This is Part 2 of our Golf Cart Concrete Driveway Series. We're roller-stamping the walkway part and broom-finishing the Golf Cart section.
We combined both finishes in the same pour and I'm showing you how we did it in this video. I've never seen anyone else do both, roller stamping and broom finishes in the same pour.
The pour was unique in itself because of the steep slope we had to deal with. Adding a stamped concrete finish and broom finish just added to the level of difficulty.
The video will show you how we handled mag floating and edging the concrete. Then, it'll show you how we roller-stamped the curved walkway along with broom finishing the concrete driveway.

When do you use a water reducer? High range vs low range?

We always use a mid-range, no matter if we're pouring a 4 slump or a 6 slump. If we want a higher slump (looser wetter concrete) we use a high-range.

It’s very difficult to watch a stiff pour like this. Because in South Ga. the time that is necessary to dialogue and troubleshoot through a low slump pour like this, you simply do not have. “I think so” has to be “Do this!”….Just two mega different worlds.

Really great work, very detailed and gorgeous finish! One quick question: I did a couple of concrete projects at our house, and would like to know the solution (brand name) that was sprayed on the concrete? Is it some sort of sealant?

It is a release so that the top cream of the finish doesn’t stick to the roller.

People please don’t misunderstand what I am about to say. I am not saying they are doing something wrong only that I haven’t seen it before. I have never seen someone walk with a finish trowel like you can with a bull float. I would think that you could gouge the finish with a misstep. I know if I tried it I would, these guys must have some great muscle control.
