nice one you put the video back up, I got one sent to australia, arrived in about 2 weeks, no packaging foam around the box, but it survived very nicely, worked first go, bluetooth connected no issues with samsung s7 android. Haven't hooked up solar or load yet but looking good, a real shame we dont have access to same products you have in usa, our population way way smaller I guess is the issue. On the bright side we know what is coming eventually.

@@BradCagle bro the victron was kinda life changing in a way. I mean I know that sounds weird but when I was having the erratic voltage jumping up and down and charge controller turning itself off and just blinking with the powmr I was worried to walk away from it with it hooked up thinking it might destroy my batteries and when it was the leaf batteries I worried about fires. Now with the victron it just charges smoothly and everything just works.
@@BradCagle I just ordered a powermax 24 volt 50 amp converter charger. I have a 100 amp powermax and it's been great but I couldn't find much out there for 24 volt high amp chargers
Another nice find Brad. I was impressed with the last 24V battery builds efficiency that I am now building a 48V system for my camper trailer. I'm using a different approach to solar charging - one mppt boost converter per solar panel (4 solar panels) all feeding the 48V battery. A little on the edge, but I think it will work. The boost converters were pretty cheap, but multiply x 4 and it gets up there. Still, I'll have 4 completely independent solar chargers, so this must amount to exceptional reliability.
That's a sweet idea Ben! I just picked up a 20ft camper trailer myself. There's so much crap on the roof I'm trying to figure out how to get the most solar up there.
@@BradCagle Good luck with that. My camper has a roof rack that swings sideways and puts the solar panels in the vertical, so I've had to hinge the roof rack so I can flip it horizontal again. Adding struts at the moment to make the solar panel flip a little easier.
Hey Brad. I have 2 of these charge controllers one with Bluetooth and one without. The one without Bluetooth is a pain to configure. And the manual that comes with it basically useless as the instructions are tiny and hard to understand. But good value for money.

Great to see an affordable controler, just wary that it's an actual MPPT unit and not a PWM unit with a MPPT markings. Am definitely interested if it's a true MPPT unit.
Haha, I bought the 40 amp one on Prime day. It works well but the load won’t turn back on from the app if you turn it off. You have to press both buttons to turn the load back on…but yeah that higher voltage input is great!

beginner here, trying to understand voltage. if i use say 2 100 watt 12v panels, i connect them in parallel? what if it were 2 100 watt 24volt panels? also, why would you choose either 12 or 24 volt panels? one is superior to the other?
Man, I almost pulled the trigger on the 50a. $84 is crazy low. LOL Yeah the USB fan is a good idea, and the USB ports are controlled from the load port so they could be setup to run only in the day I think.
I questioned using this on a 12v RV because of it being positive grounded. I was told by some at Rich solar that it is unusual to be a positive ground but that it doesn't matter as long as I don't ground it or the panels. There is no grounding wire anyway. 3 days in it is working
Got the E12 error yesterday. Tried different settings and battery configuration and haven't been able to clear it yet. Unfortunately I'm past the return deadline so it may get some percussive maintenance with a hammer. I'm going on a road trip in less than two days so I may have to pony up for a Victron.
Open it up and see if it has the big copper coils that are the signature of an mppt controller. I've ordered so many different models and they turned out to be pwm controllers.

The upc download for the app will download but will not open in the current version of android because of security. I can't find the version on Google Play . Could you please list the full name of the version on Play or maybe give the name of the other controllers that use the same app.
I'm having difficulty configuring this thing. I have a Redodo 12V 200Ah LifePO4 battery and haven't connected the solar panel yet and I'm getting an error 11. The charger controller was $53 when i purchased it last week. I just checked the price for it now and it's $92. I manually selected the LifePO4 battery and the controller rebooted and gets the error 11 right after. Not sure how to fix this.
I purchased the 30A Sunthysis, started testing it out. Unfortunately neither of the USB ports will charge anything (tried conencting it to multiple 12v batteries with no luck as well as multiple USB cables and devices) Despite going thru the settings and setting it to "custom" to adjust the charge parameters for my 12v ,3S 18650 Li-Ion battery (which the voltage range I want to opperate it at is 9.6v-12.6v which means im running the individual cells to 3.2v-4.2v) and it will not charge it. Not sure if this MPPT charge controller is good for custom batteries. Looks like it would be good for the 12v/24v LifePO4 batteries though.

Primary charging is usually done at the absorption setting. Heat sinks work MUCH better when they are straight up vertical. And a year or so later (27 Dec 2024), Sunthysis has mostly disappeared. Amazon has the 50 amp controller ($85.99 just before I posted this) and a lot of negative reviews of that unit. "Worked until it didn't" is NOT a review you want to see on any product of a manufacturer when you have another of their products. Still some Sunthysis pure sine wave inverters and some solar panels but I think they are singing their swan song. Disappointing when they looked so good at the start :-(

That is not bad for the price. I wonder if it does better without maxing out the solar input on 12 volt? I believe it said 260 watts max input and it was around 261. I would say either put fan on the load side to help with the heat on it or mount it to an aluminum panel or something to help dissipate the heat. A small 12 volt computer fan should do it I think. I wanted to check to make sure I got it right, when it says max input 260 or 400 watts or whatever it is rated at, is that the solar panel input or max of what it will put into the battery?
E12 IS battery type issue. I came across code due to this. Set type on physical unit LiFe. Noticed app didn't match, it was LiPo. When I changed it, physical unit changed to LiPo... Error happen. CS and book was no help. After I switched it on unit back to Lifepo4 ,App is moving from SLD or LiPo...within 30 mins. Don't trust app. Major concern is which solar charge is correct... Hopefully it is physically unit.
Brad help me out. The manual stats for my 100/40 Sunthysis controller states positive ground. That confused me. Does this mean i cannot use it in my rv which like every vehicle is negative grounded

His reply was the same they don't make positive grounded controllers, but added that it won't matter because I wouldn't be grounding this unit anyway. So positive, negative grounded doesn't matter

I've seen the pwm ones that are labeled mppt you mentioned. This one is real. I opened it up, and it has inductors and the PV voltage is in the correct range, etc..

It's actually MPPT. I opened it and it has the inductors required for the buck conversion. PWM would not have these

Probably too late. Best advice. Deal with the crap physical unit navigation. Don't see set anything in app. It don't cross correctly.

Also did you set the voltage you want to charge at via the float setting? Thats the one tha matter.
Can u series four 12v 100w panels to charger a 12v battery bank. Or you got to parallel the four panels with this mppt charge controller

Max that goes to the battery. So 20a x 12.8 = 256w but as you know getting closer to full 13.8+ you would get 276w

It's generally considered a bad idea to use a positively grounded controller in an RV, or other negative chassis grounded vehicles/systems.
