It’s strange…. Ok ima OG so my perspective is based on a broader canvas than a younger person. I seen more life so I get the bigger picture. Lived long enough to see what don’t work. The things these guys are saying, if heeded, could transform a nation! “America” ( and I fight to believe that America is not a dirty word. Cause it’s not) Was the leader of the world because of words like this! Go back in history. To the days of radio. Leaders would speak of great things. Freely on the open airwaves. And the nation would raise their kids on the truth that resonated from them. Today, there are rappers that resonate that same kind of truth. But Americans can’t take advantage of them because we’re so divided. Forget about “race” for a second. Can we simply discern truth and work it into our lifestyles? A little here a little there. What’s the common denominator between these two men? Work ethic and “stick to it ness”. See “ free speech “ allows new thinking into your hard drive. Oppressed speech does not. Could Jay and J. exist in another country? I think not. Other countries have quasi free speech but not the power and profile of the USA. If Jay-Z farts in Brooklyn it’s heard around the world. That’s not because of J it’s because of America. Don’t get that messed up. We are still a blessed nation! One of the blessings is the free exchange of information. A little here a little there. Somebody could watch this video today and have a completely changed life trajectory tomorrow. Life is like a parent watching their child take its first baby steps while kneeling across the room saying “ come on you can do it”. The baby will fall. But if it stands back up the parents say again “ come on you can do it”. YOU ARE THE FIRST GENERATION THAT EVER HAD THE CHANCE TO FIX THE NATIONAL MINDSET WHEN IT COMES TO RACE AND A MORE PERFECT UNION! That’s what dawned on me while listening to this video. In the old days, those who got rich kept silent. There guys discovered ( especially J..Cole) that when you get to the top, the real work is just beginning. Life has never been about “stuff”. It’s about the stuff that matters. Work! Stumble! Fall! Get back up and take advantage of true American opportunity. The happiest most satisfied people I know are not “ ballers”. They’re the ones that lived for a purpose greater than themselves.

I personally don't believe in God, at least not as a perfect or all poweful being. But my mentality is to give back to the world and remember that I am not the center of it all. I know faith can be a great thing but it can't come to me, so I hope that if your beliefs are true, your God can forgive me for not believing, as long as I try as hard as I can to give back and put positiveness in the world.
