His playing showcases the versatility of his playing but also matches up well showcasing the guitar. It always amazes me how some guys demo a $25,000 guitar and throw tons of distortion on it making it sound like any old $250.00 cheap guitar and not even getting a good distortion sound. You’ll sell a lot more guitars having guys like him representing the great sounds the guitar can produce.

The quality of the recent Squier stuff, in the hands of a good player, through a proper amp is shockingly good, especially for the money.

This is an excellent guitar, I own both the 50 and the 60 CV's Strats. I sold my cV 50's tele [great sounding] but it was too heavy and the frets were not to my liking. Then, I bought the 60's Tele, but I ended up returning it because I didn't like the pickups...oh wells! But the Strats are out of this world. If you're looking for a Strat, check these out. You can't go wrong. Cheers!

Can’t go wrong with a Fender, or Squier Tele! I have a Fender American Pro, and a Squier Bullet, love ‘em both equally! I also used to have a Mexican standard, that I foolishly sold, I keep trying to buy it back, but the guy I sold it to won’t make the same mistake I did. 😉

Have both the 50's Tele and Strat from Squier and I don't think I'll ever need to buy another guitar, barring tragedy. Swapped a set of Yosemite pickups into the Strat, a set of Texas Special pickups and a Fender brass barrel bridge on the Tele and they both sound and feel like big dollar fiddles. Squier is knocking it out of the park!

  • @artamussumatra6286
    @artamussumatra6286 4 роки тому +5

No, Squier hasn’t just been knocking it out of the park recently. They’ve been making fantastic guitars for decades! I do recall a really bad batch of Squier standards from the ‘90s - but that was only the standard line, (the Affinity’s of the same time were great)and they fixed the spec pretty quickly.
I’ve owned a 1999 Affinity Strat, a 2012 Classic Vibe ‘50s Strat,(kinda regret ever selling them)and I now have a 2017 Bullet Telecaster. Squier is the bizzness, if they ever release a Jaguar that has all the original parts included, it’ll be an automatic purchase for me! 😁👍

Plus, I like the idea of being that dude who gets a great tone from a Squier 😁 I’m lucky enough to own some real sweet USA Strats, Teles, P Basses etc but I have a Squier VM 70s Strat that is just killer plus a VM 70s Jazz that I love. Apparently doesn’t have the “correct” pickup spacing for a 70s Jazz but I really couldn’t give a crap, it’s punchy as fuck and plays great. Norm, where do you find all these sick players?

    Hello,
Congratulations on the beautiful tutorials on guitars and amps.
I wanted to ask you for advice:
I am fond of the Stratocaster sounds of Clapton, Knoffler and Gilmour.
    I wanted to buy a Stratocaster with a price between 400 and 1100 euros. (CLASSIC VIBE 50/60 - PLAYER 50/60 - PLAYER 50/60 MOD - VINTERA 50/60 - VINTERA 50/60 MOD. - VINTERA 50/60 ROD WORN - AMERICAN PERFORMER).
Which of these models are closest to the timbres of Clapton, Knoffler and Gilmour.
I also like the idea of the humbuker in the bridge, since I get the clean sounds with the center and the neck.
    I always follow you.
    Best regards and happy holidays.

Warning: Do You know why the guitar in this video and ANY other video has no tremolo arm set ?
I bought a SQUIER CV 60´s 3 tone sunburst Strat. Everything was just fine .... but I didn´t check the lack of tremolo arm, but something in the air was not right. The seller at the store was in a hurry to pack it up for me.
Tone and feel is 100% perfect. I checked the block of this Strat later at home, fat block and stock claw. With OD ...... there was NO noise at all. Why ? ..... it´s a 60´s Strat !!!! ....Nice appointment anyway.
The worst thing I did ..... was to look for the tremolo arm after 3 days playing the damn great thing. It did´nt go straight down like any tremolo arm in my others Strats.
I ¨discovered¨the hole was not there !!!! .... Believe it or not !!!!!
Only "half" hole was covered by the bridge plate. WTF ????
Finally. I could set the tremolo arm tilted in a wrong way, very far from the right place.
This "vintage" feature could lead to a block breakage in a few days eventually.
I took my beloved guitar back to the store looking for a discount or get a new fat block for free.
I got a SQUIER Strat white CV 70's with thin block and a great tortoise pickguard.
It was not easy to get this guitar as a "total refund". The seller said it was a "vintage" feature on my Strat CV 60´s. Admitted that it could break the block if the tremolo arm was in use. "That´s normal on Squiers guitars. Fender Strats have not these tilted tremolo arm hole"
Then, this gay came out of a door, He was hearing all my arguments ... " Warranty covers the breakage of the block .... ????". He looked the guitar and in 3 seconds He said "It´s faulty, change it for another one".
I didn´t want to spend money in a new vintage block.
This time. my brand new Squier CV 70´s has a crappy small/thin claw ..... and a Squier Affinity thin block. The action is high. fretboard is not even at the nut. It has a taper cut. Thick on fret one and thinner at the 12 fret. It´s ..... rare.
It has not the same perfect tone like the vintage 60´s version, it´s more like a Telecaster ( clean ) and it has a weak Strat tone ( OD/DIST).
I regret every second to find that a guitar like this had a crappy job on the block hole. It was not easy for me to leave that Squier CV 3 tone sunburst 60´s guitar. It was the last one.
Remark my words : CHECK THE TREMOLO ARM HOLE AND TRY TO INSERT THE TREMOLO ARM AT THE STORE ...... BEFORE TO BUY IT.
You could change the block after all ...... IF you cough 25 dlls extra ! It worth it !!!!

confused: I'm always seeing people reference Chinese CV strats. I have a CV 50 that was made in Indonesia. I almost never hear anyone say this. I thought maybe older ones were made in CN and the current models in IN. do they make them in both countries currently? any difference in quality?

Correction! I have that guitar and it is made in Indonesia. Not China.

After reading the posts below, this review is more about the cheering squad for the young man's playing. The review should be about the guitar if you wish to sell more of them. One thing I learned about selling guitars is put the guitar in the customers hands ASAP. A good guitar will sell itself. I only demo guitars for folks who don't play or at the beginning of the guitar journey.
