Best fish sandwich I ever had was from a snack shack at Grayton Beach in the Florida Panhandle, back in about 1983. Was on a weekend trip with friends, wandering around, decided on a whim to try out the food at this ramshackle little seaside take-out place. For maybe $7 or $8 I received a huge slab of grilled fresh grouper on a kaiser roll with lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo. Simple approach but the grouper was soooooooo good and had probably been caught less than 24 hours earlier. No idea whether that snack shack is still around but an equivalent sandwich today would probably cost upwards of $50.
Had I wanted Salmon, why would I have ordered a Philly Cheese Steak? WTF is wrong with these people? "Have You Ever Bitten Into a Fresh Arugula Salad and wish that it had been made out of Ground Beef?"
Kind of surprised there wasn’t a feature on Alaska halibut. Lots of ways to prepare & serve it, but it’s hard to beat either blackened or beer battered. It’s absolutely my very favorite
Oh man! I remember real Lake Trout sandwiches at this restaurant in a marina by Bayfield Wisconsin. My father worked at the marina so we visited that restaurant frequently and they had the freshest fish! You could see them take it off the boats from your seat! So light, flaky and scrumptious!
There used to be a fish market in New Holland, PA and they also had a location at a market in Leola, PA that made the best Blue Fish Sandwiches, lightly breaded and pan fried and topped with a big brush of melted butter on a fresh toasted bun. Delicious!
Everyone needs to check out Colemans fish in the historical centre market house built in 1849 in wheeling w.v.they have been in business many years and are a local favorite.visit and get a taste of good seafood friendly people and historical charm.
@@TheViper329 now you can get it so many different places you just have to ask. I don't know if you're in Philadelphia but if you are I'll tell you a few.
I love fish sandwiches. When I look at your video though, I'm not looking too see who makes the best fish sandwich, I'm looking to see if even one of these places is in reasonable driving distance near me. I go into the video assuming that I will never be able to try any one of them because the chance that even one of them is near me are remote. I'm not getting on an airplane and flying across the United States just to eat a sandwich. even though this is a well-made video it only benefits the people who live near these businesses.
I will travel for a Jasmine's Famous Roast Beef in Seabrook Nh. FRESH LOCAL fish fillet More than enough for two sandwiches. Not cheap but worth every cent.
Who makes your favorite fish sandwich?

No, I never think about wanting salmon when I eat a Philly cheese steak.
Salmon is too fishy, much prefer cod, catfish, or halibut for a sandwich or taco.
Salmon is good “fishy” yum
It takes 3 days to digest steak, red meat. Colon cancer on the horizon, philly man.

Fish and tartar sauce go really well with each other.
Especially the salty tartar sauce. I hate the sweet stuff.

I love fish sandwiches. Surprise surprise: I live in Texas and didn’t recognize one single restaurant name. I am absolutely starved for good fish.

Is it bad I have never heard of these places before?
So the fish comes from the ocean and they call it lake trout! Can you call a fish from a lake seafood?
And it's whiting, not trout!
You missed the best: Wholey's on the Strip in Pittsburgh.
