This is how you attach the shoulder armor to your costume. If you watch the fight with the Mudhorn scene, you can clearly see “this is the way” they attached it :)
hey, i had a question, im makeing spartan 2 armor from halo, and i am wondering if it would work the same way? in the game the armor is directly atached to the upper arm, would puting a second strap that goes around the arm along with the upper strap work for that?
Thank you! I'm planning to do Meta Knight from "Kirby" and this REALLY helps. Meta Knight's shoulder pads are on the top of the shoulder and I'm going to assume it's the same way, yes? If so, yay!😅😉
I would love to see a video on how you tackled the closures for the bracer's. I've looked at the D23 pictures pretty closely and don't see any hinges or elastic showing. Any idea's how they did it for the screen set? Thanks!
They might just slip on. My husband got some old Rex armor on etsy the bracers were on solid piece. They were too big for his forearms but they have a little lip curving inward. I used masking tape on the outside to get a basic template used some cheap 2mm eva foam for a mockup and slid it into the bracer. Then I glued strips of upholstery foam length wise. The made a cover out of black spandex to hide it a bit. I can just curl them up a bit and jam them into the bracer and they stay on their own and hit my husband perfectly and comfortably. Long story but maybe it will help?
If you watch the show, the shoulders are attached like this. Watch the Mudhorn scene, you can see the shoulder flip up and its attached exactly as you see it described here. :) Personally not a fan of magnets as you cannot machine wash a garment with magnets in it.
Hello, greetings from Spain, excuse me sir, I am also making the Mando armor, I followed your gold video indications regarding the Montana Gold Sprays, but I would need to know which one you use as first base ...Silver Crome?? Metalic Silver??
@@pandapropsncostumes Pre Beskar, The colors that I already bought were Chestnut , Sahara Beige ,Deep Sea and Mt. Fuji. But the ones in the layers below I don't know which ones I can buy.
That was only for the shots where you see the electronics etc underneath the armor. I don't use magnets because they tend to fail. I've worked on props and costumes for use on set and while magnets can be used for certain accessories or portions of helmet closures, I don't want to risk a failure on a costume. The chest and thigh armor for example move too much imo. I'd rather have the security of velro
Building a captain Rex costume/ load out for airsoft and have been wondering how to attach it to a plate carrier. This helps out a ton!
Thank you so much for this very helpful and informative video.
This helped me immensely with my storm trooper armor. Thank you so much!
Thank you for your amazing and super informative videos!

Very illuminating guide, gracias Terry!

Yes, I'm sure you could do something similar. Maybe instead of one strap on top of the shoulder, have one in front and one behind for more stability
@@pandapropsncostumes oh~ Okay! I can try that!😁

With the foam, would you add that to all pieces are just the Pauldrons?
Just the shoulder pauldrons
Thankss
Would you be able to link the fabric you used for the flak vest and the lower padding piece of the flight suit? Thanks.
Mark Davis I just got it locally. But the flak vest is duck cloth canvas and the under vest is a cotton weave :)
@@pandapropsncostumes Thank you
high strength magnets glued onto the inside and sewed into the flight suit so you can detach like in the show

Sorry I don’t quite understand. Are you trying to paint Beskar chrome look or the pre Beskar colors?
@@pandapropsncostumes Pre Beskar,
The colors that I already bought were Chestnut , Sahara Beige ,Deep Sea and Mt. Fuji. But the ones in the layers below I don't know which ones I can buy.
I think he’s asking for what silver paint you used for the battle damage
Can you recommend a place to get the open-cell foam? It looks like you used a sheet of it.
James Smith you can google a foam shop in your area. Often upholstery shops, fabric stores and mattress places carry it
Have you ever considered using (reasonable strength) magnetic areas to attach the armor plates? More to the liking of what we see in the show itself

WHER I CAN FIND THESE PRE BESKAR GAUNTLETS??
I 3d printed them from models made by Great Ape Studio Art on Etsy :)
Do you sell any costumes?
I do commissions for cosplayers and I work in TV and film :)
Please do the Beskar pauldron
El Adrian it’s attached in the exact same way :)
@@pandapropsncostumes Oh ok Thanks! Great job with the build!
