Where do caltrax fit into those rear end explanations?

they do basically the same thing except for adding rear steer. if im not mistaken.
I may be wrong in this explanation and if I am, I apologize upfront.
Cal-Tracs work the same as a Ladder Bar set-up, but adds a "hinge" to the front of the bars. On a normal Ladder Bar system, the front of the bars mounts directly to the chassis. The problem with that, as power is being applied to the rear-end, your rear leaf springs begin to twist (turn) upward.
Cal-Tracs uses the power (or force) being generated, applies it to the "hinge" and it forces the front half of the leaf springs back down. What this does is keeps the spring straight, which keeps the rear-end straight, which keeps everything in line for the best bite. I have a similar setup on my truck and the Cal-Tracs System works awesome.
In closing:
Ladder Bars fails to stop axle wrap.
Cal-Tracs uses the power generated to prevent/stop axle wrap.
@@Ironfireman11 that is correct if you are using ladder bars as “traction bars” for a leaf spring setup.
Pretty sure it’s gonna fit I’m to the leave spring equation I could be wrong I run a four link but Caltrax help leave spring cars there basically like a sun frame connecter for your leave springs hell I probably said that wrong let big chief explain it lol I’m high to much ganja I guees but caltrax basically keeps your springs from twisting they give you leverage over them but I’m curious to see anyone else’s respone on it
That’s the best anyone’s ever explained solid axle suspension in regards to drag racing without being over-complicated. I never understood the whole separation thing. Makes way more sense now.

Coming from a guy that worked at BC building coil overs, and explaining how they work ! Now you gotta reroute the whole exhaust on the truck to clear a ladder bar crossmember . See sometimes the jibber jabber helps .

We love how down to earth you two really are and getting into this corvette project is freaking awesome. Ive been in racing my whole life and worked on several race crews professionally (im 51 now). So many racers are completely unapproachable. I dont say that as a slap in the face, they are just cut from a different cloth. You guys seem like folks i grew up with, hanging out in the garage building our shat boxes, and breaking balls while just having fun.

@@gbodychris8413 Thanks man. It's the 68 camaro I bought at the beginning of this year. I do have a 1986 Montecarlo ss (still have it) that was my first street race car and I can tell you how to make it work and you can make $$ with it😏💯. G body's have a triangulated 4 link from the factory.

Honestly this car made me into a true fan. This type of home boy back half stuff is just what the rest of us are out here doing. You are doing something that everyone can relate to. Awesome content and thanks for what you guys are doing.
You guys should look at a small tire class that has to run a carburettor, msd 6al or digital 6 ignition and basic suspension, and production based engines so it is cost effective and comes down to basic tuning.
They have that everywhere. They aren’t fast enough to be cool.

I love each of these videos. As an SO fan, and Chief being my favorite, I have enjoyed watching the behind the scenes of the Crow, Caddy Jack and now Little red Vette. Couple of things I would like to see in the future personally. I'd love to see what has become of the Crowmod, and I'd love to have a special that just talks about the original Crow. I've been a Pontiac enthusiast for years and when I found out that the Crow was powered by an original Pontiac motor, I was instantly hooked. Hope to meet both of yall one day, and keep doing what yall do!

Dumb questions, when u move the ladder bar relative to the centerline of the axle, does the "arc" that axle swings relative to the ladder bar's pivot point change as well as the suspension compresses? So if it's in line, u get one swing radius, move it and there is another? Is that a way to fine tune the rear steer?
