Is it absolutely necessary to rotate the scanning device to measure the thyroid as you did in the video? I had one done recently and the tech didn’t do this at all, and she avoided the areas of my neck that had swelling in them.
Is it normal for an ultrasound tech to rest their arm on your breast and nipple during the exam? I had one that just did this and it felt awkward, but now I'm wondering if he actually violated me. I was stressed about my cancer and I had just had a disagreement with him and I was afraid that fighting would interfere with me getting fast results.
@@clariusmhealth thanks.. I'm upset but not surprised that instruction doesn't include protecting women's private parts from male touch. This make me think that tons of perverts are exploiting this awful oversight to molest many women a day. I know my screen name might make you think I'm being silly, but I mean, think about it. There should be something laid over women's chests or other parts if touching it isn't necessary. It can be angled in a way that doesn't interfere with reaching the part. I'm so upset that people don't think about this. Medicine is so full of old fashioned, dumb, sexist practices. Ps thank you for responding.
@@hystrionic I am a male tech. I do my very best to be aware of the position of my resting arm. Resting on our patient is critical to get good images. Patients move, squirm, breathe, swallow and sometimes even talk too much so l am always reminding them of the importance to be as still as possible. You could have done too things during that exam. One...inform the tech that you are uncomfortable with his technique. Two...request a female to scan you.
You all are such a blessing. I appreciate and thank God for you all. Be blessed in the Lord, and thanks for sharing your video.
Thank you Esther. I’m having this done tomorrow. A doctor I saw today felt a goiter.

Hello - as an ultrasound technologist, I often rest my arm on the patient to stabilize my scanning hand, regardless of which body part I'm scanning.
