I feel like "You Say" is kind of a forgettable rock ballad though the guitar solo redeems it somewhat. The B-side in Wandugu Wangu is the catchier song on the single, I think. It does reminds me of a mainstream rock hit from the late 60's that I can't place right now. I can hear it in my head, but can't recall the lyrics to look it up. It's going to bother me till it comes to me. Interestingly this is the very next in line in the Zambezi releases after ZA-189 Jessiter / Buchushi Bwandi. It's the same singer for both singles. I'm wondering if they were released at the same time or very close to one another. You may be right about the piano being Mlevhu. It kind of sounds like his style. Thanks for sharing this one!
Oh, I disagree! The A-side track checks all my boxes! But I really enjoy the B-side track as well. The Jessiter single was released at roughly the same time, but it sounds completely different - a total disco single. Keith Mlevhu served as a session musician for a number of Zambian artists, I wouldn't be surprised if this was him on the A-side, as it's totally his style of playing.
@@nightstarvation Gotta Say, Im Siding With Lendy On This One Haha. Wandugu Wangu Is Killer! Yet Another I Gotta Add To The Wantlist! Also I Agree, Does Have A Very Similar Sound To Some Mlevhu Tracks.
Revisited this one. "You Say" has grown on me. :D
