I am an old fart that was around in the 60s purchasing many of your albums when they were new. Glad to see someone in your generation appreciating that music. And you’re correct, early Fleetwood Mac is the best :-)

You’ve helped me finally buy a record player! Let’s do this. Love your enthusiasm. Thanks for all the effort you put into these videos! So fun to watch.
Agreed! There was a fire raging in music during the 60-70s. This fire spread into the music of the 90s, and by that I mean Nirvana, Soundgarden, STP, Smashing Pumpkins, Chili Peppers, etc. I hope those embers can save music again soon!
@@abigaildevoe " The Fool " did so many really cool things in the 60 ,s - i can t even begin to name them all !!! ( the clothes - the designs .... the ultimate in groovyness -🌷)
hi everyone, looks like my first videos have made it to the vinyl community! thanks for the (mostly) warm welcome to youtube. link to part 2 in the description!
Ok , Abby , you have truly won my heart now. Among your albums shown here , you have " Psychotic Reaction " by the Count 5 , and Dennis Coffee & The Detroit Guitar Band ! You ARE my musical soul mate. Keep up the good work ! You truly know your stuff ! , Dean ( in Syracuse) 🌞
Right back to the big bang. Picking stuff you love off the shelf holding it and putting it back again is a delight. Works for books as well. It's great to see something near the beginning when it's going to become, well, GREAT.
As a new fart born in the late 90s I am amazed at your 60s vinyl collection. I listened to all my music on streaming (I have no money!) and always wished to purchase my favorite 60s vinyls.
Early Mac superior? Layla best Clapton album? You go girl! You know music that’s for sure. For me Layla is the greatest guitar album ever. PS Loving Lana is totally right on as is having a Kiss count of ZERO in your K section. Finally my Physical Graffiti tattoo was done in the tattoo parlour just to the left of the building in St Marks Place, NYC
I really loved your video, your taste is impeccable. And I related to you so much when you talked about Brockhampton and Death Grips, I was also in college when they hit their peak, so I have a lot of nostalgia for their stuff (and no, liking Death Grips does not make you insufferable, it makes you very cool)
Another old fart here from the 60s record buying public. The incredible work you put into these videos is a gift to all of us who love these discs. I gave all my albums to my daughter a few years back. There's duplicate copies of some because I literally wore them out and repurchased them when I could scrape up a few bucks. It's nice to hear about some of these forgotten treasures and to see some of the magic from those times passed forward to another generation.
Just dropping in to say I love seeing people find things they love in all this stuff! I was born in '68 so my heyday of collecting was the 80's. Lots trips down to NYC to get import 12" of Depeche Mode and the Cure. 🙂 Love the range in your collection and look forward to seeing what other music you find.
So fun. Thank you for showing us your collection! The best Billy Joel album, however, is The Stranger. I don't think you could be set for Billy Joel without that one.
Hey Abby, it's really cool to hear someone who's so knowledgeable about music talk about their collection. Kudos for loving Strange Days. Definitely my favorite Doors album & I was lucky to get the RSD mono version. I was at Barnes & Noble recently & saw the Arctic Monkeys AM staring at me. LOL. I'll take this video as a sign that I should get it. Thanks!
Very cool collection. You can tell your a genuine collector as your passion comes across. Passed on a copy of "the fool" record recently. Gutted now, especially after your "what a fairy would listen to on acid" lol.
I really like the way you talk about music, I have lot a music too and a pretty good knowledge about music from ‘50 until now. I was greatly surprised to learn new stuff from your description. I can imagine the work of research you did each time. I must say that I prefer your long vinyl Monday episode. I’m 65 yo and music is part of life since I was 13. Thanks for posting, I really enjoyed it. Long video, which I'm sure most folks today don't have the patience for it, but this was the exception. Your commentary on each album was interesting and entertaining/fun. On to part two ....
Your shows are alot like college radio was. You feature alot of the less commercial bands along with classics. That's what I'm dieing to hear. New music from a time that was so great. Thanks!
That Blood, Sweat & Tears album is incredible. My favorite by them. It's like the antithesis of a "sophomore slump". David Clayton-Thomas is an incredible singer and brought a ton to the band. Spinning Wheel and You've Made Me So Very Happy are reason enough to own the album. Entire album is incredible though.👍🏻
I have that Pet Sounds/Carl and The Passions double. When the Beach Boys got signed to Warner Bros and left Capitol they took Pet Sounds with them and released that in 1972. They smartly used Brian's original mono mix of Pet Sounds (unlike some Capitol reissues with a tinny sounding reprocessed stereo) so it sounds great and there are some good songs on So Tough ('Hold On Dear Brother' comes to mind) so that's a good one to have
wow i had no idea, thank you so much for telling me all this! i just sought it out because it was in mono. i'll have to remember this for when i talk about Pet Sounds in-depth sometime in the future
Hi Abigail, brilliant collection - You need to get some more Tull though, and some Free, Fairport and Little Feat. And some more Skynyrd, and Purple etc etc
I remember going to see "Song remains the same " at the midnight movie at the westwood mall...back when I was in high school....me and all my friends piled into cars and would go see the midnight movies.
BTW, the BEST George album after ATMP for me is “33 & 1/3rd” that was actually the first solo Beatles vinyl record i got at a used bookstore. Always LOVED “Crackerbox Palace”..
The only Grateful Dead I have is a pristine copy of Europe '72, a kingly gift from a friend whose groovy dad passed away recently. If you find it, snap it up. I really enjoy it and I'm not what you'd call a big fan so it would probably suit you right down to the ground.
Back in the 60s they had record clubs....and my older sis was a member of Columbia record club...and she had a huge lp collection.....so I got turned on to all the good music at a early age.
Glad to see you have a substantial Grateful Dead collection but missing the essential Live Dead. No Guided By Voices (including side projects), over 100 albums to choose from and they still release vinyl.
You GO Girl! You give me hope for the future (another old fart here! 😂). My record collection looked exactly like yours, back in- yikes- 1974! The Muse was just Really active back in the 1960s-1970’s. Not sure why that happened back then, but some very timeless music, art, and literature came out over a short period. My current record collection looks like yours as well! Your appreciation for Bob Dylan, The Beatles (smart girl!!! The White Album is my fave too!). Zeppelin, The Band, etc… I wonder if you were reincarnated from someone living in the Haight-Ashbury area? Wouldn’t surprise me! Anyhow- I’m impressed with your LP collection, your reading material (wasn’t Patty Boyd’s autobiography great?!), Sylvia Plath! YAY You! 🎉 I subscribed. 🤗
Your taste in music very much reflects mine and I dig your appreciation of those great old albums! Peace and have a listen to the Electric Prunes or Clear Light for some good psyche!

@8:03..I saw Bill Haley and the Comets play at halftime at a Philadelphia Eagles game in the 1960s. Rock 'n roll was going through a transition then, and there wasn't enough time distance to appreciate his contribution to music.
Yay for having BB King Live at Cook County Jail. The best live album of his, even over live at the Regal. Curious...how do you listen to your records? Do you have your own personal listening parties? Friends over? Listening while doing dishes? Just wondering how often...as you have an awesome collection. Crazy similar taste to mine. Im also Gemini. June 13. :)
Nice collection. Alan Parsons was a radio staple in the 80's, DJ's back then being mostly dude music geeks favored prog rock type bands like Yes, Peter Gabriel, Police, ELP, Rush etc etc. Girls generally weren't into stuff without a danceable beat
Such wonderful Musical taste! I purchased many of these on vinyl back in the day from 1970 onwards as a young teen. Thanks for sharing Groovy Gemini Girl! Fellow Air sign, Aquarius.
About 10 min in and it's nice to see you collecting old records vs those new pressings. I have many of those you have also. I started with Santana's first record in 1973. Bought it new for 3 bucks. It will grow and grow over the years. I have a "small" collection of about 1300. I have traded another 200 at least that some I'd like to have back.
I’m a man in my early 50’s and I have a copy of “Born In The USA” by Bruce Springsteen, and the Abby Road by the Beatles! Got a lot of some of What you’re showing on CDs. I grew up listening to this music on the radio! Most of the the titles you’re showing I have I have on both lp and compact disc. You’ve got great tastes in music. Keep up the good work!! I would recommend investing in. A good record cleaning brush and fluid like the big fudge or dishwasher brushes sold on Amazon.
Great collection, I have many of the same! When you got to the end of the B's i thought you MUST have Notorious Byrd Brothers... And you did! great album
Hi, I've bought albums since 1983 more or less, I'm a great fan of folk rock, such as the Byrds, Gene Clark, Fairport Convention, David Crosby, Bob Dylan, Neil young, Tim Buckley and Donovan, plus some female artists like Laura Nyro and Joni Mitchell
Niice collection. If you're not a fan already, you should check out The13th Floor Elevators and Guided By Voices. I think they would match your (excellent)taste in music. Cheers!
Really enjoyed checking out your collection, I like you enjoy diversity. Entering my collection from mid 60's on discogs now, up to around 300 maybe another 700 or so. Newer music 80's and up is on CD. Ever heard Air?
I like your album collection especially the ones on Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton two of my favorite artists of all time. My favorite Bob Dylan is Blonde On Blonde and my favorite Eric Clapton album is Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs.
its not about reading music its about being able to play..in order to judge. this was imparted to me by my teacher the late great remo palmier.. he got into it with leonard feather. *by the way john lennon plays some pretty nifty rhythm guitar on happy just to dance with you. he wrote that one for julia in the '50s thx for isolating the track
Mind. Blown. 😳 Black Sabbath, Arctic Monkeys, Dylan, Buffalo Springfield, Elvis, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, James Gang, Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, Joy Division, Killers, Lana Del Rey, Led Zeppelin, oh my! 🏆🥇Your UA-cam channel is going to be huge!
All Alice Cooper up to Muscle of Love are worth getting. I'm an oddity; I love their first two, PRETTIES FOR YOU and EASY ACTION the MOST. More hard psych - a cross between Pink Floyd, Beatles, Beefheart and their own weird Broadway conceits. Real good!!
@@abigaildevoe imo BLANK BANSHEE was a huge step forward for vaporwave; stepping out of being humorous and conceptual and into being humorous, conceptual AND danceable!
BB King is great "Live at The Regal" "best of BB King" and "Completely Well" are three I have enjoyed a lot. Great collection I have quite a few of those in my collection some I never heard of. I have a pretty big collection of music as well.
Hi Abby, very much dig your insights and humor. One thing tho, you're missing out re. Chuck Berry. The Mercury "Greatest Hits" l.p. features later era re-takes of his classics, "The London Sessions" has great live tracks. But the sounds that originally inspired Mick & Keith, John & Paul are on collections like the "The Chess Box", "Golden Decade" (Vol.1-3), or "The Great 28" 😎
I hope you get the chance to add a few more Beach Boys lps to your wonderful collection. Perhaps Sunflower, Surf's Up and Holland would be good ones to start with 👍
I’m afraid you were born 40 years too late! I trying to get my grandson into vinyl.😊 when I moved to California in 1973 gave away all my collection, but since 73 kept them all, even through the cd craze.
I am an old fart that was around in the 60s purchasing many of your albums when they were new. Glad to see someone in your generation appreciating that music. And you’re correct, early Fleetwood Mac is the best :-)
Yes, and Then Play On, Future Games and Bare trees all with the guitar of Danny Kirwan are highly recommended.

The plural of vinyl is, "vinyl'. They are not vinyls anymore than CD's are foils or plastics. They are records or albums.
Do yourself a favor and stick with streaming, and save your money for a house.

My favorite Bob Dylan is Blonde On Blonde and my favorite Eric Clapton album is Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs.
those are my favorites too! i've made videos on them both!
its not about reading music its about being able to play..in order to judge.
this was imparted to me by my teacher the late great remo palmier..
he got into it with leonard feather.
*by the way john lennon plays some pretty nifty rhythm guitar on happy just to dance with you. he wrote that one for julia in the '50s
thx for isolating the track
Mind. Blown. 😳 Black Sabbath, Arctic Monkeys, Dylan, Buffalo Springfield, Elvis, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, James Gang, Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, Joy Division, Killers, Lana Del Rey, Led Zeppelin, oh my! 🏆🥇Your UA-cam channel is going to be huge!
Not here to tell you I have these lps, but trying to find the ones I don't, bring it on!!!
if you somehow have dragon soul too then i applaud you!! have never met anyone else with that album
Love the dead kennidies and the doors your record collection amazing if.
Real good!!
BLANK BANSHEE was 😚⚡🤌🏾
easy action is my favorite record by Alice Cooper! and finally! some BLANK BANSHEE appreciation!
@@abigaildevoe imo BLANK BANSHEE was a huge step forward for vaporwave; stepping out of being humorous and conceptual and into being humorous, conceptual AND danceable!
Cheap Trick One on One and Live at Budokan are killers
BB King is great "Live at The Regal" "best of BB King" and "Completely Well" are three I have enjoyed a lot. Great collection I have quite a few of those in my collection some I never heard of. I have a pretty big collection of music as well.
Hi Abby, very much dig your insights and humor. One thing tho, you're missing out re. Chuck Berry. The Mercury "Greatest Hits" l.p. features later era re-takes of his classics, "The London Sessions" has great live tracks. But the sounds that originally inspired Mick & Keith, John & Paul are on collections like the "The Chess Box", "Golden Decade" (Vol.1-3), or "The Great 28" 😎
Wonderful.
Best Judy album is "Talking With Strangers" by Judy Dyble, late of Fairport Convention.
You're the coolest girl on UA-cam ❤️
OMG I decided to weed down my collection and donated all my Alice Cooper LPs to Goodwill. Regrets! You are so cool!
I hope you get the chance to add a few more Beach Boys lps to your wonderful collection. Perhaps Sunflower, Surf's Up and Holland would be good ones to start with 👍
I’m afraid you were born 40 years too late! I trying to get my grandson into vinyl.😊 when I moved to California in 1973 gave away all my collection, but since 73 kept them all, even through the cd craze.
you need the stranger, an innocent man, and glass houses by billy joel!!
