Hard to argue with Pippen. My wife and I have a running joke where one of us will bring up, 'those Bulls are on quite a run.' Just reminds us how old we are.
Most people either loved them or hated them back then. They were like the patriots or chiefs now. They were my team, starter jacket and all as well. Thanks for watching Tony!
Gave a video like. Jordan and Pippen were an outstanding duo when they were together. My favorite duo of all-time is Karl Malone and John Stockton. Both Malone and Stockton are top ten in career WS (win shares) which is like WAR in baseball. I think they spent 19 seasons together. Stockton would be my pick for greatest Robin in sports. Will always remember the Jordan and Pippen duo too. What a tremendous time in sports.
Great selection Brian! Stockton gets forgotten about, he was a fantastic pure point guard. I would put that duo up there, but my Bulls handled them twice in the finals lol!
I LOVED those Bulls teams with Pippen and Jordan. Sadly, I haven’t really watched the NBA since Jordan retired. Pippen definitely benefited by playing next to the GOAT, but the GOAT benefitted from playing next to Pippen too. Pippen has such an interesting story too. From playing at a small NAIA school in Arkansas to being the 5th pick in the draft is crazy. Thanks for sharing those cards. I’m not a basketball card collector, so I had actually never seen those.
Thanks Tony! I actually grew up in a basketball house. That was the main sport in my family. That being said, I do not watch too much of the current NBA, it’s a difficult watch. I still do love college basketball.
Lots of great Robin's, or maybe many are more like 2 Batmans. Pippen was a true Robin it seemed. I worked in a casino after college and he was known on the casino circuit as "No Tippin, Pippen" so not always the best customer. Glenn Robinson was the biggest guy I ever personally served.
I have heard the rumor of no tippin Pippen as well. That’s just another reason he rubs people the wrong way, but still a great player. Thanks as always my friend!
Awesome video, Jason! I was always a huge Scottie fan! I've thought about getting his rookie. Who was Robin when Shaq and Kobie played together? Or with Magic and Kareem? I hate the Lakers, but I just thought about them!
For both of those Lakers teams it’s hard to say who was Batman and who was Robin. I was even thinking of guys like Eddie Mathews, always in the shadow of hammering Hank. Thanks for watching brother!
Kareem was the Lakers' Batman. He did the scoring. Magic facilitated, and a great player maker in his own right. And, arguably the greatest point guard of all-time. Some will say, Curry has surpassed him. Which is fine. But, I wouldn't agree. As for, Kobe and Shaq, that is a bit more difficult for me to answer. I feel like, Kobe's uniqueness, and what made him special, was his ''mamba mentality,'' the ultimate competitor, and Jordan was his idol. But, honestly I feel like, Shaq was the Batman. Kobe would get frustrated with Shaq because he felt was out of shape, and not putting in the work. Basically, he was a Ben Affleck Batman. 😵💫
Cool video, enjoy seeing the different stuff. I like collecting all the sports but content is heavily all baseball on YT. This is a great topic for discussion and exlporing. Maybe should do a Mt Rusmore with Aaron for each major sport?
This was a good video. I do not follow basketball, but I was a sports center kid growing up, so it’s not like I’m completely in knowledgeable. In fact, I probably know more about basketball from the 90s than any other time period. Cool cards. Batman and Robin? How about Mathews and Aaron or Brooks Robinson and Boog Powell? I’ve always got to find a chance to put Boog in there😂. Thanks for the video!
Nice Scotty Pippin , very nice cards this was a great idea great video if it was up to me I would give you 5 stars out of 5 so who's the greatest Robin? I bet if you go through videos that for the week and the month so up to Lincols week this is going to be the best. Don't get me wrong theres lots of great videos put out but this is probably going to be the best for at least a month. so the year just started up and so far the commenting collector has the best contest don't see anything changing your Robin video is the best for at least a month?
Eddie Mathews comes to mind. I'd say Mark Aguirre could qualify somewhat for the Bad Boys. He could have been the Pistons star scorer but contributed unselfishly and we won because of it. You guys finally overtook us... and you know how Pistons fans feel about Scottie haha... I do have his 1988 Entenmann's card which is one you don't see every day. Cool Pippen cards and you make a good argument!
@@EverydayCardCollector-Jason Ah, nice! I hesitated to write in Mathews for the simple fact he is a flat-out no-brainer beast of a hall of famer on his own! He just plays second fiddle to Hank on most people's list. Looking forward to you snagging that Entenmann's Pippen! They had a factory and outlet store just a few miles from my house when I was a kid. Try to find the 1987 first if you can! I could possibly be coaxed into parting with my 1988 Pippen SGC in the right situation. Can't remember if it's a 7 or 8. My pleasure!

Scottie Pippen for modern basketball & I think John Havlieck Boston Celtics for vintage. Those Celtics were loaded with hall of famers. But, Havileck stands out to me as the guy, not named Russell

Pippen was a great player. No doubt about it. However, he's said things in recent years that easily make people salty about him or make people think he was salty. I'm talking about him propping up Lebron over Jordan and at times putting down Jordan.
Exactly right Steve. He was saying some pretty foolish things during his playing days as well. His actions over the years have left a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouths. Thanks so much for watching my friend!
@@JAMESGTERCOLLECTS2 Thanks for watching James! I absolutely watched Dr. J play he was my favorite player until Michael came into the league. Dr. J was definitely a Batman. I also think Dr. J had a skill set more like Michael. All of those 76er teams from the early 80’s had a point guard that ran the floor. To me Doc was a slasher like Mike.
I know, it’s too bad. I will say Pippen has not helped his case. Some of the things he has said in the past have been pretty foolish. Nevertheless when they were on the court together, it was awesome. Thanks for watching!
Great Pippen cards Jason! I am probably one of the minority that feels although he was a great player he is a bit over rated, just me! Other basketball Robins are McHale to Bird, Kareem & Worthy to Magic, Shaq or Kobe, not sure who was the Robin? Do you own the 1990 Skybox Pippen?
Thanks Steve! I do have the skybox Pippen and a few more of his cards, I just didn’t want to show them all. I can see how some people would feel he is overrated, it was Michael’s greatness that helped him become who he was on the court.
