Harold passed away about a year after this aired. Rest In Peace sir, you preserved so many amazing autos that could’ve been lost if not for you. Thank you.

Very sad to hear of Harolds passing. You were a wonder man to work for, you helped me many times. I think of you almost every day and will continue to do so.
I worked for him in the shop welding dumpsters. That was back in 1977/8. Nice guy, I worked afternoon-evenings. I remember he used to come in chat with everyone during our dinner break on the old bus that was our break room. 😀.
Marymount should be on every car enthusiast's bucket list. As good as this episode of MCCTV is it barely scratches the surface; the property is 70+ acres and after the visitor gets saturated strolling through the inside collections there's a whole new world outside and in the back. The cliche "It boggles the mind." is operative here.
Hi Dennis, i have watched many of your videos but this has to be the best. Watching this i can understand why you would say it was one of your best days ever. Mr LeMay was truely a national treasure. Sorry to read in the comments that he had passed away. Good luck to the family keeping his vision going. Can't imagine topping this vudeo. Thanks Dennis.
Fantastic Collection. Met Mr. LeMay at his Annual Car Show a few times in front. He was an amazing man. He was very humble wearing his overalls and plaid shirt and enjoyed watching the visitors enjoy his collection of cars. Most people that came in did not even know it was him. I always Thanked him.😊
I'm blown away with the amount of classic and collectible cars everyone of them looks like they just came off the show room floor wow I love this diverse collection Rest in car heaven Mr Lamay
I did not grow up with the internet. It amazes me that there are an unlimited amount of things that I could watch to keep myself entertained and yet this is the third time I have watched this episode.
God Bless this man Harold LeMay. He has preserved Amerian history with his passion for colleting. There needs to be a museum and I'm glad he and his family has plans to accomplish this. Something like the Barber Motorsports Museum in Alabama. Harold LeMay has left his mark on US History. Of course the LeMay family's plans for this museum must inlude culling his colletion down to the really important vehicles. Selling these surplus vehiles to other colleters and using these funds to establish the permenent Lemay museum. Good luck LeMay family, Harold LeMay was one of a kind. Thank you Harold LeMay.
What drawled me in was the title... I was honestly curious as to the extent of car collection a trash collector could acquire... Glad I read the description to see he OWNED the waste management company. Thus my dreams were shattered

I’m so proud to live in Pierce County where Mr. LaMay has his collection. We wouldn’t have the Automobile Museum in Tacoma it wasn’t for LaMay. God Bless you and thank you for sharing it with us.
I went to the museum and was pleasantly surprised with it. The feature at the time was the James Hetfield Collection, to which I thought, who cares, who's that? Whoa, that guy has vision. And, he can play guitars, too. ;-)
Thanks for a nice reply. The Museum in Tacoma is a fine facility on it’s own because the LaMay family I don’t think are as involved as they were in the beginning but it’s they own collection in those dozens of buildings in Pierce county that is amazing, so proud.
I visited the LeMay collection some 20+ years ago, or whatever portion of it was available, because it's not possible to take it all in one day. The car I remember most was parked at the spot shown @ 0:10 - It was a 1961 Chrysler 300 G convertible with the crossram 413 engine. First one I ever had the chance to examine up close. By the time we toured a nearby BIG indoor facility, my memory slots were overfilled by acres of beautiful cars of every kind. This reminds me I need to go there again. Thanks Dennis, and LeMay family!
I hope Detroit’s old car manufacturers buildings ,will one day be restored to house collection’s like this one. This unbelievable collection needs to be housed ,and appreciated for what the 20th century was evolving towards. I hope someone , like these people, will have that vision, for the future.

Loved seeing this video again. It's important to remember that there is two uniquely different Lemay museums in the Tacoma area. One being the Original and oddly somewhat forgotten Lemay Collections at Marymount. This collection in on 88 acres has over 500+cars and many historic artifacts collected by Lemay Family. It is open 6 days a week and you can also get a tour of the Lemay homestead with its 300+cars and Nancy's famous doll collection. The other Lemay collection is America's car museum. This is the more publicized museum next to the Tacoma dome. It Represents a few of Harold's cars and quite a few from other collections. I recommend you take the Time to see both of these museums.
I've been lucky enough to visit this place a few times! It is breathtaking! Riding the London high top bus to the largest off-site portion was fun too! Look up "LeMay family car collection" it is his car collection just at his property not Tacoma LeMay Museum. In my opinion it is better than Tacoma for the true car Enthusiast. Feels more like you're at a friend's and less like you are at a Business wanting your money. Well worth the time about 20 mins south of Tacoma Museum. This way was shot at his house. He had several properties all in the area of his "Collection"

Tacoma, think endless mildew && mold, rain salty seafog and atmospheric rust, i would move the whole mess to eastern Wa or somewhere dry to preserve the cars without needing yo create a climate controlled indoor stadium.
Wow! The value of that collection must be astronomical! Looking at the cobbled together collection buildings strikes fear in my heart. I didn't notice a sprinkler head anywhere. Most of those buildings look like tinderboxes and would go up in flames in minutes taking all of those incredible cars with them. With that kind of money he should really build a safer building complex to house them.

I've been trying to write something nice about this man but nothing worthy comes up. But Dennis said to him. I want to be you when I grow up. Is the nicest thing I've ever heard somebody say to another. This guy is so genuine so lovable. He truly enjoyed what he did.
Most car guys are anyl retentive azz--oles. including this smug moustache guy with this 20 minutes of comparing his own toy world of envy to this eccentric gear head hoarder. Times change fast, as they have in my 70 some years, wont be long until most people will have very little interest in this part of collector history.
That was one of my favorite shows that you done Mr Lemay is a really nice gentleman I have met him personally and worked on some of his cars through Murray motorcar the shop I worked for
Dennis. This without a doubt is your finest video. God bless you sir for spending the day videoing this wonderful facility. So sorry to hear of Harold Lemay passing.
I've lived in Tacoma for over 26 years, and I point with pride to the LeMay Museum in Tacoma (by the Tacoma Dome) AND the old Marymount campus, where most--if not all--of this footage was shot.
I could tell Harold was a very smart, yet practical man with a truly great business sense simply by listening to his humor. High IQ yet down to earth type guys, those who have embraced life with all of it's challenges and come out true winners they are the very best examples for life that you could ever hope to know.
Here in Houston TX there was a FANTASTIC collection of juke boxes. The owner passed away and the collection was thrown to the 4 winds! All of it auctioned off to the highest bidder. The surviving wife was only interested in maximum cash. I hope some rich people will see to the preservation of this fantastic collection.
Seeing this fantastic collection of cars amazed me and made me think of the Volo Auto Museum in Volo IL which I have visited twice and would love to return to again

Rest in peace sir.Thank you for the collection would love to see it in person just incredible. The saying goes he who has the most toys wins he certainly did.
Unbelievable collection, glad that more of the public will be able to see it one day, maybe even me on the other side of the Pacific, sad to hear of the great man’s passing.
That was one of my favorite shows that you done Mr Lemay is a really nice gentleman I have met him personally and worked on some of his cars through Murray motorcar the shop I worked for
Oh wow, very cool!!!!!! 👍👍🙂
FANTASTIC,Best I have ever seen. Great video thank's for posting.
Cool collection.
Dennis. This without a doubt is your finest video. God bless you sir for spending the day videoing this wonderful facility. So sorry to hear of Harold Lemay passing.
Just keeping them clean would be a full time job. Fantastic cars
High IQ yet down to earth type guys, those who have embraced life with all of it's challenges and come out true winners they are the very best examples for life that you could ever hope to know.
could you imagine inhearting that collection!!!!damn!!!
I had no idea this was in my backyard! I guess I'll be spending the next few weekends exploring this collection.
Seeing this fantastic collection of cars amazed me and made me think of the Volo Auto Museum in Volo IL which I have visited twice and would love to return to again
Incredible 👍
WoW!!!!!!!! Eat your heart out Jay Leno.
Reminds me of Pioneer Village in Minden, Nebraska.
Thanks this is AWESOME Harold likes 👍 the same cars I like THANK YOU HAROLD
An AMAZING collection by a man who followed his dream! I hope to someday visit the museum.
Crazy literally toured the museum a few days ago and this video shows up on my youtube feed!
I lived 10 blocks from his place and had no idea how much was there. I knew from driving by he had some neat stuff but from the street you'd never know
@@LydiaAnderson-f3l Hi Lydia, do we know each other? My memory is not the best.
