even had better luck with oat milk. Thanks
@@Photosandfood Oh yes, some milk interacts strangely with the rise in temperature. I'm pretty sure you are familiar with proteins and how it can respond to certains kind of process. I guess this farm boy milk is just the way it is ! It reminds me of rice milk or coconut !!
@@CoffeetoArt thanks! I thought I was going crazy. I’m on a kitchen reno right now and my machine is stored. I want to cry! 😂
@@Photosandfood hahah I feel you ! I have at least 10 methods to make myself a coffee! Just to be sure :)
Yes Sir.. Noted
Heres an easy way to know when its the right temp (for me at least) so keep fingers at the bottom of the jug to feel the heat once its too hot to keep your fingers on it then count to 6 and then turn it off. It always gets me to 65 every time
Thanks you so much, next week I'll be getting a new De'longhi Dedica (arte) and I don't have any fancy thermometers to tell the milk's temperature, so I really appreciate this advice
the only problem with this is not everyone is having the same steamer as you nor the same conception of 'too hot to keep your fingers on it'
@lollo17mw2 that's why i said (for me at least) when I typed it but yea to everyone who is trying out ther machine use a thermometer if u want exact or test the heat when u make a coffee and experiment with it to know when to stop
Just after watching this video I tried to steam milk this way and finally I got macchiato just perfect, just as it should be! Thank you for advice, I enjoy my perfect coffee over and over again 😋😋😋
Very nice to read comment like that ! Thx for the support and i'm happy to help :)
I own coffee machine for 3 month and finally you teach me how to steam my milk, Thank you that helps me so much ❤❤
Did it work?

Thank for your sharing! Easy to understand. I’m doing cafe all rounder and learning how to make coffee 感謝你的分享 我在澳洲咖啡店打工 學習製作咖啡中
Love it. To the point with lots bits of info.
Great video. Well produced. Nice work
When using a 4 hole steam head, I think the best placement of the steam tip is directly in the middle. Placing it in the side to make vortex is normally done for steam heads with less holes, which you see James Hoffmann and a lot of other baristas do.
Thank you, new barista here looking for perfect steaming procedure.
Thank you! It's so helpful! 😃
That just put a big smile on my face.
Thanks from Istanbul/Turkey

Finally, the video that I’ve been waiting for, by the way bro? This beautiful white cup, what size is it? 8 Oz?
Hey mate !! How you doing ?
Yes 8 oz !

How to not have too much milk? My first try i got a very good milk layer but there is no taste of my coffee anymore hahaha!
Btw your video helped me a lot!
Thank you :)
Thinking about switching from 2 hole tip to 4. Feels like it takes ages.
amazing ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for the tips!
❤❤❤❤❤
I can get nice smooth texture but bubbles tend to appear a few minutes after it's been poured. Any ideas why that happens?
maybe it is because of dry steam
@@evazzz9852 After considering all options we eventually found it had to do with the steam wand tip. The one we were using had 4 holes and after changing to a 3 hole tip we are getting beautifully silky milk. Very interesting.
Thanks for sharing btw, milk which we use should be cold or just room temperature is suitable
Thanks you so much 💔
Perfect steam milke🥰❤️👌
Woooooow..thank your for sharing..❤
Good making coffee bro mai bhi cafe mai job krta hu

This video comes to the rescue. My dad owned an espresso machine that he never use after he bought and used it few times, I tried out today and was surprised of many bubbles i created lollll
Is okeey, beginner’s mistake

Nice vidéo bravo ❤️
Thank you :)
I was using an organic milk and having no luck . Then I got another band of organic milk ( Organic Valley) and I got perfect thick froth..both were whole milk
Hello. Thanks for your helpful video. One question. Is it possible to make this kind of shapes with non fat milk or 50/50?
nope you need whole milk
What is the initial temperature for milk should be? Before frothing the milk?
Another video says use milk the colder the better also chill the jug
Thank u for this useful video.. How many minutes do i need to heat the milk pr how can i know its ready?!
Utilise ta main. Lorsque que ta main est chaude. C'est ok.
Just got a starter espresso machine and my milk steaming technique isn’t working lol…going to try this. Thank you!
Sounds like "las horas mas lindas, las paso contigo"
Is it important where the tip of the steam wand is in the milk-near bottom near top or somewhere in the middle or doesn’t matter?
Can you hold the handle instead of the mug itself to make latte art? and how do you know how many seconds you're supposed to steam the milk for?
I don't know the correct ways so don't take my word for it but as you steam the milk, you can feel it warm up, I've heard that you go until its painful then stop. For me I need to go a little less than that or else it burns but just going by feel is how me and two other people I know do it. A thermometer is possibly the only other way to do it since it varies in time depending on how strong the steam is coming out of the machine and such.
Mantap nihh
Hello sir I am now Barista training but I'm very very interested barista
every day I thinking barista
Do you prefer to 1 or more (2, 3 or 4) steam holes?
Hey mate ! I prefer 4 holes !
😍♥️
😘
Bro i dont have temperature measurements can u tell me in sec how long it needs to steam
❤
nice video bro
Main comment. This video assumes the number of spouts coming from the steam wand. In my experience a three prong requires a different technique to a single prong.
Thank you for your comment. You have a good point here. I should find a way to show the difference between 1, 3 and 4 holes ! Thank you !
I have been making cappuccino for my customers, not being satisfied, i have come to learn. Is Full Cream Milk, say peak Milk good for cappuccino?
Does it work on oat milk, creamer or almond milk?
Does adding sugar affect the process? I add sugar and syrup to the cup prior to espresso drip.
Hi🙋♀ Thanks for your helpful video
stay connected dear friend
Познавательное видео.

Hello, May I know what coffee machine you use?
If i haven't a way to measure the temperature, is there a way i can feel the right temperature? Usually i try with this: if my hand can't stand the heat of the pitcher, it's ready. But it's an hypothetical way, i did read this tip once but actually i don't know if this is right...is there any other way to feel it?
Hey mate. It's the right method if you dont have a thermometer, but your hand gets used to the heat. There's another method you can combine with the hand method, the sound. A milk burning with a steam wand will be a lower sound. You can hear it if you try. Try to pour the same amount of milk in your jug each time and start the timer. Stop when de sound change. It means you burned the milk. Substract 2-3 seconds for the right temperature. Please keep me in touch.
Also, with a good espresso machine, for 250 ml of milk, the steam time should be around 13 - 14 seconds.
Thank you so much for your time to answer me! Actually i don't think my espresso machine is high quality...i'd say it is medium/low...for example, my wand has one hole instead of 3/4 of a professional machine (like yours as i see i the video), so i noticed that the steam is less powerful in some way...i tried again these days and sometimes i got good foam, but unfortunately i still get bubbles in it...but the sound tip is very clever! I didn't actually tried to focus on that! Another thing is that the vortex in the milk is not so evident...but maybe it's because my wand has one hole :(@@CoffeetoArt
How many seconds in froating the milk?
🎉🎉
More video po😊
Does it matter how deep the wand is submerged?
I’m wondering about the type of milk I use whole milk, lactose free
What machine are you using for this?
Hey mate, it's a simonelli Oscar 1.
@@CoffeetoArt thanks
Hello what type of milk to use? :( whole? Full?
Hello. Whole milk 3.25% fat.
Working good with 2% to 3.5% !
Hope it helps you !
What milk works the best? 1% 2% whole milk or half and half?
It has to be whole milk.
I cant make the milk swirl fast
It heats up no microfoam and sometimes huge bubbles
😞
Mantab
I try make it but always not successful i think its the milk not all milk can do it, but its milk from my work then i think i need buy milk for test different textures
Can you still do the art ,if your espresso shot is a bad shot?
How do you know when the temperature is too high?
Probably shouldn’t use the same cloth to clean the wand as you do the table. Maybe as well just drink your coffee straight from the table 🥲
Same observation.
I've tried and tried. Absoutley nothing close to art. Using a ECM Technika 4 Profi.
☕️👌🏽
What machine is this?
Amatir an nyimak 🙏
What is the brand of your coffee machine?
Hey Kevin ! Simonelli Oscar 1
I’ve got a cheap cooksworks coffee machine! Will I still be able to do this?
Hey Jack ! Hope you potato's good :) You should be fine with the cooksworks. Whit low steam power, the swirl is your best friend. Find the best spot and keep this position. Don't forget to tap you pitcher after steaming !
@@CoffeetoArt ahaha wow you’re funny too lol! Thank you for responding. I once help the spout above for 6 second to get it frothy and the rest I put it lower to break down the bubbles and that did very nice art, haven’t been able to do it since ahah! I tried using a thermometer but it fell in lol. Any tips to make me consistent? Just lots of practice I guess ahah! I love your channel
me i cant make the comsistency of milk 😢
55c is too mild. I think 68c for have here and 65 for takeaway is good.
