I just bought 2012 Jonway YY250T this week. My husband rode it home about a 60 mile ride. When we got home it smelled hot. It did start with no problems. I sent a message to the man we bought it from and he said that was normal and to watch the gage which was what my husband did and it was ok. Just wondered if it is something that is normal? This is my first scooter ever. I have never been on one. That is why hubby drove it home. Glad to find you tho and will be checking out more of your videos. Thanks. paula
the radio on my particular scooter was causing some kind of overload on the system, the problem went away after i reconnected the radio, how ever i've seen other videos stating that replacing the stator fix their problem, i had the 2011 yy250 i never replaced the stator, i simply reconnected the radio, and never had the problem again, how ever the little scooter radio had bad reception, i didnt care because the smartphone i had at that time came with a build in radio tunner, and i connected the phone to the radio using the Mp3 player plug and use it that way, or if you have an ipod it could be used.
I am having the same problem now I ride my 250cc scooter for almost a year with no problem then the battery started going low new bike only 5k miles on it then I tried to get a jump start it with cables from a car after that I turn on the key no lights or nothing no power at all? I got it home and charge the battery still no power? please any suggestions? Thx
Just got a YY250T in a horse trade, I have been all over the web looking for the vacuum hook up for this bike. Yours is identical to mine, could you share a video or pics of the vacuum system if you still have the bike?
i have the same scooter and i was trying to change the coolant but i cannot find the drain plug do you know where it is maybe you can put a video on to show me. i would appreciate any help. thanks
The Radiator is seal there is no drain Plug, you can drain the Coolant by removing the lower hose that connects to the water pump, if you see one of my videos i show how to drain the coolant.
Capacitive Diacharge Ignition, CDI; it produces the spark for your spark plug, of course, this through the ignition coil, the CDI just gives the ignition coil the signal to fire the spark plug with the high voltage,on the proper timing, this timing meaning when the piston is very near the TDC of the piston (Top Dead Center),in the compression stroke, ready to fire and move the bike forward.
i trade the scooter to my son, he had the scooter for a few months he then sold it, and got him self a ninja 500, and i still see the scooter riding around town every now and then.
Carlos Nieves thanks for replying. I get the feeling that those Chinese scooters are better avoided. Maybe in ten years China will start producing scooters worth buying. Not yet as far as I can tell.
jesuisravi well those budget scooter are just that, if your not technically challenge then better stay away, me i just had that first issue at the beginning and didn't had an issue ever since, except maintenance my son didnt keep it because he wanted a real bike but like i said the person that bought it from my son, is still driving it. would i buy another one, absolutely :)
I have a 2006 KEEWAY 125, simple machine, light,105 kgs only,NOTHING ever does wrong with it; it has near 30000 kms, needed nothing other than tires, and engine oil every 2000 kms (city driving!) and gear oil a few times(it has NO oil filter, just a small net basket, lasts for ever); i just put a new timing chain in it, it was a bit stretched/worn already, that is normal; easy job,i spliced one onto the other and pulled it through (job for a mechanic, only!); it is air cooled, and NO fuel injection ,carburetor only,4T, not to much can go wrong; engine and electrical parts are of the H I G H E S T quality i have seen anywhere, in any car brand ,amazing chinese/italian machine (i am a retired mechanic, bmw merc jaguar...).
I have had honda, suzuki, and yamaha and they used to be the most practical vehicles, but expensive. now the chinese are a fraction of the cost and very close to the japanese in reliability. the parts for the chinese bike are SO much cheaper that IMO they are much more practical. over $100 for the jap carb and less than $25 for the chinese and the chinese worked just as good. I have used both for a long time and I go with the chinese now. I also carry spare parts when I ride. I admit it.
I've put over $2000 in this bike, and it's just 1 headache after another. IABHORE THIS BIKE, I'M SCRAPPING IT TOMORROW!!!!! COMPLETE AND TOTAL PILE OF SHIT!!!!!!!
apparently you bought a used model, sorry. I have owned this scooter for three days, I changed the oils and it is very good, and I gave much less for it in Poland

no, i didn't replaced neither, but if you are having issues with the bike cutting off, i suggest changing the CDI,

Carlos. Enjoy your discoveries. I need help trying to replace the head light bulb. Must I take off the total front just for the bulb?
unfortunally yes you have to because there is a bar that holds the front cowl up and won't let you get to the headlight
Do the jonway 150cc 2012 look like this ? Reason im asking is because this guy selling one says its a 150cc but it looks identical. To yours ?

What is a "CDI" in this context?
Ignition brain.
Like a cars computer

@@bafex8273 I love how some people who don't know how to use tools just throw money at a problem and expect it to be solved.
