Pedro, are you asking for help on the official forum? Another users can try to help you. I use Cubase since version sx3 (a cracked version) and legit since version 6 ( so I keep updating since 2012). Cubase 12 is nice here (but a little heavy on the cpu). Can you still at least run version 11?
Hey Pedro, sucks to hear that. I agree with everyone else over here, try the forum, it’s a great community - it could be a very specific thing on your system that’s triggers this behaviour. Someone else might have come across it. I wish I had a clue what might be going on but I have installed C12 on multiple Mac and PCs here and I had no hiccups. I know this is not a solution but pinpointing what the issue might be on your system might solve this!
Its a step in the right direction, although still not as flexible as Studio One. In S1 it renders an audio file, and at the same time it gives you access to the midi file which you can drag off to use in other tracks. Also, we need a meter to see which tracks are hogging all the CPU so we know what to freeze! Still, a nice update.
Regarding your last point, if you go to the mix window you can actually turn on an option to see how many milliseconds of latency each track is producing, which I’ve found really handy in figuring out which tracks I need to freeze/disable to reduce latency.
@@MaidenOfMusic these latency are compensated by cubase, so it wont reduce your overall latency, also track with the most announced latency are not necessarily the most hungry on ressources
Dom, please tell us more about suround mixing in movies. Kies need this total. maybe stero tracks are more in demand? Maybe it's just better to convert from stereo to suroud. I would like a separate video on this topic
Cool! I usually just highlight all the tracks and hit my key commade for disable to free some resources. Is there a difference with freezing multiple tracks compared to disable?
What's the difference between disable tracks and freeze tracks? Looks similar to me. I have been using the disable tracks feature to free up system resources for a long time now. Forgive me if I am wrong.
I was like "ok... I know I can freeze multiple vst at the same time in Cubase 12..." But then like "freeze including inserts!? Whaaaat. That's OP!" I didn't know it.

In Cubase is there any way to see how much CPU/memory individual VSTi / effects are hogging per track i.e. Track 1 - Massive + 2% Track 2 Arturia whatever + 15% Track 2 Insert FX - Output Movement + 12% Track 3 etc Track 4 etc This basic visibility should allow us to quickly and directly and accurately identify the resource hogs, rather than guessing who the culprits for lag are (in theory) Or are these pretty important metrics already available to us on an item by item basis? Any light that can be shed is most welcome - thanks!
As far as I've heard, only disabling plugins one by one and checking the changes in latency values on a channel strip will help you identify the computationally intense plugin. Channels with the highest latency should be looked at, first.
@@Yuusou. thanks for confirming what I thought. This guesswork is a highly sub-optimal and time consuming workflow. I think it's an oversight. Steinberg - great product, but please give us visibility of the very relevant and important data so we can surgically identify -> remove/replace/freeze/unload the CPU hogs
Yes, you can do that. If you go the mix window, in the top right corner there should be a cog wheel or some other button (I’m not at my computer right now). When you click on it, you should see an option to allow you to see how many milliseconds of latency are on each individual track. I find this feature very handy for quickly identifying tracks with the most latency and freezing/disabling them as necessary.
@@MaidenOfMusic thanks for your input. Although I don't think latency is exactly the same as CPU load (or memory usage for that matter).
