    SGP stuff is fine, if it works out of the box. If it doesn't, good luck with their customer support. You're better off knowing how to fix it yourself or else just throw it away. After a buddy's results, I won't be buying any SGP products. That display looks like a really bad afterthought, for example. Why isn't it built in?

      Thanks for your feedback, Jason! As for the display, I totally forgot to show this in the video, but the two screws on the side allows you to remove it. Looks like a db9 connector on the back, so maybe the idea is to allow it to be place remotely?

      @@BradCagle - I mean, that would make more sense than, "we slapped this on the front of an existing unit, and it shows". :)

    this looks like a derivative of SRNE

    Its amperage display maxes out at 59.95A. Interesting. It was still wrong showing 44 vs 40-ish. Then 55.6A vs 60A. And then on the 48V system you got 24A vs 25A (ish).
    Offset error on the current sense op-amp circuitry, probably due to an improper placement of the VSS trace, plus a scaling error probably due to improper placement of the sense traces across the shunt resistor. Very common design mistakes, whoever laid the circuit board out messed up.
    Efficiencies are as expected given the input and output voltages. Yet another reason to use 48V system voltages. They could be a bit better, it would be interesting to see how a beefy Victron would handle those configurations in comparison.

    Kind of pricey and not very accurate. Pass. Thanks.

    Interesting that the output Amps displayed is off by so much.

    That’s $100 more than 60a HQST,RENOGY.

    Nice charge controller looks very much like a Victron but not as good..

    Victron is the only true MPPT solar charge controller in my opinion. I would spend that kind of money on a victron!!

    I wonder what the max PV input current is. Does it show in the spec sheet? What does it show on your clamp-on Amp meter on the PV wire when you see E8?

    • @BradCagle
      @BradCagle  3 місяці тому

      The manual says 40a max on the PV input. My panels have ISC of 12a so in the 2s2p config the max possible current would be 24a. Thanks Bud!

    Nice charge controller but I don't like change with no charge amp limit thay will blow up if your solar panels produce more power

    2s2p would a lowered it like I do on 3 60a controllers on rv.
