I’ve built one of these before I built the Char one and for anyone who’s interested be warned your fingers are gonna hurt real bad on this one I highly highly recommend using tweezers for the pipes especially the ones on the waist
Yooooh that flat coat is amazing. I like it a lot more the gloss. It gives it a high quality look in my opinion. Like makes it look not so much like a toy. Nice job
You frosted the hell out of the Char eye. My advice is to remove it and rub it out with rubbing alcohol. It'll take that lacquer based clear right off.
You’re the first person to ever comment on this. That was the second kit I have ever used a top coat on and that mistake still haunts me to this day. Thank you for the advice! I’ll definitely give it a try. 🙏
This is actually the second kit I ever built and it's a pain to get the sticker on the eye if you don't have a exacto ( my first was the high grade Zaku 2 red comet)
Just get a pink Dspiae marker, tada. But anyway, exacto knives cost like 7 dollars, go get one, it should be mandatory for model building. It's essential for nub cleanup as well as cleaning up paint.
@@tedhodge4830 to be completely honest I forgot I made a post here but I should probably make an update. I'm getting better at doing these model kits and I got myself a knife and a part separator. I'm actually moving on and thinking about hitting a Master grade sometime soon... Just got to figure out which one I should do.
"Easy to find" - I can't find the classic green one anywhere :,,,( But I grabbed the Char version at a discount. I hope they reprint my beautiful green boy soon.
The Zaku is what got me into Gundam as a whole. I love this mobile suit. I remember the all Zeon game on PS2. I can't remember the name at the moment but, damn was I happy AF to have gotten it. I think it might be something like Zeonic Front
@@artofplasticthis is kinda not true……. With how tamiya panel line accent is the fluid is prone to making plastic brittle/crack I would more recommend using a pour type marker they are cheap, inexpensive and very easy to clean and less likely to crack plastic
Man, is that JUST the matte topcoat? It looks great. Maybe I can get into this hobby and not have to invest the time and money into the painting aspect of it!
Yes sir! Panel liner and two coats of the matte spray. I find that taking the time to do these two steps well + applying included decals really takes the kit to another level for an amateur builder like myself. 😅
@@artofplastic Yeah, ever since I heard about the possibility of them “frosting,” I’ve been worried about trying the matte top coat. Especially since it’s winter and I’d need to go outside to spray the model parts (I’ve heard cold is another thing that causes the frosted look). But maybe the thin coating (and doing two coats) is the key. Yours sure turned out well.
@@tedhodge4830 I build both the MG Gelgoog 2.0 and Gouf 2.0 last month and I prefer the Gelgoog. The problems I had with the Gelgoog and Gouf were the hands holding the weapon and keeping the armor in place which I fixed with the Dspiae glue pen.
There’s the new mg dom, the mg gyan, the mg gelgoog 2.0, mg gouf 2.0, mg sazabi ver ka, mg sinanju ova version, re/100 zaku II fz, hg messer (not sure if it’s zeon but it looks zeonish), and the hg zaku ii revive! All great kits

damnn flat finish looks soo gooooddd, gloss finish also goodddd now idk which one to choose for the finish :( they both look nice
I would say flat finish make it more realistic look
The zaku is way cooler than the actual gundam
I would have to agree!
Sieg Zeon!
Especially after watching Unicorn.

Wait, this was not painted? I can't believe a flat topcoat alone makes it look this good :o

"enough."

@@artofplastic No prob but be careful with rubbing alcohol it will get rid of all paint but leave the plastic nice and safe
Just a head up, tweazers are essential for the zaku 2.0 buildup because it greatly helps the process of removing the pipes from the tree.
Great tip. I felt like I was going to lose a nail removing those by hand...

Yes
ITS fun till the gas hose part hit 😂
I used to draw ✍️ these when I was a kid 💯🫡
Could you please share what paints exactly you used i wish to do this exact same thing. After watching this i purchased another Zaku!!! Help me!!! Lol
nice kit ! just the flat finisher itself gives such flat/matt look?!
Sieg Zeon!
Preach!
I have the Char 2.0 and I gotta say I had to scribe mine. Just not enough panel lines for my liking.
Did you apply the black liner first or the flat first?
Panel line first, clean up any excess and wait for it to dry. Then you can apply the top coat.

@@artofplastic Two coats! Is each one just a very light spray? I’ve seen some people doing it and they seem to spray it quite thoroughly.
@@ObKling Very light coats, yes. I find if you apply too much at once it can create a cloudy white finish that ruins the kit. Less is more, IMO.

this guy seems familiar to Cherno

Oh and i subbed!!! Lol
My personal favorite gundam
where can i get one
music please
What you used to lining the gundam ??
Actually stormtroopers are the zaku of america
Is the MG Gelgoog 2.0 or Gouf worth buying?
I built the 2.0 Gelgoog, and yes it is worth buying. All the 2.0 master grades I've built so far have been great, on par with anything from Bandai.

It wasn’t until recently until I’ve thought about building zeon or zaku kits. Any other recommendations besides these?

Where can I find this model?
I just bought one off Amazon for about 35-40. (Depends if you have prime for shipping) Can’t wait to assemble it :)
Why does it look like when i lick it it becomes back normal
Where do I buy this
I got mine from Amazon. eBay should have it as well.
Awesome 👏
Did you mean 1979
Yes. Isn’t that what I said? 🤔
Sorry my bad😅
