What did you think of Smallville overall?
The best dc series ever
@@tahaasim4833 biblical
Great show!😁
Awesome show, loved every single episode from beginning to end, to this day I genuinely believe that if Clark disregarded his father's extremely harsh and semi hypocritical Judgment; gave lex benefit of the doubt and told him his secret right then and there when he came to him about his suspicions I'm pretty sure that Lex would have went down an entirely different path where they both would have became greatest allies instead of mortal enemies, sure there would have been up and down moments between the two where Lex's curiosity and thirst for knowledge would test Clark's patients but in the end they would have been able to come to terms with each other and been on the same destiny of changing the world for the better rather than vying for control over the fate of the world, it would have been extremely nice if we had gotten a what if Episode to show that being the case plus rewriting the finale where the alternate version of Lex being the classic villain we all know coming to there Earth and this version facing off against his doppelganger and even though tragically taking his sister tess mercer's place in losing his life being the one to wipe his memory of everything he learned of Clark's identity as Superman symbolizing HIS ultimate victory against his inner darkness as well as a parting gift to team Superman; solidifying his loyalty to his best friend and brother! 💯🔥😁😉👍
Best superhero show
I grew up watching Smallville. It will always have a special place in my heart.
Same here!
@@timgort1173 same here because tom welling's birthday is april 26th and mine is april 25th i got blue shirt and red leather jacket as bike rider
same, sucks tom welling didnt get to be superman in a movie
Yeah that punch in final crisis was perfect end
Same
I hope Welling and Rosenbaum get their animated Smallville series they want. Welling also said he'd be willing to be Superman if it's in Pattinson's universe. We can only hope both come true at some point before he's too old! Smallville is still my favorite super hero show to this day, it paved the way for this generation of super hero shows.
Say it again 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏💯💯🫡🫡
@@whatsyourpointfacts7082 Haha thanks! We can only hope!👍🏼🙏
Did he mention this in Talk Ville? I missed it
@@farmboyfanGaming I believe he did in either talkville or the other channel.
Couldn’t have said it better!! Watching this video brought back all the fond memories I have of this show! The casting of Tom Welling as Clark / Superman and Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor has got to be one of the best castings ever! Would absolutely love to see them come back to either continue Smallville or do a movie, honestly, would love anything they give us 🤣
Smallville was one of the greatest TV series of all time!.. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Smallville was my favorite show. I saw every single episode week after week. Memories
I was so addicted with it that I completed all 10 seasons with total 217 episodes in JUST 15 days.
I literally cried when they brought back Tom and Erica for crisis on infinite earths. And also, I know the CW shows get a lot of shit, and rightfully so, for a lot of their plots and acting and so forth. But that crisis event was the most and definitely more ambitious live action crossover event than ANY of the DCEU live action movies EVER. You had literally 50+ years of cinema and tv shows , live action and animated, getting referenced, cameoed, or playing major roles in this event. MCU and DCEU could NEVER.
What series?
@@kobedagoat_9172
The Flash's crisis on infinite Earths.
And they dropped the ball hard. It was a horrible crossover and was horribly written with so much wasted time on subplots that meant nothing to what was going on. It was incredibly disappointing from start to finish.
@@GamingxKnight It's better than the Flash movie. CW Shows only get certain amount of money, and a lot of characters from previous WB shows and such was a quick cameo.
@@joester4life That isn't saying much. Saying a pile of shit doesn't small as bad as another pile of shit doesn't make it a garden of roses.
Smallville is a MUST WATCH series for me. I did not watch it when it came out. I just watched it 2-3 years ago. And I can not believe that I didn't watch it. Plus, Smallville was the first Superhero series and it started ALL of the other current ones. And as they say after every Podcast, AWLWAYS HOLD ON TO SMALLVILLE.
The first Superman TV series was the Adventures of Superman from 1952 to 1958, with George Reeves playing the part. This was preceded by two "movie serials" (16 minute episodes shown in theaters weekly) in 1948 and 1950 with Kirk Alyn, totaling 30 episodes for both.
The first comics-based superhero movie serial is considered to be the Adventures of Captain Marvel (1941), where Billy Batson is granted powers by the ancient wizard Shazam (yes, the same basic plot as the 2019 film). Movie serials existed before televisions were common in homes.
@@SeedFactoryProject That is amazing. I knew NOTHING about any of that. When I said that Smallville was the first Superhero series, I meant the first of todays Superhero series. But, I didn't specify and I completely understand, AND thank you for enlightening me.
Smallville can never be replaced by any shows for me. I have tons of memories
I miss Smallville....such a fun show❤.
Right! I'm rewatching it with the Talkville podcast and it's so much fun and gives a small bit of a rewatch since it's lex and Clark talking about it with the rest of the cast and soon crew of the show.
I stand by the fact that michael rosembaum was the most accurate lex luthor portrait DC ever had (and probably will have, by the looks of it). The building of that character was really good. Erica Durance was spot on aswell.
This show was beyond it's time.
I watched all ten seasons as they came out on television. Still one of my favorite series ever!
There is season 11 published as comics which finishes the story post-becoming full fledged man of steel :)
@@White1nsane where can i get the comics of season 11?
I watched every rerun episode of 'Smallville' 💗 Loved Superman 🦸♂️. An old fan.😊👍
It was a great show and so disappointed that it doesn’t get the replay the other shows that followed it have.
It was hamstrung by WB, dark side isn’t even a guy and if he was his cg or costume would be trash, things have changed for tv so it’s hard to go back to a show where everything is lesser for no story reason
It was a good show. I just finished re-watching it a couple weeks ago. Only issue I have, Clark fought all of supermans main villains before he became superman
Ehh that doesn't bother me as much as the fact they ended the cliffhangers the first episode of the next season. I thought some of the cliffhangers had opportunities to create interesting opportunities... Clark getting sucked into the phantom zone with Bizarro clark being out in the open. You have half a season of Clark trying to escape where on Earth you have Bizarro clark adapting to humanity and Oliver Queen having to be the town's hero in Clark's absence while the mysterious Blonde haired girl in the midst. Red K clark being a baddie with his family trying to bring him back.
I felt cheated that he only wears the superman suit at the end and we never get a good view of him in full suit. Superman running is not superman. Its the Kryptonian Flash.
@kathleenhensley5951 I agree but kinda see why they did it that way. The no tights and no flights was to show Clark as an adolescent gaining his abilities one by one. I don't know if that was comic book accurate, but I think it worked. Kal-El could fly but Clark couldn't.
The script on that scene between lex and Clark was TV gold.
I kinda loved the story telling way of Clark finally learning how to defy gravity and that THAT is the reason why he is able to defeat Darkseid, as Darkseid is defined as some kind of evil gravity well
Looper is reading my mind since I've recently become immersed in "Smallville"!!!
Ok why does this video come out right as I finish rewatching Smallville
You're the main character
Your in the simulation
Where did you watch it I wanna watch it again

Good question. I'd forgotten how well Smallville's final episodes hold up.
Talkville this Wednesday when "Shattered" is discussed (SE Ep 08)... 👌😂
This was a one of the best series ever
I loved this show growing up! Kept waiting every week for the next episode
I have watched this series from s1 to s10 and this videos recap brings tears to my eyes… ahhhh the memories….
Absolutely the best series of all time. That comes highly because I have always been a hardcore Marvel Spider-man fan. Best Clark, Best Lex, Best Lois, Best Lana, Best Jonathan, Best Martha...hands down. Best series of all time!!!!!
Best show of all time indeed
Not even close to best series of all time
Same I grew up watching Smallville the first REALLY GOOD live action superhero show, it will always hold a special place in my heart
I spent so many years remembering alle bad in smallville I forgot all the good things
I slept on this show after the first few seasons. Time to revisit it.
Thanks for the content!
I Watched This Show, Back In The Day.
Michael Rosenbaum is DA GOAT!!!!!
too GOAT to play Lex again in the CW crossover because he was not given the whole script of the episodes.
To this day I genuinely believe that if Clark disregarded his father's extremely harsh and semi hypocritical Judgment; gave lex benefit of the doubt and told him his secret right then and there when he came to him about his suspicions I'm pretty sure that Lex would have went down an entirely different path where they both would have became greatest allies instead of mortal enemies, sure there would have been up and down moments between the two where Lex's curiosity and thirst for knowledge would test Clark's patients but in the end they would have been able to come to terms with each other and been on the same destiny of changing the world for the better rather than vying for control over the fate of the world, it would have been extremely nice if we had gotten a what if Episode to show that being the case plus rewriting the finale where the alternate version of Lex being the classic villain we all know coming to there Earth and this version facing off against his doppelganger and even though tragically taking his sister tess mercer's place in losing his life being the one to wipe his memory of everything he learned of Clark's identity as Superman symbolizing his ultimate Victory against his inner Darkness as well as a parting gift to team Superman; solidifying his loyalty to his best friend and brother!💯🔥😁😉👍
Interesting, I thought the same thing. I was actually a little disappointed that they decided to go the standard route. I understand why they did, but thought that without the betrayal that Lex felt from his best friend lying to him, he would've turned out to be a better man.
Up,Up and Away!!
What you're describing is more or less what happens in the "Injustice" video games. In that universe Clark and Lex are best friends. The problem in that universe is that when Lois is killed there's no one to stop Clark's grief from turning into a need for totalitarian control like the one Lex has.
very much wrong, they were always going to be enemies because Lex is only able to care for someone if he can control them
@joshthaller4754 That was season 5,6 and 7 lex; not seasons 1-4 lex He was trying in those seasons to be the type of friend and brother that Clark wanted and needed but due to his father's toxic influence and clark Listening to his father's toxic Prejudice towards the wrong member of the luthor family not giving him the benefit of the doubt It kept breaking his heart and driving him further and further into the darker aspects that his father was negatively pushing into him to the point where in seasons 5, 6 and 7 he became the Enemy people kept making him out to be! 💯🔥😁😉👍
Oh my God I love it,🥰😍 Smallville always 😍
I am currently watching Talkville and I'm really enjoying Michael and Tom going back watching the series again.
Me and my brother binged watched all the episodes of Smallville in 4 months. Good old university days...
SmallVille was so good one of my favorite episodes was the one with Flash. Defo need to rewatch at some point.
Smallville was a great show and I enjoyed seeing a more in depth look at Clark becoming Superman. I was so happy Michael Rosenbaum returned as Lex because he was the best incarnation of Lex Luthor. I also like how they brought back Johnathan, Lionel and Martha to wrap things up. The one big issue I had was Tom Welling didn’t put on the Superman suit to end the show. I understood why they didn’t do it in earlier seasons but the moment Clark becomes Superman really deserved that moment. There aren’t many shows I could watch over and over but Smallville is one of them.
Finally understand that y’all should talk more Smallville lol
One of the more science fiction aspects of this show is how supportive his parents are.
Thats so unreal.
Very lovely show😊 Perfect action and ending😊Shame Lex lost his memories. Clark selling homesteade is bad. I watched until evil Clark is flying away from the plant,I think. I watched it with my mom :) Then they stopped the show. Shame. Cool that comic continues the show. Great older Clark and Lois appear in continuation,in the future. And Clark is following his father's foot steps. Not a bad ending at all😊
Smallville was and still is my favorite tv show of all time I got the dvd collection and I no he it on Hulu lol tom welling shoulda played Superman in the movies
This was an awesome video. Although during the crossover if you look closely at Clark's watch you'll notice that it's carrying blue kryptonite. Now we all know that blue kryptonite suppressants a kryptonians abilities which would make sense because Clark because since he had a family would not leave himself or his family defenseless in case he'd have to have his powers to protect the ones he loves.
I never watched the complete series till between november and this month, I remember back in the day people were absolutely mad about the little time he was wearing the suit and not watching him in complete gear during his final scenes. But watching it sequencially makes complete sense, even if he fought a lot of Superman villains he was still way too naive and inexpert in battle, not the Superman that can be seen as overpowered in a lot of iterations. I think is a really well done origin story and the best thing WB has made in live action. Not too mention the best Lois Lane and Lois and Clark relationship ever. It is funny see throught the years how each entertainment trend was depicted in the episodes, you can tell what was popular at the time.
After the writer's strike, I never watched TV regularly again. I cut my cable subscription, downloaded what I wanted and never paid for another movie in the theaters. Best thing that ever happened in saving me time and money.
Smallville was one of does show that show examples to do what is right in the world.
Always hold on to Smallville.
Good job. Good commentary
Always will be my favorite show ever
Smallville is one of my best series ❤️👍
This show started the years of other great hero stories wed get to eventually enjoy thankfully.
I always hated, that the tv channels in my country, never showed more than max season 3 of Smallville. A life time later, i got closure!.
This was great....being I didn't watch the last two seasons. So all of this was new to me.
great show and sad that things have to end but at least its somewhat happy ending.
I loved that the premonition from Cassandra was stuck too for the cross over
Never have been a huge comic book fan, or superhero fan either, not even when I was younger, but Smallville always appealed to me, ever since that first season, way back in 2001 (cannot believe that was over 2 decades ago now!). I always thought that the entire run of the show had an incredible cast, and it was just a great TV show. Just hate everything that happened with the whole Allison Mack situation, but still love/loved her as Chloe Sullivan though.
I loved smallville growing up! My favourite show
I need to go back to smallville cant remember a thing.
A great hero needs great villains.
Lex was great.
Doomsday great
Metallo great
Mixapliz
All the kryptonite freaks
Just a great show!
The ending to Smallville was never even the least bit different to understand
Nice video!!! I hate that they wiped Lex's memory in the finale.
I still remember watching the series premiere
My favorite
Love, love love love.
man, i almost forgot how bonkers that finale is
I loved this show and season 10 was the piece de resistance. I wish Tom Welling would’ve stayed in the game.
Still my number one show of all time
"clark is who I am superman is what I can do"
Smallville and supernatural made me who i am today
Of all the TV & Film depictions of Superman, Snellville is the best with Dean Cane's being a very close second.
I hope they bring that show back
I’m not gonna lie the animated show they announced is likely dead in water haven’t heard anything about it in years
If DC us Smallville as a guide to a future DC they could save the franchise.
I loved Smallville and for its time it was good, a real kick start to the superhero series franchise coming to TV.
I couldnt stand the intro music and sometimes the odd bit of cheesyness. 10 seasons was great and i own them all but i remember saying 10 years later they need to re-release it, starting off were tbey left it as a fully fledge Superman Tom Welling.
It would of been cool to get a the simular vibe and more upto date cgi like we get in Superman & Lois which is a great show.
Yet they could of made this series a 5 season that coincides with crisis on infinate earths and showing what happened with Clark giving up his powers and the Journey from smallville to retirement.
My fav Supes adaptation.
Loved this show, would have been great to see Tom in full suit.
In the future this superman gives up his powers which is a big shame.
(Shown in Superman&lois)
I liked smallville so much growing up that I would of liked him to have portrayed superman in the movies I was sad when he wasn't 😢
But still one of my all time favorite shows hands down.😊
What the hell, I can't remember anything about Darkseid, and I am pretty sure I watched it until the end as a kid. :D
I have a vague memory of him catching metheorite though.
This was the true start of the Arrowverse!!!!
5:30 hits different
Also, the crossover was stupid for having him lose his powers. He was supposed to have them way into the future, it’s such a continuity error, and not to mention the fact he lost his powers like every other season. It’s such lazy writing. If they couldn’t make it to where he was still Superman and he outthinks Lex & still survives, then they shouldn’t have made it in the first place.
If it's Blue Kryptonite it's not an error, he's only taking a sabbatical to be there for his very young daughters for a time, making the Crisis material a mere snapshot of Clark's life with Lois... not quite a definitive explanation point.
Agreed. Totally pointless unless. Hopefully the new anime will restore who is was truly meant to be
i JUST finished watching Smallville (I had never seen the whole series). The first 3 seasons are annoying, not much happens. But starting season 4, the story and the characters get deeper with some good developments. Not a perfect series but i loved watching it! Definitiely iconic. Tom Welling and Erica Durance are the best Clark Kent and Lois Lane (sorry Henri Cavill).
you reed my mind i did watch this show4 times i was born in early 2000s like spider man trilogy because i learned the directors who made this show they also made the screen script of my childhhod spider man 2 so tom welling's birthday is april 26th and mine is april 25th i also wear blue shirt and red leather jacket with superman symbol on it as the bike rider
My favorite show of all times! Could they have consolidated the 100 blah seasons to like 4 or 5 epic/legendary seasons? Yes, but money and all that other stuff. 🤷🏽♂️❤️❤️
What I dislike about Smallville is they always said this was the story of Clark becoming Superman and is the reason Tom has said he’ll never wear the suit. Meanwhile the show tells most of the major Superman stories. It’s kinda like making a show about Peter Parker who’s bitten by a spider, but it takes ten years for him to learn his powers and become Spider-Man, but in those ten years Gwen dies, he finds out Norman is the Green Goblin, Ock becomes Ock, he fights Venom, he joins a small version of the Avengers and gets married to MJ. Like it would all be bizarre and not make sense because almost nothing was left for actual Spider-Man. I can’t remember exactly when it was, but I’d guess at around season four or five the show may as well have just become a Superman show. Nonsensical really. Although I stand by Tom and Michael being the best Clark and Lex of all time.
Agreed. He fought the top villains and he was known as the blur 😂😂😂 bad writing the actors made the characters strong but the writing was piss. For him to never get the suit was just disappointing and anti climactic for a show to do 10 seasons and not one he actually is Superman 😂😂😂 I stopped watching after season 4 😂😂😂 I knew he was never going to give us a Superman on screen.
Then he finally gets the suit and quits.
@@therearefourlights6926he actually never wore the suit. Other actors and CGI were used.
best series ever . Allison Mack ruined the possibility of re-runs.
Is this true?
Yes.@@projectamis4772
One of the best shows ever
I understood the ending when it first aired back in 2011
I literally used to dream about Lois!
I was as stoked as anyone to see Tom and Erica back in those roles, but the ending set by the crisis event is not good at all. IMO the whole point of the show is clarks struggle to realize that not giving up is his responsibility, and that his powers are literally the failsafe of the earth. It also contradicts several episodes throughout the show that show clark as a superheo well into the future (like 1000yrs), Overall I thought it was a nice scene that shows a kind of "what-if" but as a resolution to Smallville it is a bait-and-switch of the most frustrating kind, and very very poor writing.
Again love the show and the hype the talkville podcast is gaining
The season 11 comics shows that Darkseid is a flesh and blood entity, but it seems he has this other form we see in Season 10.
We actually never see Tom in the tights. They always pan to just his head!
I watched it, but only because it filled the need of a superhero series. It annoyed me that, for the longest time, everything bad that happened was due to kryptonite. Then, my wife pointed out that Lana always has to make everything about herself. Literally, right after she said that, Clark had to comfort her when HIS dad died. LOL
Great show for kids to be introduced to their first hero. Overall, all about forgiveness, acceptance, authenticity, dedication, love, real friendship, and much more. The newer DC shows, not a big fan, like Flash. Reason I don't like Flash too much, and it's bad for kids. They constantly teach it's okay to lie back to back endlessly and justify it by telling yourself you're protecting your friends and family. It's not okay to lie in any way or situation.
This teaches young children to literally do this, when they find a hero in this show. Children at young ages are incredibly susceptible to live this way. Their mind is like a sponge for information as an infant, toddler, and so on. If never say with and explained the truth by thier parents, which almost no parents really care to sir with their kids. The electronic babysitter and pharmaceutical babysitter slows the kids down so mom and dad can work and be lazy, facts.
There's an old saying; We as humans are born to only telling lies, Wrong. We are born into this world only being told lies, and if we don't have someone like our parents sit with us and tell us the truth, the curse and confusion continues forever until one day, no one knows what's true or false. And it's happening right now in the world.
Smallvilles ending was just fine, I thought the last season as a whole was pretty bad, but the ending was just fine :)
The arrowverse smallville thing was not fine at all tho, it went against everything smallville stood for.. In that universe Clark apparantly gave up, he finally embraced and accepted his destiny AND heritage(which was the hole point of the 10 seasons) in smallville to then just give up and live a normal life in arrowverse... It was dumb.
Best Lex Luthor that I see in this show.
but from the Elseworld scene Clark Gave Up his Powers
nice to see a reference to @talkvillepodcast in the video.
How do I find their podcast??
It’s on UA-cam. Talkville or Michael Rosenbaum’s “ inside of you” podcast. Also on UA-cam
season 1 maybe 2 the rest was just a mess 😂😂what really sucked was that we didn't get to see him in the suit
We need a Smallville videogame that continues the story with cool flash backs from his past.🙏
this version of darkseid is similar to the batman returns
Chloe’s watchtower turn out to be called Nxivm.
Tom Welling is the best Superman ever
What about this wasn't explained before?
