This is how coaching should be, hes got a structure and he's pushing you hard. But he's not necessarily being aggressive towards you, he's trying to help you.
I hope these young men in attendance are well aware of the absolute privilege.... Dan is and always will be a leader among men & youngsters can benefit from his teachings later in life far beyond the wrestling mat....
Just imagine Gable in his PRIME pushing guys like Barry Davis, The Brands, Steiners, Mcilravy, Alger, etc to limits FAR FAR FAR beyond this young man w the dummy. I actually cringe thinking about the brutality and outrageous intensity in that Iowa room in those decades under Coach Gable.
“I actually cringe about the brutality and outrageous intensity in that Iowa room in those decades under Coach Gable” LOL That makes two of us- Hard for me to imagine. I think Tom Brands has carried on that tradition pretty closely though.
That was not very good coaching or instructing it is illegal to throw an drop a guy on his head the way he had that kid tossing the dummy it's the farthest from protecting your opponent from serious injury . They suppose to help protect one another
I give that guy props. His best throw was when he was dead tired.. I respect that push he made at the end.
That's what wrestling is all about.. ❤️
Pablo's got a ton of heart. Throws were not his strength, but he's always going to get after it - especially when Gable says to do it.
@@rolandhackler6951 was this from a long time ago ?
When I was 14 Dan Gable was at Russ Houk’s wrestling camp in Pa, I remember every moment he worked with me...I am 62 now...
He's very honest about what he sees. You need a guy like that coaching you if you want to be elite.
Altet i wish I had that type of support while I was wrestling
Yes I agree. I definitely wish I had a coach like that
A legend as both an athlete and a coach.

It be an honor to wrestle Dan Gable and get pinned
That's why you don't mess around with Dan gable.
I'd be so nervous If I were that kid, having THE legend pushing me and I'm not doing well.
But he never made it feel like he was legend. Very humble
Dan is an intense man.
another set of 4... oh no, SIX
Last one was his best one wow.

I'm sorry Dan I would have done more today but, I went really heavy on legs yesterday and i didn't wanna stress my CNS too much.
@Joseph Scott that was a very random comment I made last year lol! Yeah ikr, I was just wondering what (not if) I should train ironically lol.
Gable was a machine
Holy moley, I didn’t realise they did this in front of an audience until the end when people started applauding 👏 nice 👍🏽
Damn that's some drilling
👍

@@kaypie3112 Agree, my friend! 👊🤠✌️
He's not telling you to do something he couldn't do, nor didn't do...or hell, probably still can do.
man I was worn out just watching that And the funny thing that is only probably not even 1 percent of what he put Iowa wrestlers through
That poor dummy got his skull cracked over & over, great 👍🏼 move for self-defense when done improperly. 🤔😜
Meanwhile, homeboy in the back doing high knees is cooked.
Geez. I get tired just watching. Hardcore.
