Wow! This song keeps getting better and better for me. When I first heard it I loved it for it's nice melody and great singing. I assumed it was Allan on vocals and was shocked to learn Terry actually sang it. That gave this song another special meaning for me. Now I find Terry also wrote the song. Oh gosh. I really wish he hasn't quite the Hollies.
The first two albums I ever bought were The Hollies "Distant Light" and The Best of The Guess Who, picked them up at a yard sale when I was 10, loved every single song on both albums but something about Cable Car just struck home with me. I still listen to it regularly {and ALWAYS have} it's on numerous playlists on my computer, several mix CD's and on my Ipod. It takes me to a wonderful place every time I hear it. If I love a song I love it forever and this one is easy to love!
Thank you so much for posting this song on youtube. This side A of the album is one of my favorites. I'm wondering if you can post both "You Know The Score" and "Little Thing Like Love" too. Thanks again.

I smile all day long when I re-discover lost gems like this... the Hollies are super under-rated.
Beautiful song by Terry. Love❤it

Gorgeous song by Terry, outstanding vocal by Mr Sylvester. A gem.
I first heard this song in the early 1970's & loved it ever since. Good video as well.
Distant Light and Evolution. Two must hear Hollies albums.
This is Terry Sylvester singing on lead. He also wrote this song. Thank you for posting!
I love the hollies, great underrated band
This is Allan Clarke singing lead. Terry recorded a version for one of his solo album.
Terry's got a nice , smooth voice. Like him more than Nash.
I knew it was Terry.
It would have been wonderful if he had not left. I like his harmonies more than Graham.
Adorei Ivette as fotos de ALLAN!!!
Obrigada amiga, muito obrigada.

A Great Song and a Great Band
Beautiful song written by Bobby Sylvester, flip side of Long Cool Woman (in a black dress) - I've always loved the piano in it, too. Thank you.

Such s lovely song! Thankyou BB NZ
terry's voice is beautiful .he is so sweet with his tygerjacket.
Distant Light was my favorite Hollies albums, Got them out of that "Beatles" Influence, Defined their own sound.
Presente en CAMELOT 1975, en aquella gloriosa Ramos Mejía.
Beautiful!! Thank you so much for the post

Cable Car Ermosa Canción de Hollis
Sorry, I meant Terry Sylvester (I got mixed up with Bobby Elliot)
It's sounds a lot like #9 Dream by John Lennon. It's pretty good though.
Lynn Granata this was 2 years before Lennon did #9 dream
