Why don't you remove the backing film from the stickers! The symbols will then stick freely. I've just rebuilt mine and it looks better without the square backing film.
Yeah, the stickers could definitely be better, but it's better than nothing I suppose haha. And thanks, there was no way I was going to use a nasty controller with broken thumbsticks like that

They could've just engraved/printed those power and reset logos into the plastic instead of stickers. Nevertheless it looks alright!
