- Assistive listening devices are helpful for churches, but do you REALLY want to keep batteries in another set of devices every week? What if you could use people's phones for real-time assistive listening and translation?

In another 20 years, this will be great. The curernt generation that need listening assistence don't have smartphones, or don't feel comfortable using them.

Yay you’re back!
what a blessing!! Thanks for the info!!
amazing audio solution 👌
Amazing! Any alternative apps to this?
This was helpful. We may try and use this for a simultaneous Spanish church service.
Did it work?
Yes we have been using live voice for over a year.
NOiCE
Headset buddy converts line level to mic for iphone (anything with 1/8 headphone input)
I use it to run sound from the aux out on my mixer to my ipad for streaming to facebook.
Nice! Thanks for the tip
One thing to consider when choosing a solution is the technical level of your audience. Many of our older members do not even have a smart phone.
True
@@AttawayAudio Not to beat a dead horse, but I find that if an older member has a smart phone, they typically get stuck at how to download the app. Seems like someone in the church would need to educate the listener on how to use the app. If this can be streamlined, this sounds promising. Thanks for the info. We may do this.
What’s “it transmits pretty close to real-time” in your experience? Milliseconds? Seconds?
Less than 500ms for sure
Is this better than using google Meeting?
I haven't compared it directly. But can you keep everyone else muted in Google Meeting? I could see that going sideways quickly.
It serves a different purpose than Google Meeting, Zoom, Webex or any other conferencing software. LiveVoice would not be a good replacement for streaming your service or production to a wide audience. From their FAQs.....
LiveVoice is the perfect solution for simultaneous translation at large or small conferences, business meetings and church gatherings, as well as silent events and audio transmission for guided tours.
