I think I know a trilogy that DOG could be in! (It's one of my favourites too) The Haunted Forest Trilogy Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake -> The Captive Curse -> Midnight in Salem All involve wandering through forests in the dead of night searching for clues of the past to solve a present day mystery.
@@dragonslayersworkshop8598 I think the worst part of it is actually seeing glimpses of the potential for what the game COULD have been within the game itself but they dropped the ball so hard.
You could also do a "nancy abandons her vacation" trilogy! Danger on deception Island >Secret of Shadow Ranch---> Ransom of the seven ships. All of these games nancy is invited or gifted a vacation, which she's quickly abandons to solve a mystery. You can also do treasure in the royal tower, Legend of the Crystal skull, and Shadow at the waters edge. Games where again Nancy quickly abandons her vacation to solve a mystery
One cool trilogy idea could be the “Ned x Nancy” trilogy, focusing on Ned’s and Nancy’s relationship through ASH, CAP, and SEA. ASH sets up their pre-existing relationship, CAP complicates their relationship, and SEA culminates in an ultimate decision of whether or not they should be together.
@@WizardKittenYT Definitely helps that other story elements support their romance and it’s not just a minor connection. Dierdre is shown to have a crush on Ned, Anja motivated by vengeance against her ex, and Magnus’ and Elisabet’s relationship is almost jeopardized by Magnus’s drive for adventure, much like Nancy’s drive for mystery-solving.
Hmm, between Malloy and Medallion, we're one game short of a Sheep-Shearing Trilogy. Too bad we didn't get to shear Isis, or we could have worked Icicle Creek in somehow to make 3.
I must admit I was skeptical when I saw the title of this video because I was like "but each game is its own unique thing!" And I was pleasantly surprised! This was a really cool idea and very thoroughly analyzed! I think my favorite trilogy is the historical romance one, I absolutely loved finding out about the three (sadly doomed) couples.
Wow, this is so creative! The last trilogy is the most appealing for me, I’m all about the ambience 🤍 In case you are ever in need of video analysis ideas, I’ve had this weird idea for some time that it would be fun to sort ND games into groups based on their aesthetic (e.g. dark academia - CUR, cottagecore - SHA, goblincore - DOG, etc.)😬
I would add Danger by Design to the Spy Trilogy. It's the perfect mystery to go from the Scarlet Hand to the Phantom of Venice, plus the phone call with prudence.
Honestly, if you need a trilogy for Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake, here's one right here: The Remote Rural Mysteries - DOG, ICE, and TOT These mysteries are thematically similar in how they take place in very rural and rustic areas of the US/Canada. Similarly, these games are known for being more exploration based and moving throughout outside locations to locate and find relevant items to use. These mysteries harken to our nostalgia and desire for simpler times as we reminisce over the forgotten past of yore. You can see this especially in how rustically designed the major locations are and how remote/out-of-touch they are with more Modern locations. As for other potential trilogies: The Tropical Island Mysteries - Kapu Cave, Ransom of the 7 Ships, and The Shattered Medallion. these mysteries all take place in tropical locations and are meant to provide the player with a sense of exotic wonder and intrigue exploring jungles, white sandy beaches, and go hiking, climbing, and other tasks. Unfortunately, this trilogy is also known for being very puzzle focused and thus is also meant to scratch that puzzle itch. They're also known for being the weakest games in the ND series The East Coast Mysteries - The Haunted Carousel, Warnings at Waverly Academy, and unfortunately Midnight in Salem. These mysteries take place in East coast towns that are meant to convey the vibes of the Atlantic coast and its culture/heritage. Unfortunately, only two games on this list actually meets those requirements and that's the extent I'm going with this one. As for the remaining 3, there's no way to sync them into a trilogy. Two of them might work in a Historical Lessons sort of mystery, but there's not enough games left without breaking earlier games trilogies. Meanwhile, there is nowhere you can place Secret of the Old Clock for it fit due to its nature as being from the 1930s and having nothing in common with the other 32 games.
I was also trying to sort the remaining 12 into trilogies and ultimately gave up but the ones I came up with were pretty similar! I had the exact same Tropical Island one and I knew that DOG and ICE would go together (if they didn't already fit into other trilogies, SHA and/or DDI would go well with those because of the theme of animals causing controversies). I like the idea of the East Coast one too!
A dark academia quartet: message in a haunted mansion, warnings at waverly academy, treasure in the royal tower, the curse of blackmoor manor Idk message in a haunted mansion has dark academia vibes
Was randomly recced this video and never subscribed faster in my life. I used to play these games all the time when I was younger and was surprised by how much I remembered from the series while listening along. I love how well thought out your analysis is, really transformative stuff and the vid quality is top notch. Thanks for sharing this
This is so cool!!! id definitely be playing historical treasure or the seaside trilogy on repeat! Also a cool idea for another idea would be something similar to the Meyers Briggs video you did. Finding a few characters that best suit each of the zodiac signs!
Wow this might be my favorite video of yours yet! The thought and creativity you put into this is INSANE! I agree that it was hard to group the remaining ones into trilogies but here's some I came up with when I tried to sort the remaining 12: The Tropical Island Mysteries, as another commenter mentioned but was also one I came up with: CRE, RAN, and MED, for obvious reasons. I'm actually surprised this wasn't one you put in the video (though I know how you feel about those games, haha)! Here's one that could be interesting--The Wild Beasts Trilogy: DOG, ICE, and CAP. DOG and ICE go pretty well together because of the theme of animals (and in this case specifically canines) causing havoc. However, I thought that CAP could actually be a cool ending to the trilogy because it dives kind of deeper into "wild beasts" and goes into the territory of beasts that--don't really even exist? Like in both DOG and ICE it's obvious that the animals DO exist but there's some doubt as to what kind of controversies they're actually causing and if it's possible for an animal to do things like they're supposedly doing. CAP would take that up a notch and go into the territory of doubt/controversy over whether or not a wild creature/animal exists in the first place! I couldn't think of any way to sort the remaining ones unfortunately 😫 But I cannot tell you how much I love this video!
I just introduced a friend to Nancy drew games. I started with last train to blue moon canyon and was debating which to show her next. I saw this video and was like yay, recommendations🥰🥰
I’m definitely a Historical Romance type of girl 🥰 I love romance to begin with and all three of these games have such a compelling mystery. I think it’s interesting that in all three there is also a lost treasure. Wonder why romance and treasure are linked? Loved this topic!
Was trying to think of a trilogy and instead got hit with a four-parter which might be the best possible thematic series for me personally: the castle series! Treasure in the Royal Tower, Curse of Blackmoor Manor, Haunting of Castle Malloy, Captive Curse. A manor is debatably not a castle so it could be downgraded to a trilogy but these are 4 of my top 10 ND games so I’ll take the full series lol
Given the number of true crime shows I watch, I'm surprised with myself that I hate *EVERY* entry in the True Crime trilogy. And given my former disdain and current indifference to romance stories, I'm shocked at myself that *EVERY* entry in the Historical Romance trilogy is among my favorites. I think I need to reevaluate why that is in both cases.
I know i always say this, but if you ever run out of Nancy Drew ideas (may this never happen 🙏) this would be another fun one to tackle with Sims packs. Maybe you could limit yourself to the way they do bundles. Also your videos never get stale upon rewatches how do you do that??
Lol! I'm glad it was persuasive! You can download almost all of them on the herinteractive.com website or on Steam! I believe they're on Big Fish as well! Physical editions are much harder to find, but digital options are definitely out there.
I remember now that i asked for something and you thought it would work but i don't remember what it was 😂😂 it was a year ago now and i forgot so ya.. Also i thought it was funny when you said some games go past trilogy. Yes Nancy Drew is a tentrilogy+2.00000000001 i don't even need to tell you what 0.00000000001 is. And Historical treasure or the Hotchkiss trilogy
Can't believe you left out the "Just Don't" trilogy: RAN, MED, MID. 😉
LOL!! 🤣 ya know, you are so right, how could I have forgotten that one?!
“The bulls**t trilogy”
Literally was thinking in my head: “where’s the bad trilogy” 😂
Ran, MED and MID?
@@AwakenedKraken The abbreviations for Ransom of the Seven Ships, The Shattered Medallion, and Midnight in Salem! 😊

The Haunted Forest Trilogy

All involve wandering through forests in the dead of night searching for clues of the past to solve a present day mystery.
Ooh I like it!! The Haunted Forest Trilogy, that definitely works! 👻
If only MID was a better game…

Another theme within the Gothic trilogy is FAMILY. 😵

Ghost of Thornton Hall

We need Nancy to solve a case in another school so we can get The Academic Trilogy 😊
Mmmmm, that Historical Romance Trilogy is STRONG.
Your proposed trilogies were all awesome.
Yeah, that one really does have some OP titles 😅
