- I talk about some of the comments that have claimed I use AI to narrate my videos or that I've slowed the narration down so that I can put in more ads.
This is my personal channel where I talk about my life: How I started producing true crime content, what the process of moving to The Netherlands is, how I overcame struggles in my life stemming from childhood abuse, and I will also put up some music. Auto narrated or not, you have a unique voice and the way you speak is calming. Even when you’re telling us about someone being murdered the sound of your voice is still soothing.

Very interesting Jiles. I think for us regular listeners we would hear the difference in the voice in about 3 seconds, new viewers may not be able to hear that it is not the real you. We love the real YOU and all your channels. Thanks so much

I love the punk rock mindset brought into your editing/comedic timing. If it means anything, I thought you had slowed down your speaking tempo due to it being generally easier for people to listen to. I've been a fan of yours for years! I've actually pointed out your voice to my friends at how well you narrate these videos! I've never thought of you as AI. AI is already causing problems when people can't tell the difference. I don't feel like you need to explain yourself! Hi J. some computer generated voices are so hideous & makes whatever snippet it maybe unwatchable. To be honest I haven't noticed I think that's why I love both your channels so much. Glad you're move went well, I caught your 1st impressions of the Netherlands / (Holland) Thumbs Up & look forward to a new year of Monsters & Sinister things coming. Great stuff !!!

I love all of your videos and I have always known that the voice I have heard has been a real human voice....And that voice, like I said in the very first comment I ever made on this channel, reminds me of someone very special to me and it's not just the sound.... it is your inflections and "audio mannerisms" (?) .... sarcasm and wit! I am totally blind, so I never knew if you were on camera or not it is always the same to me, but I always wanted to know who was the one talking in the videos when I didn’t know your name or who you were that’s why I love this new channel where you talk more about yourself.

Great information to know you stay authentic - for me (listening from Germany) it is important you to speak slow, fluetly, and well pronounced. I left channels due to their AI-sound. Thank you😊

Ps - my husband and I tried moving to the Nl in 2020 from Canada during covid and it was CRAZY!! So beautiful and interesting … but be forewarned - you are not in Kansas anymore 😅 !! Look, I subscribe to a couple channels where the narrators speak WAAYY too quickly! They skip words, they fumble and mispronounce words, & honestly-it’s just sloppy, & then I have to rewind it to figure out what the hell they just said! I don’t know who the hell is complaining, but your narrating style is one of my all-time favorites, which is why when I queue up my videos, I put yours at the end because-save the best for last, right?
back in the days I thought it was a trained actor, like some other channels, because of the perfection of the voice. I imagined the person behind it someone looking like a Gregory Peck 😅 but once Jiles appeared on video and OMG my brain tilted... he was nothing like I imagined him and it was sooo good 🧡 We love you Jiles! Voice, body, mind, awareness and humour, thank you for sharing your contents with us 💯

I’ve long said that his voice is the greatest voice in true crime although it’s hard to choose between Jiles from “This Is Monsters” and “The Raven” from EWU. Either way they’re both unbelievable voice actors, the difference is Jiles writes his own script then narrates it and (I may be wrong but I believe the raven is just a paid actor. But still great

I learned Master of Puppets at 95 percent . Made it doable for an old guy lol. Your voice is awsome. I would rather you use your real voice . Sometimes i listen and not watch as im doing other things. Love this channel

Jiles, I spent the last few minutes writing three paragraphs of things I was curious about and deleted it all because I don't wanna be that guy ;-) Could you please give a quick tour of the neighborhood you decided to live in? Also, where there any issues hooking up all your techy stuff, how well were you prepared? How does the water from the tap taste? Are your children excited, happy, etc?? Thanks!
I plan on doing some more walking/biking around. I didn’t have any problem hooking up my stuff. I checked all of the electronics we brought and made sure they were compatible and brought a box of US-EU plug adapters. Otherwise everything was the same. I initially thought the water tasted a little weird, but have since gotten used to it and think it’s delicious. It’s as good as the water from when we lived in Washington state. Our children are very excited.

To be honest....your voice is very soothing. The first time I saw your face was on Ryan's story. I think your voice suits you 🤷. When I first found Monsters waaaayyy back in the day, your episodes were my bedtime story. Which sounds creepy as heck but thought I would share anyway 😂. I am not generally creepy....at least I hope so.

I've come across some channels that use a generated voice. It's usually pretty obvious. Some aren't done well at all and I end up avoiding their videos. Others do it well enough that I don't care. It never occurred to me that yours might be generated. How weird to come to that conclusion!
Just a shot in the dark here, but did you take the title of this video from a certain sketch on the Ben Stiller Show? I believe it was something called Melrose Heights. In one episode there was a storyline involving Vaughn (played by a young Bob Odenkirk) being accused of being a robot. After finding a bag of batteries in his lunch bag, he cries out with anguish, “I am not a robot!” Just curious. 😊

I didn’t say I was in a t-shirt while it was -7. I said I’ve been the only person out in a t-shirt multiple times since we’ve been here. When it’s been 10 degree out, people here are still in jackets, but that’s like 50 Fahrenheit which warm by Seattle standard.

I believe it's legal some places. I don't smoke it so I don't really pay attention to the rules for it.
