That's so true ! I found this channel two days ago, I'm in third pregnancy waiting for second baby to come. I always dreamed of a big family but somewhere in back of my head there was a thought that I should provide my kids big house with newest furniture and all that stuff. When I see this normal, not high-polished lacquered furniture bought week ago without expensive useless gadgets and useless nice - looking stuff I see that I shouldn't feel bad for being happy just to stay at home with my kid, spending most of time outside in the forest, playgrounds and by doing all the chores with my son. He is two he know what we must buy in the grocery shop, he is vacuuming the floors and washing them, pushing laundry into full machine and later unloading it. Yet I don't have a car, I don't own my own flat where I live (I bought one but it was a mistake) and I quit my job after miscarriage. I am so happy but on the other side whole family is laughing at me as a lazy b...tch. Thank god I found this channel I feel like there is an amazing soul on the other side of camera that is super inspiring for me 😍

A good sign that you’re not failing as a parent is the fear that you are. I’m sure you’re doing an incredible job and your kids will grow up being kind, intelligent, empathetic souls
I love that you buy things that are for specific people, I’ve seen a lot of videos ( I’m thinking more of the large families) where the whole family eats exactly the same. I love that you respect your families needs and wants, sometimes it’s the really small things that make you feel loved, valued and secure!

This channel makes me so happy since I found it. I love seeing a more normalized reality and the ability to learn things I can apply to my own kids lives. So many of the channels for large families or families in general seem to live in multi million dollar homes and things seem more like Fantasy island. This channel is a breath of fresh air.
I absolutely love that you have a "normal" kitchen. Small and simple. Im always semi sad I don't have a big fancy kitchen and have food stored all over my house. We are a large family too.

I am a house of 4, my fiance (husband in 5 1/2 weeks ahhh!) My 9 year old, and 2 year old. My kitchen and food storage is so much like yours! We go through so much and I always like to buy extra for just in case! I have a stuffed kitchen, 2 shelf units, and 1 small cupboard unit! 1 normal single door fridge and a mini fridge inside, overflow fridge in the garage. We also have 4 cats, 2 lizards, 2 massive fish tanks, and I try to keep a small garden with veggies going and herbs year round. I also live in a very tiny house so it gets a little embarrassing when people walk in and see food shelves! 😅 my daughters friends love it, call it a mini mart. Snack time is always all the time!

I have 2 teens at home and I seriously struggle to think of what meals to make. I've honestly have been taking notes of how you do things and it has helped me Tremendously. When I watch you cooking I always see you looking under the cabinet for your seasonings, ask Josh to have an electrician install lights under the cabinets my dad did this because we could never find anything, specially that short shelf at top hiding in the dark. He also installed a different switch for it. Blessings to your family
A time-saving hint. It appears you always buy the same brand in spices. If so, put a label on the tops and just switch out the tops when you have to replace them. I don't know how you do so much in one day. It is both amazing and fun to watch your videos.
I found your channel a few days ago. It is so refreshing to see a 'normal' house like mine as opposed to instagram worthy. As much as I love other channels, it makes me feel a bit depressed as I can't keep my kitchen so super organised with only 5 kids. Also a huge thanks to not having everything organic and healthy. That is so not affordable here in Australia when Capsicums are $15kg, Lettuce are $5.50ea and mandarins/oranges are $15kg. So a big thank you for keeping it normal and not having everything look perfect. ❤

You should show us what the pantry looks like before you need to do a grocery haul. To help people better understand you aren't buying just to buy. lol. I mean, I perfectly understand, you are a huge family, but I never understood why some of your comments don't understand your big grocery hauls.
So much food compared to my family of 2, but perfect for feeding a dozen a day! I remember my cousin cooking for her family of 18 (yes, 18. 2 parents and 16 bio kids). Her spaghetti pot was massive, and the kids LOVED her cooking. You're awesome, thank you for great videos!

I just spent two nights this past weekend at an air b&b celebrating my friends 19th birthday (legal drinking age in Canada) im 30 my husband is 32 and we had 8, 19 year old friends and we ended up taking care of them making all the meals and organizing clean up and making sure no one got alcohol poisoning. Making food for 10 people for 3 meals a day was a full time job in itself. It made me think of you i have a ton of new respect for you! 💕🤣 not quite the same but it was definitely a challenge compared to my one 7 year old son I normally have that only requires nuggets and cheese strings hahaha

I am battling some really not so nice feelings that came up when I realised that you’re making it work with all your kiddos and a normal size home- when I see UA-camrs who have these enormous, fancy kitchens that never get used. You are so organized! We also have the drawer in our fridge full of cheeses. Former dairy farmers and we love cheese. Your kids are so lucky to have so many choices and in moderation snacks are the best. I spoil my grandkids when they come over with all kinds of goodies and I love to bake. I have 7 sisters and 1 brother, so growing up it was an 11 people family, I'm number 7 and honestly I've always wondered how my mom made due with so many kids. My older sisters remeber this stage, but I only remember being taken careof by my older sisters and when my mom had more help. This is such an enlightening video, I really appreciate you showing the world how hard it is to raise a large family. My mom and older sisters made it look so easy, now I'm really appreciating all the effort it took just to go grocery shopping.... or even the nagging about deciding on a weekly menu. Never understood why that was si difficult until I had to think about it by myself. Thank you.

So funny, in Belgium, we call your fridge, an "americain fridge". Most of the time in Europe, the fridges are half so small and makes part of the furnitures of the kitchen, with the dishwasher, the oven, coffee machine... Love it that you are normal! Organized choas moms always know where the stuff is even if no one else can find it... we have a random shelf on one wall because there's never enough storage! I can't afford Wegmans for 2 or 3 much less 12 .... its a treat for subs and a dessert occasionally!

Do you rotate the items in the dry pantry next to the kitchen? Meaning, putting the newer ones at the bottom of a snack bin and the older ones on top, and new cans in the back of the ones you already have on hand, etc. Just curious. xo

A time-saving hint. It appears you always buy the same brand in spices. If so, put a label on the tops and just switch out the tops when you have to replace them. I don't know how you do so much in one day. It is both amazing and fun to watch your videos.
I found your channel a few days ago. It is so refreshing to see a 'normal' house like mine as opposed to instagram worthy. As much as I love other channels, it makes me feel a bit depressed as I can't keep my kitchen so super organised with only 5 kids.
Also a huge thanks to not having everything organic and healthy. That is so not affordable here in Australia when Capsicums are $15kg, Lettuce are $5.50ea and mandarins/oranges are $15kg.

Have you ever watched Our Tribe of Many UA-cam channel? There are 11 kids in that family. The mom give a lot of helpful tips about prepping multiple meals, as well as budgeting tips.
You should show us what the pantry looks like before you need to do a grocery haul. To help people better understand you aren't buying just to buy. lol. I mean, I perfectly understand, you are a huge family, but I never understood why some of your comments don't understand your big grocery hauls.
So much food compared to my family of 2, but perfect for feeding a dozen a day! I remember my cousin cooking for her family of 18 (yes, 18. 2 parents and 16 bio kids). Her spaghetti pot was massive, and the kids LOVED her cooking. You're awesome, thank you for great videos!

I just spent two nights this past weekend at an air b&b celebrating my friends 19th birthday (legal drinking age in Canada) im 30 my husband is 32 and we had 8, 19 year old friends and we ended up taking care of them making all the meals and organizing clean up and making sure no one got alcohol poisoning. Making food for 10 people for 3 meals a day was a full time job in itself. It made me think of you i have a ton of new respect for you! 💕🤣 not quite the same but it was definitely a challenge compared to my one 7 year old son I normally have that only requires nuggets and cheese strings hahaha

I am battling some really not so nice feelings that came up when I realised that you’re making it work with all your kiddos and a normal size home- when I see UA-camrs who have these enormous, fancy kitchens that never get used. Rubs me the wrong way. But alas - I KNOW it’s not the place that makes the home it’s the who.

You are so organized! We also have the drawer in our fridge full of cheeses. Former dairy farmers and we love cheese. Your kids are so lucky to have so many choices and in moderation snacks are the best. I spoil my grandkids when they come over with all kinds of goodies and I love to bake. You are an inspiration to so many. Your kids are the best and well behaved.
I have 7 sisters and 1 brother, so growing up it was an 11 people family, I'm number 7 and honestly I've always wondered how my mom made due with so many kids. My older sisters remeber this stage, but I only remember being taken careof by my older sisters and when my mom had more help. This is such an enlightening video, I really appreciate you showing the world how hard it is to raise a large family. My mom and older sisters made it look so easy, now I'm really appreciating all the effort it took just to go grocery shopping.... or even the nagging about deciding on a weekly menu. Never understood why that was si difficult until I had to think about it by myself. Thank you.

So funny, in Belgium, we call your fridge, an "americain fridge". Most of the time in Europe, the fridges are half so small and makes part of the furnitures of the kitchen, with the dishwasher, the oven, coffee machine... Love it that you are normal! Organized choas moms always know where the stuff is even if no one else can find it... we have a random shelf on one wall because there's never enough storage! I can't afford Wegmans for 2 or 3 much less 12 .... its a treat for subs and a dessert occasionally!

Oh yes, I have a funny thought I would like to share with you. On the days when I cook a meal and my husband does not, I find myself cooking large quantities of what ever I am making. It must be an ingrained trait from watching my mom cook and feed a family of 10 :):)

I see the critical comments in the comment section sometimes and I put that together with the way I grew up with strict eating regimens and strict diets and mean comments, and I feel guilty for secretly liking how Alicia shops and feeds her family. As if I shouldn't approve or enjoy it. But I do like it and it feels very therapeutic and healing, because I am coming out of my shell and gaining new confidence. Thank you Alicia and family! 🥰

Do you rotate the items in the dry pantry next to the kitchen? Meaning, putting the newer ones at the bottom of a snack bin and the older ones on top, and new cans in the back of the ones you already have on hand, etc. Just curious. xo
