    I'd love to see these two and a few others in a veterans race on modern superstock bikes in old teams colours.

    Hodgson get out there and back racing, you and Chris battling it out on side cars would raise its profile and be great fun!

    Luckily I was able to see them both racing at Assen in WSBK. I was there when "The Stalker" won the wet race. Both very relaxed in the paddock as well.

      I'm pretty sure they actually do. Search the "Sidecar TT".

      I know a guy who did the TT in 1986 as a side car passenger. He told me on Sulby Straight they were up to 189 mph.

    As a kid I dreamed of racing a side car. Never had the chance. now that I am old it's just a regret

    For the next time: can you show the cockpit and explain how to controll this sidecar. Is it the same as a motorcylce?

    • @sidecarbod1441
      @sidecarbod1441 5 років тому +1

      The controls are more or less the same but the gears are on your right foot just like old 'Brit' bikes. You can set the gears up to be kick forward to go up the gears or the other way around. The gear lever tends to be a horse shoe or fork shape with your foot in the middle of it, you just kick forward or back to change gear. You have a normal throttle and clutch lever, your left foot is the brake and it brakes all three wheels, you can adjust the brake bios of the brakes. How do I know...clues in the name!

    I only know two things about this guy. 1). Anthony Gobert pissed in his helmet. PRICELESS. 2).He went to race in the AMA thinking he would clean-up,but they handed his arse to him.

      jimmy mushman well here’s a 3rd thing you should know. He was the World Superbike champion in 2003

      6 yrs late to the party lol. Wasn't an American who "handed him his arse." Seem to remember it was an Australian fella. In fact, he handed the American's "their" arse seven times!

    • @YouCantSawSawdust
      @YouCantSawSawdust Рік тому

      @MrKips1 By Hodgson's own admission,they smoked him.
      Mat Mladin and Ben Spies both smoked him.
      He said so himself in an interview that is on UA-cam.
      Hodgson said he thought he would come to America and clean up,but with a smile,he admitted he couldn't get near them.
      Just to prove these two riders were at a much higher level than Hodgson,Aussie Mat Mladin was asked how he thought Ben would go in his first year in World Superbike.
      Mat said,without any hesitation,"Oh,he'll win it!!"(That interview where Mat said that is also on UA-cam)
      And Ben did.
      On an unfamiliar bike(Yamaha),on circuits he had never ridden before,on unfamiliar tyres and on his first foray outside the USA.
      To sum up,it wasn't my words "getting his arse handed to him",it was,Hodgson himself...do your research.
      You will find the interview with Hodgson admitting it on UA-cam.
