In Spanish, the word ingrato, also carries a sense of cruelty, unfeeling, and disdain for the other person. The English translation, ungrateful, just doesn’t completely convey this depth of meaning. That was really nice. Better--I have to admit--than I thought it would be. It must be difficult singing this stuff when you have the likes of Giuseppe di Stefano looking over your shoulder who floats "core, core n'grato" into the heavens with his superb pianissimo.
