Well-detailed video. Enjoyed the driving videos. I own a 1976 Fleetwood Seventy-Five Limousine. #246 of 834 limousines built for the 1976 model year. Very impressive cars.
@@KlepsGarage Numbers are from two sources (books). The Cadillac Buyer's Guide and Cadillac Fleetwood Seventy-Five. 1971 production numbers were... 9-passenger sedan: 752; limousine: 848.
@@KlepsGarage Probably the 11,118th Cadillac built for the 1971 model year. Check the plate under the hood. Should be able to find the build date. My '76 limo show 10A. Which translates to the first week of Oct., 1975.
The mini bar is an excellent idea! The jump seats are great for extra passengers but whoever has the misfortune of sitting in them gets an uncomfortable ride and the people behind the jump seats lose all their leg room. The jump seats remind me of the checker taxis.
Jumps were mainly used for funeral homes. This car has Always been a private owner I think the formal limo had jumps to, but like you said, waste of time. Thanks for watching.
good to see that you are keeping it in service and are an enthusiast. Curious about the engine change. Know the 500 ci is larger than the 472 ci, but in '71 there were not as stringent emissions controls, which I assume would have made for more efficient and powerful
Wanted the 500 because it is the largest cubic inch engine put in a passenger car to date. See my reply to last comment on horsepower. I did some changes to the 76 engine to turn it into the 1970 engine horse and torque. Thx
Exactly. My dad was a hotel manager earning 10K/year in 1972. His first house was $26,000 and the “rule of thumb” back then was the house couldn’t be more than 2 1/2 times your salary to qualify. When did that rule go out the window? Houses today are over 5X the average salary!
I have driven a 1971 Formal limousine a lot in the 1990's and personally had a 1978 long sedan limousine later for a number of years. Completely stock with grey interior. Enjoyed it very much. Want to have one again. Preferably a 1973, like the Coupe dé Ville I drove for many years. But it must be all stock. There is a 1972 formal for sale in the area, and has been for a decade. Nobody seem to take the bite. Probably because the vinyl roof has been removed, painted white and added the silly boomerang. I would want it repainted black. There is no replacement for these limousines. You just have to deal with finding and training an appropriate driver and treat him well. We always booked hotel rooms for the driver to relax, whilst going to dinners or parties.
That is not a 75 limousine. The limousine had a partition between the front and back compartments. Cadillac referred to it as the series 75 nine passenger sedan
Thank you for the offer. The car is not for sale. I would think you should be able to find a nice one for that amount. (Running and driving ) Check Hemmings and EBay.
1970 was the last year for full horse power, The 500CID was 400hp @ 550Torque stock. The 472 in 1970 was 375/535. Then 1971-1973 Gm went to dished out pistons dropping compression. 1974 to 1976 went back to flat top pistons with large chamber heads. My 500CID now sports flat top pistons with 1971 heads (small chamber) after rebuild. So horse power is adequate. Also knowing what I know now, should have used 425CID heads, with flat top pistons. Thx See more Horsepower info at Cadillaclasalleclub.org

Always cool watching these.
Fleetwood 75 .. The ultimate Cadillac.....The Queen Bee .... These Limo's would make an Escalade move over...lol

I wish I still had mine
Me too. I had a 1972.
Tell me about it!! I had a 1974 white/black interior with the wedding march horns in the front. Still kicking myself for getting rid of it.
8.2L Carburetor V-8. SO COOL! Do you measure fuel "economy" in miles per gallon, or gallons per mile? What a sweet ride!
18 Feet to the Gallon.
Actually, the best I’ve ever got was 16 mpg with stock 3:28?rear in gear 12 to 14 average.
Thx for watching.
@@KlepsGarage That's really not bad for all that car. Thanks for the video!
If you buy a beautiful car like this, you are NOT concerned about fuel mileage 😂😂😂
What was the average salary back then in 1971 if the new Cadillac was priced at 6-7 k USD?
According to Dr. Google. Around 10K. Per year.

I have a 1972 Cadillac fleetwood superior hearse where can I get parts
I don’t know. Over the years I bought a sedan deville and a 74 limo just for parts. What do you need.?
Also didn’t we drill a hole in The trunk floor to drain condensation water and right into the fuel tank?
Why yes, yes we did. I fixed it though back in the day.
