Looks like paradise! Fyi: we had bamboo on our property and learned that if you cut it, it grows more and spreads! We learned the hard way and were wondering why it kept spreading but the roots/rhizome underground grow sideways and pop up elsewhere. If you want to get rid of it, it is best to dig it up by the roots.

Bamboo is a rhizome; the roots grow like ginger. If you cut it back it will still have the rhizomes in the ground and resprout. You'll need to pull it up by their roots/rhizomes.
Check out how to make bamboo shoots and cook them. Might as well eat them for all of the trouble they are.

You could de-seed, then freeze those longans and take a couple out to use as a 'sweetener' for your smoothies, or ice creams, etc etc. I used to do that w/grapes. I never use any artificial sweeteners, not necessary w/frozen grapes, bananas, etc etc...

Dr. Goldners Hypernourishing smoothies (16oz greens, 0.5 cup flax, fruit just enough for flavor) and drinking 60oz of water a day fixed my insane period pains after I had a stressful move. I did the extra hydration and smoothies 3 days a week for a few months and now my period pain is highly diminished and back to normal. I didn’t follow the protocol perfectly but it still healed me fast.

I heard that if you cut bamboo it just grows back faster. You have to dig it out. I saw on a documentary on bamboo farming. They cut it to increase its yield. So that’s why it’s growing back. Get a skid steer. If you can get one up there and just dig it all out otherwise you’re just gonna have little baby shoots coming back Time after Time or figure out a way to sell it and harvest it. Lol.

by Julia F. Morton (Author) Recommend you get this book. Incredibly useful advise on planting, pruning and maintenance of tropical trees. Its expensive but worth every penny. Best wishes ❤️ Copied this from an earlier comment I made. This really is a very useful book for anyone living in a tropical place. I’ve spent many years working in the Caribbean, one of my friends whom owns a large property on one of the islands swears by this book. He has over 110 different fruit trees and is constantly referring to the book. Hoping you see this, Best wishes

how deep are bamboo roots? You need to pull them out, or is that useless? I am dealing with baby palm trees. i have to pull them out every month.

it's Kauaei island !! many of those plants are only found there. And that papaya is only found there, you can't get there in the true tropics they don't grow it. And that beach she shows is famous, another youtuber called KristinaFullyraw goes there often.

    Love kitchari. Make it weekly.
More things that Derek doesn't like. Haha! What does Derek like to eat? Does he like any fruits? Does he like the kitchari?

Bamboo is a type of fast growing grass. Forget about just cutting. The minute your turn your back it goes wild again. Good luck! LOL!
