When you break down the beat like this it's amazing how the rhythm sounds nearly identical to Rape Me and Dumb but also still sounds like completely different songs. As far as creating melodies, I can't think of a whole lot of people better than Kurt
Kurt was one of the greatest geniuses of the 20th century and Nirvana is my favourite band. That being said I find the similarities between those songs to be too close to Teen Spirit. They should have been B-Sides. Kurt said himself that there could have been a few more good songs on In Utero and I agree with him. It's not really a finished album. Tourettes is an amusing throwaway that shouldn't have made the record, Dumb and Rape Me are very similar to Teen Spirit. Basically just reworkings of it. Pennyroyal Tea is great but Kurt wrote that song like 4 years before In Utero. Kurt only wrote like 5 original songs for that record that were new.
@@Polyfusia that's partially because his mental and physical health was hanging by a thread at that point. He was probably in the worst condition he could've been when making In utero. If you take the time to research Kurt you'll realise that it's a miracle he was even able to make an album.
Ok it's January and I have until march to learn this song to perform to my school. I'm singing and playing guitar. This is helping me a ton as this is the first song I've learned where the guitar and lyrics play at different times.
