- This Steinberg support video helps you redeeming a Download Access Code in the Steinberg Download Assistant for activating an eLicenser based Steinberg product. It looks at locating your Download Access Code (or DAC), downloading and installing the Steinberg Download Assistant and signing in to the MySteinberg login page with your Steinberg ID. You can enter your Steinberg Download Access Code into the Download Assistant, which will automatically enter it into the eLicenser Control Center. As well as letting you activate Steinberg products, you can also update them in the Steinberg Download Assistant. You can manage your licences in the MySteinberg area of the web site.
To get your product visit www.steinberg.net/go/ and follow the instructions on the screen.

It's a real shame. Cubase is the best DAW but the worst Activation/Download/Registration/whatever.
I have a working version of Cubase 10.5 on my Mac. I've downloaded Cubase 12, installed it. now its making me jump through all these hoops again. why is this so difficult? why isn't the Download Access Code always stored in the Download Assistant? no wonder so many people get put off by using Cubase.

After downloading cubase and putting the access code i dont get the activation code. whats going on? on the video it seems all automatic, but in my case it says "the licence is automatically activated upon initializing cubase le for tascam" (and doesnt work)
Crazy is how many accounts, passwords, license software you must have to play vst plugins on pc.
To crack is much more easy and simple. skip all the hassle.
I'm abandoning cubase because of this POS activation hell. Every month I get a error like "cant find registered product" "expired date please run maintenance" and then maintenance does nothing, "lcc2 error" and the list goes on. Also got lots of bugs like track image not showing until I delete image files, constant crashes and such even after formatting and upgrading my pc.
I like the actual software you make (i use cubase, wavelab and a few libraries) , but that activation procedures are pure hell. You have an Elicenser, Download assistant, Activation manager, library manager and probably a few more that I have missed. Sometimes you can use one of them sometimes not. It´s pretty much random which one of them will actually do something. (or the typical : "The elicenser software is too old, please download and update from...blah...." AND it's still too old after updating :-( ) Could you please just make one program that works for installing and activation software and get rid of all the others.
Couldn't agree more. Too many hoops to jump through to get up and running. Dongle, go here activate , go there come back go back log in Dongle three more easy steps. stand on your head

Stupid procedure and nothing like the video above. I just get error messages when attempting to download the library manager and the Steinberg pages won't open despite being logged in. Steinberg, you will have to sort this out. Everyone has the same issue accessing your software.
i just upgraded from HALion 6 to 7 via my eLicenser dongle.
can i switch to a non-dongle license after activation and installation?
After opening Steinberg net go, I get a gateway timeout when trying to get the download assistant

Very Buggy. My Cubase 11 AI LE is problem after problem. Luckily, I only got a few dollars in it, so if doesn't start working properly I can move on to a more reliable product.
Huh? How was your download access code already in the bar? Mine is empty, I have no email for it, and I've downloaded Cubase software from their website instead of it coming from a CD disk. I can't find where to get a download access code!
Coming back to this I realized that all of the "free download" links on their website do nothing if you haven't purchased the software at some point in the past.
Just bought the audient id24 and came with cubase le 12 and downloaded everything and I still can’t figure how to activate the license🤦🏻♂️ you guys should provide a support that allows you guys to get in the customers pc or mac and help them install the daw.

How's about this; I create an account, I install the downloader software. I buy some software, download and enter the supplied code and that's it.
Having to have certain products use the eLicenser USB dongle to be attached all the time is very old fashioned.
On my setup only Cubase 13 and Backbone don't require the blasted dongle.
I was considering the purchase of the UR22C audio interface. But after seeing this video I sure 'll not buy that unit! WTF! Focusrite already was a pain in the a** demanding your personal data in exchange for the necesary firmware and running software in the background 24/7 even when you are not using the audio interface. Reason for me to send it back to Thomann. This looks even worse!!!
It has been 7 days since I tried to reach the support. I use a lot of different software and contacted many different tech supports over the years, but I never encountered such a lazy and incompetent support like yours. I'm enraged that I spend money for a software I can't use, cause your company is not able to pragramm a working licensing software or provide the slightest bit of costumer support.

yall have made the installation process long, overly complicated and counter-intuitive. you were gracious enough to give me a free vst in xstream, but i will never buy one of your products simply because of how much of a process this is. 3 different software applications to install one plugin is ridiculous.
