The repeated claim of killing 99.9% bacteria on many of these products is meaningless with qualifications. Is the 99.9% of common types of bacteria on household surfaces or 99.9% of the type of bacteria most vulnerable to heat in a surface area of 1 square mm? Showing steam-cleaning of chrome water tap is misleading. Steam may remove grease & smudges but not hard water stain. Holding a 2.2-litre detached steamer to scrap clean a tiny irregular surface must be challenging and tiring without a hose attachment. The designer must make up the mind on designing a steam mop or a hand-held steam cleaner as versatility would result in compromises in both functions.
