I used a set of your Magnum roller tip rocker arms on a small block Chevy for 17 years before taking the engine out to rebuild it for a new project. Those rockers hardly showed any wear and probably could have been used again on the rebuild. I bought a new set to be safe. When I removed the old valves from the heads there was no "mushrooming" of the stems so they came out easily. I am impressed by the quality and performance of those rocker arms.
You really have two options. A very popular low cost option is to take the stock rockers and upgrade them with our part# 13702-KIT Rocker Trunion Kit. Or you could upgrade to a set of our Ultra-Gold Aluminum Roller Rockers - part# 19024-16. Hope this helps.
I have some 302 stock Ford heads (1968 I think?) with a 1967 or 1968 stock 289 block. I want to add one of your mild cams and roller rocker setups to get a little more off idle torque and maintain a very smooth idle. I already have a Edelbrock performer intake, I will be using a Holley 4 bbl. Will not be racing it, maybe just show off at a red light once in a while if needed. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Question!! For a 1:1.8 ratio and lift of 0.680 Which rocker would be a better option? the Ultro pro is to 0.650 and the Ultra Pro XD is from 0.700. The Ultra Gold does not come in 1:1.8. A little lost!!
What rocker arms will fit on a pretty much stock engine heading to a mild build? It's a 5.7 vortec? 98 k1500 Z71 the valve covers are stock right now till I find a pair that'll work lol
Also I should mention I'm not going for the stock looking ones lol but a good middle class and up rocker if that makes sense. Something u can look at and tell it isn't stock I guess would be a good way to say it. But do plan on doing all valve train with comp cams parts but for now has to work with stock engine
@@jjmccloud did you find the answer to this question? If I remember correctly the 5.7 has a 1.5 ratio stamped rocker. I believe the magnum steel ones above in a 1.6 ratio will give you room to grow and still fit.
The highest RPM of a "single" rocker was 7500. Above that was the shaft mount. I'm looking at canted valve heads, and am hoping for a 9-10k redline. Camshaft won't have lift TOO high. Will any of the "single" rockers withstand RPMs that high?
Thanks for your message. Our techs will have a few more questions about your overall setup before they will be able to make a suggestion; please email mmaxwell@compcams.com or call 1.800.999.0853 and those guys will be happy to help!
Ah shit dads old 68 Ford 289 holds 6000 RPM with the stock factory steel rocker arms. Over tightened them once and bent a rod. But never done it while racing
High energy rockers didn't work with my gt40 heads. They rubbed on the guide plate which caused damage to the bottom of the rockers and the locking nuts keep backing off. This made my motor start missing and wouldn't idle. The tech guy had no answers even though I asked all the questions for fitting when ordering these.Lucky I didn't damage the motor, couldn't return them so I'm out. $179.99 + tax.Thank God my friend had a set of pro magnum that worked.
It will depend some on your application and overall engine setup. If you call our CAM HELP line at 1.800.999.0853 our tech guys will be happy to help you out. Thank you.
We appreciate it! Thanks so much for watching!

Video was quite helpful and informative.
Thanks, if I went the Ultra-Gold rockers what ratio would I need?

You always want to have some headroom with your rockers when looking at lift. This is due to rocker geometry.

Does anybody know how many pounds of boost the Ultra Gold rockers can handle with .636/.622 lift?
Can't wait to be shifting at 7 grand. Hehe
what a joke nothing but a tv ad this tells nothing
