I know a lot of people hate the nonagram puzzles from waters edge, but I adore nonograms and I like doing them in my spare time. Its like a logic + numbers + visual puzzle and I adore it. I hate all the puzzles where you can't cheat on (like the iceberg jumping in white wolf) or otherwise puzzles that are timed and give you so little time to complete (like the timed colour puzzle in waters edge.. its SO stressful and I can barely complete it in time with using a walkthrough!)
One of my absolute favorite puzzles is kind of “invisible”: getting into the basement in Treasure in the Royal Tower! As a kid having to figure out moving the elevator, going into the library in reverse and climbing down tested my spatial reasoning and so few Nancy puzzles do!
Since you mentioned the cheat from SHA (which I use every time), a couple more puzzles that have cheats are the puzzle outside Jane’s door in CUR (step up to it, step away, turn the key and step up to it again until it changes, it takes I think 7 times and moves the pieces so you’re like 5 moves away from complete) and the photo developing in DAN (flush the toilet 10 times and the photos will be developed when you turn around, and I think you even get an Easter egg!). These cheats have gotten me through those puzzles time and time again!
Speaking as that weirdo who likes Fox and Geese, I am _astounded_ by how hated that puzzle is by the ND community. I've always found it pretty easy and straight-forward. I'm so confused and amused by y'all
I wish I had your mind! I think F&G wouldn't bother me so much if we only had to do it once, it's the repetition that really gets to me! I totally agree with you about the picture frame back in Shadow at the Water's Edge, although I've only done it on Juniour and I hear it's a lot more difficult on Senior! Also agree about Blackmoor Manor, it's such a 50/50 game for me: I'm like you in that I love the story, characters, and atmosphere, but dislike a lot of the puzzles and general mechanics. Also that squirrel puzzle!! So difficult ugh. And not even a unique or cleverly designed puzzle. I also use my phone every time to take a video!
Im with you on Curse of Blackmoor Manor, like I feel like I wouldn't dislike the game so much if the puzzles weren't in the dark weird claustrophobic tunnel that you can't see and you have to stress over the glowsticks
A really easy way to do the clock puzzle in ghost of thorton hall is to set them all to 12 and let them go and however many minutes have passed are how many minutes you need to set that clock before 12
Wow, I never considered putting the bridle together in Shadow Ranch might be difficult for people - I grew up riding horses so that one was super easy/fun 😅 And feeding animals (especially horses) in real life also involves math 😣 so many people have to do that all the time!
I am very much surprised that you did not pick the photo developing puzzle as the worst puzzle in Danger By Design. That is my pick for the worst Nancy Drew puzzle of all time. What kind of insane lunatic makes you develop pictures in complete darkness while using explosive chemicals? I don't even try to do that puzzle. I always flush the toilet ten times so I can skip it.
I hated the weasel puzzle from Castle Malloy. It took me FOREVER! My favorites are anything that you gather info in the game and then use in the puzzles. Also, I'm surprised you classified Fox'n'Geese as a puzzle! I see that as a game. An incredibly frustrating game that is so hard to win ONCE let alone FIVE TIMES. 😡 P.S. I can't believe I forgot about the succulents in Blackmoor! I hate that one!!
The weasel puzzle is one I either get first try or spend minimum one hour trying to solve XD I think I only classify Fox and Geese as a puzzle because of how strategic it is and how you really have to use your brain!
Wildly your favorite and least favorite puzzles from Ghost Dogs are switched for me, I LOVE the roman numeral puzzle (and that game is a big reason why I can read roman numerals to this day), and the dog statue puzzle is my NEMESIS. Although now that I know you're supposed to use the wallpaper to figure out which direction to face the dogs, it looks much easier, but I ALWAYS used a walkthrough for that one if I couldn't brute force it. And yes, I am one of those weirdos who likes the Fox and Geese type puzzles, although I do think having to do it three times in a row is pretty excessive. I just think it's so satisfying to trap Bill's little piece lol
My opinions are diametrically opposed to yours for at least half the games 😂 I love the clock puzzles in both RAN and GTH, Fox & Geese, the binary stuff in DED, and just about every maths puzzle. The floor puzzle in MID was a standout for me (and that's saying something because I loved that game). TMB is also one of my favourite games puzzle-wise. Totally agree about SEA though!
Love this video and agree about almost all the puzzles. I also like fox and geese, but four wins is a lot. Also, since you mentioned the picture taking in Waverly Academy: You don't need to zoom or pan at all for the photos; just take your phone out and snap the picture as is. The only one you need to zoom or pan for is the emblem on the floor of the foyer, but for all others, portraits, and objects, you don't need to :)
Fox and Geese is a pain (3 pains, even), but at least it doesn't kill you like the ice floes... between the confusing rules, the time limit that can NOT be paused (I like ICE, but the lack of ability to pause time really stressed me out), and the flashbacks to the horrors of CRE's ending, it's of my least favorite puzzles in the entire series...
I love this! My all-time favorite puzzle is the bento boxes, whereas my least favorite is all the sliding tile puzzles. Also, a controversial take but I enjoy fox and geese haha
I hate the ASH tunnels. I’ve only been able to solve them legitimately ONCE, but by the time I reached the ladder the timer ran out. I literally got the phone call from Bess the second Nancy got to the police station.
I don't know what it is about slider puzzles for me, like I dislike them but I can get em done, it's like a chore that is just a little annoying to but I can do it. I know other people's brains just don't work for slider puzzles
I hated the shadows edge door puzzle . Firstly it’s timed ( ooof I really hate timed sequences ) and secondly the way it can’t be saved so when you’re kicked out , it’s back to square one . In all other games I adore all word puzzles and hate the math ones too. 😊 .
Oooo yes that one is so stressful and I feel like the time limit just BARELY gives you enough time to complete it so you really have to rush! Yess, word puzzle supremacy!!
Currently finding out why we do so well playing the games together 😂😂 we like opposite puzzle types! ETA: we should play white wolf for fox and geese 😈
white wolf is so vibey but the puzzles are not it. I like putting on videos of other people playing it rather than playing it myself 😂 I do enjoy the minesweeper clone skating pond puzzle though
you asked for my opinions so you're gonna get a lot of them!! sorry!! SCK: My favorite and least favorites would probably be the same as yours but switched...oops. I find tile puzzles pretty simple, but I really struggle with word teasers(?) Is that even what you'd call them?? For some reason my brain just can't wrap itself around what they're trying to say. I struggle even reading the teasers that are just written backwards! STFD: I agree with your picks! Whose idea was it to put the answer in her script anyways?? And why are the brain teasers so useless?? MHM: I don't find the floor tile puzzle difficult either lol. Actually thinking about it, I don't think there are any puzzles in the game where I'm like "HELL yeah, I can't wait to solve this!!" Objectively speaking, the safe puzzle is probably the best. And it's related to that beautiful poem I love so much! The phoenix slider puzzle is the most difficult so yeah, I'd probably choose it as my least favorite as well. TRT: I looooove the puzzle in the tower where you have to slide the tokens into their corresponding slots. It's just challenging enough to make you stop and think about your next move, but not so difficult you want to punch Dexter lol. I agree that there's no huge stinkers in this game, but I really dislike the puzzle to unlock the door in the elevator shaft. The order changes every time and the sound effect is annoying! FIN: My favorite is your favorite! I love those types of puzzles too! As for least favorite...I guess the puzzle to get the cages onstage? I don't think it's objectively bad or anything, and it actually makes sense functionally. I just can't wrap my monkey brain around it sometimes lol. SSH: Something about the HAM radio puzzle makes my brain go brrr. While it does have a lot of steps, I find it so satisfying once you're done! I love the numbers puzzle too though, I could honestly pick either as my favorite! My least favorite would have to be either Bul or the one with the guy throwing the ball through the hoop. The latter is made especially annoying due to it resetting every time you make a mistake! DOG: I just realized I don't like any of the puzzles in this game...maybe the sparkplug one?? Because it's easy?? Worst one is finding bugs because I hate bugs!! CAR: Swimmer's Itch is my favorite! Like I said before, I love those types of puzzles! I really dislike the puzzle where you have to make a new dowel for the carousel. Again, my monkey brain just can't understand it, and if you mess up you have to completely start over! DDI: First off, your hatred of Holt is SO justified. You just know he voted for Trump. And the brown-brown and reddish-brown thing is the WORST. I'm pretty sure I messed up on that question like 3 times in one playthrough because I kept forgetting what answer I had already picked. But my least favorite would actually have to be collecting clams! I literally cannot be bothered to keep traveling from beach to beach. They're not exactly short treks, either! My favorite is probably the matching game with all the food because 1. It's easy 2. I like food SHA: The magnet puzzle can suck my ass! And so can the tunnel puzzle, because why should I have to stray from the directions to get the keys I need?? They made the same mistake AGAIN in TRN!! Just put all the things we need on the correct path, dammit!! But I digress...my favorite puzzle is probably the same as yours! Tbh I like all the puzzles in this game minus the two I just mentioned. They can die in a fire. CUR: omg I love the tiles above Jane's door too!! The people who dislike it just don't get it! I don't know if it's my ultimate favorite, since I also love opening the box in Nancy's room, creating the key, organizing Mrs. Drake's succulents, opening the well...this is actually my favorite game so I like a lot of stuff lol. I also hate moving the statue as well! It's annoying how you can't tell what direction he's looking unless you travel all the way to the library! At least I think...if there is an easier way of checking, don't tell me. I can't handle the shame of sucking at my favorite video game. CLK: Bestie, you can read the subtitles on the record puzzle and it will tell you everything! All the sound effects are included! I definitely didn't realize that during my first couple of playthroughs so...yeah, I definitely hated that one as well lol. But now I hate that board game in Josiah's shed?? The one you play near the end of the game?? It makes my brain hurty. My favorite is bard bounce, because like I said, I really enjoy those types of puzzles! TRN: I hate navigating through the mines!! They made the same mistake as SHA and I'm still mad about it!! Sure you can randomly guess which boards to remove, but I shouldn't have to and that makes me angry!! Thankfully, I enjoy the other puzzles in this game! Unless the horse race in Fatima's store counts because I want to punt it into hell. I think my favorite would also be sorting the dolls as well! DAN: FINAL CODEBREAKING PUZZLE, HOW I LOATHE THEE. It's the only puzzle I have never NOT cheated on. What's especially awful about it is that you need to buy books in order to solve it, but the game doesn't even tell you! How are you supposed to know which books to buy!! You don't, that's how!! I hate it so much that I don't even know what my favorite in this game is!! CRE: Sorry bestie, I can't get behind frass sorting. Too many numbers to remember, too many little poops. But more power to you, I'm glad it doesn't make you want to rip your hair out! /gen My favorite is finding viable seeds for Dr. Craven because it's easy lol ICE: I don't like a single puzzle in this game...this is my least favorite in the entire series, I legit can't think of a single good puzzle. Oops? I'll have to continue this in a reply because I keep getting an error message!
CRY: The grave scavenger hunt is actually my least favorite in this game! Oops again! I have a hard time finding the names in the book, and there's a million pages to look through! I know all of the names yet it doesn't make it any easier! My favorite is probably the chain reaction puzzle to distract Lamont, but I actually really enjoy this game so there isn't a single puzzle I dislike! VEN: Does Scopa count as a puzzle?? Because that would be my favorite not just in this game, but in the entire franchise! I love Scopa so much I play it in my freetime! If not, then maybe the dancing puzzle because of the sheer AUDACITY. I actually managed to beat the water level puzzle during my most recent playthrough without cheats, so I'm pretty pleased with myself and don't hate it as much as I used to! It's still really, really bad tho. HAU: I like making drinks!! I definitely agree about the standing stones. I also struggle with understanding the images; the graphics just aren't clear enough. I legit can't see ANY of the constellations except for one! But my actual least favorite would be the tangled cords near the end. I simply cannot follow the line from beginning to end, I always get lost at some point! RAN: The decoding puzzle is probably the only good puzzle in the game...welp. I absolutely hate the hourglass puzzle too! That would be my pick for the worst. The underwater sudoku is also pretty bad, but I always cheat on that one so my air doesn't run out lol. I also really hate programming the GPS!! It's yet another one my brain cannot even begin to comprehend! WAC: I actually can't choose between the silverware puzzle and climbing the tree, so I'm just gonna say I hate them both!! I like the US map puzzle a decent amount, but I don't know if it would be my favorite? I also enjoy the star line puzzle, so maybe that one! TOT: I HATE how the other characters heckle you when trying to solve puzzles in this game!! Some of them would be genuinely fun if I didn't have them rushing me and making my anxiety spike!! There are actually a few I enjoy in this game, tho. I like the siren puzzle near the beginning, the LED screen puzzle, sorting candy bars, the phone jack, and your favorite, the mirror puzzle, as well! My least favorite would actually have to be the camera renograms puzzle. I have never been able to figure out an easy way to solve renograms, and the way Frosty is yelling at you the whole time just makes the entire experience bad! SAW: I loooooove making bento! A lot of people really seem to hate it, but I'll do it over and over because I find it so much fun! My least favorite is the portrait backing puzzle because I SUCK at it. It takes me 20 minutes every time AT LEAST. CAP: This one is easy for me. Favorite = gate unlocking puzzle. Least favorite = same as yours! I think navigating literally any area in this game is puzzle in itself. Neither the woods, the dungeon, or the castle itself are easy to navigate! ASH: Mine are the same as yours again!! TMB: You already know my favorite is sliding the beetle tokens into the correct places! And my least favorite, hands down, is pressing the bird tiles. I cannot for the life of me figure out which bird is which, they all look way too similar for me! DED: This one has the charging puzzle which is like, the same as the one in Alibi in Ashes, so that's my favorite again! Least favorite is the ending circuit board puzzle because the directions do not help even a little!! I still don't understand it! GTH: I also hate the clock puzzle!! I have played that game so many times and I still don't understand it!! My favorite is the hecking plus and minus puzzle? It's like a nonogram but easier lol SPY: You are so valid about loving the cookie puzzle! If I could choose that, it'd be my favorite too! Instead I'll choose...uh...are there any good puzzles in this game?? I guess I'll choose the fireplace since you did. I legit can't think of another one. Unlocking the cell phone is DEFINITELY my least favorite tho. It's too hard AND it's timed!! MED: ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I guess my favorite is also the train puzzle?? Because it's easy?? Or maybe the spot the difference puzzle in the puzzle palace?? Who knows with this game. My least favorite is actually the sudden death because I'm terrible at it and it takes FOREVER. LIE: I still really struggle with the seed puzzle :( I think I've started to kinda get it on my most recent playthrough, but it's still really difficult for me. Maybe next time I play I'll get the hang of it! But since I haven't, maybe the lift control box?? And my least favorite is probably the spider web puzzle in the cage! SEA: This one is also super easy for me! Favorite = symbol sudoku with circles, diamonds, and squares instead of numbers. Least favorite = lion head because I suck at it! I can never remember the pattern so I always turn one of the heads when I'm not trying to! This is another game I really enjoy, so I don't have much to complain about tbh. MID: I never played this game. ew.
It's awesome that we have so many favourite/least favourite puzzles in common! You reminded me a lot of other ones that I really like/dislike. I really love the Treasure in the Royal Tower style sliding tokens puzzles too! Also you are so right about ICE, so few good puzzles in that game ugh. Hopefully you can come around to the LIE seed puzzle next time you play!!
lol you said the thing about playing games so much you can’t forget the solution and IMMEDIATELY I thought of the B A D C A D E E stairs solution in curse of Blackmoor manor LOL
Lmaoo one of those little random details that will never leave your mind! 😂 I honestly know some of the puzzle solutions better than my own phone number 😬
We are polar opposites lmfao I adore title puzzles and sudoku is one of my favorite things to do even just in pass time lol. Plus roman numerals to me are second nature which is weird because me and math do not get along That being said I can not stand the scavenger hunt puzzles. They are so annoying and tedious to me and I hate the ones in Crystal Skull and Thornton Hall but that's just me of course. Tho I will say we are in agreement with Fox and Geese. I hate that game with a burning passion and I can not figure it out for the life of me I've never once been able to beat White Wolf because of that damn game. Also also fun fact Shadow at the waters edge is easily my favorite ND game because every single puzzle in that game is something I legitimately love doing which is not something I can say about any other ND game The only issue is I have with it is how frustrating it can be at times to get Yumi's 7 pictures But that's a very small nick pick for me
In My opinion , the worst puzzles in Phantom of Venice are the Mosaic tiles , stealing the damn gem , and having to beat the Scopa game twice. In Castle Malloy , it's a direct tie between playing the drums and the chemical storage.
Totally agree about both of those!! I love nonagram puzzles and those other kind of puzzles can be so frustrating!!!
"We're really spoiled for choice with Ransom of the Seven Ships." Preach.
I will never forget that horse’s name is Glory. I solve it and then Nancy asks George and Bess for help every time.
One of my absolute favorite puzzles is kind of “invisible”: getting into the basement in Treasure in the Royal Tower! As a kid having to figure out moving the elevator, going into the library in reverse and climbing down tested my spatial reasoning and so few Nancy puzzles do!
And great video!
Yes that part can be so tough to figure out!! But so rewarding when you do!

Im with you on Curse of Blackmoor Manor, like I feel like I wouldn't dislike the game so much if the puzzles weren't in the dark weird claustrophobic tunnel that you can't see and you have to stress over the glowsticks
I love the bees knees puzzle, because of the music! Makes me wanna dance a little, I at least wiggle a bit while solving it 😅
A really easy way to do the clock puzzle in ghost of thorton hall is to set them all to 12 and let them go and however many minutes have passed are how many minutes you need to set that clock before 12
Wow, I never considered putting the bridle together in Shadow Ranch might be difficult for people - I grew up riding horses so that one was super easy/fun 😅 And feeding animals (especially horses) in real life also involves math 😣 so many people have to do that all the time!

I’d love to see you rank Nancy Drew music or overall game vibes!
Music is on my list!!
I hated the weasel puzzle from Castle Malloy. It took me FOREVER! My favorites are anything that you gather info in the game and then use in the puzzles.
Haha aww I like that we each find puzzles to love in the Nancy games! There's truly something for everyone!
Love this video and agree about almost all the puzzles. I also like fox and geese, but four wins is a lot.

I love this! My all-time favorite puzzle is the bento boxes, whereas my least favorite is all the sliding tile puzzles. Also, a controversial take but I enjoy fox and geese haha
Interesting that we have quite a bit in common puzzle-wise but have totally opposite opinions about Fox and Geese!
30:46 Doesn't Monster first show up as one of the games you can play with Jane in Blackmoor?
I hate the ASH tunnels. I’ve only been able to solve them legitimately ONCE, but by the time I reached the ladder the timer ran out. I literally got the phone call from Bess the second Nancy got to the police station.
Nooooo that must have been so frustrating!! I would have just quit the game at that point 😅
@@snughly haha I did. I’m still hesitant to play ASH after that
I think you might need to up your volume in the editing process, your videos have been super quiet and I get jumpscared by ad breaks 😭😭
Ahhh I did raise it for this one but I guess not enough!
Feel exactly the same way about slider puzzles.
I don't know what it is about slider puzzles for me, like I dislike them but I can get em done, it's like a chore that is just a little annoying to but I can do it. I know other people's brains just don't work for slider puzzles
omg perfect i was looking for something to watch while cooking im so EXCITED

Lmao I guess so!!! Perfect for Nancy co-playing! Lol we should play it so I can watch YOU play Fox and Geese 😆
The FRASS puzzle!?
white wolf is so vibey but the puzzles are not it. I like putting on videos of other people playing it rather than playing it myself 😂 I do enjoy the minesweeper clone skating pond puzzle though

Craven because it's easy lol
ICE: I don't like a single puzzle in this game...this is my least favorite in the entire series, I legit can't think of a single good puzzle.
It's like a nonogram but easier lol
SPY: You are so valid about loving the cookie puzzle!
I am literally playing flow while I watch this video 💀 and as a flow pro I agree that the wire puzzle is too easy
OH MY GOD THAT'S WHAT I WAS REFERRING TO!! I'VE BEEN PLAYING THAT APP ON AND OFF SINCE HIGH SCHOOL!! I can't believe I forgot lmao
Funny that your Mum loves tile puzzles, isn’t it? 😂😂😂
Lol it is ironic!
We are polar opposites lmfao
I adore title puzzles and sudoku is one of my favorite things to do even just in pass time lol. Plus roman numerals to me are second nature which is weird because me and math do not get along
That being said I can not stand the scavenger hunt puzzles. They are so annoying and tedious to me and I hate the ones in Crystal Skull and Thornton Hall but that's just me of course.
Tho I will say we are in agreement with Fox and Geese. I hate that game with a burning passion and I can not figure it out for the life of me
I've never once been able to beat White Wolf because of that damn game.
Also also fun fact Shadow at the waters edge is easily my favorite ND game because every single puzzle in that game is something I legitimately love doing which is not something I can say about any other ND game
The only issue is I have with it is how frustrating it can be at times to get Yumi's 7 pictures
But that's a very small nick pick for me
In My opinion , the worst puzzles in Phantom of Venice are the Mosaic tiles , stealing the damn gem , and having to beat the Scopa game twice. In Castle Malloy , it's a direct tie between playing the drums and the chemical storage.
Oh god stealing the gem is physically painful
