I'm 50. You're never too old to play a game you love.
I'm 50 as well, and play on a squad. As long as you're having fun, you're never too old.
I can't agree more Beth. Just find a good squad and laugh a lot. My crew is a mix of guys and gals between the ages of 25 to me (53) and we have a blast!
An actual mommy mercy
Back when I played raids on destiny, I always played with a 63 year old. Fun times and great life stories
I watch your tiktok streams!!!
This is me haha. Thank you Emongg, there were a few tips that really resonated and have already helped me win losable games. I really appreciate you taking the time to help this - very and obviously young - man.
That Mauga really went "a gun in each hand and a smile on my face"
That Mauga really made it hard for grandpa
I was struggling so hard with him, but most of the voice comms were quite positive at least! Which is rare
This dude was so nice in his message haha
I'm 39 this year and I hit Masters 5 previous season on support. It depends on when you started gaming and the consistency. I've been gaming since 2 yrs old playing NES Mario, played professionally on Counter-Strike Source during the CAL/CPL years, and never really left the gaming culture. I definitely slowed down from when I was competing in my early 20s with adult things :)
I do enjoy watching competitive players on streams/youtube and I always pick up a thing or 2 to try with my gaming style. I was too early into the esports scene when I was competing (the entire esports scene died once, then it got revived by TBS with ELEAGUE).
The only complaint I have with every multiplayer gaming is the increases in number of trolls or just people who really need to see psychiatrists (legitimately). I'm just too old for nonsense. During my competing days, teammates were real teammates that you had to bond and strategize with for several hours everyday... So, there wasn't much trolling except when it was trash talking between teams, which is expected. With the matchmaking implementation today, sure it's a good idea to get games going, but your teammates are shitting on you constantly! I'm just blown away about that.
that's interesting insight, thanks for sharing
Spot on regarding the teammates issue! People can be very tiring 😅
Anyone that tries to tell you that you're too old for something is not someone you want to listen to.
The Summit1g video portrays this perfectly.
The Mauga at like 4:20 stood on cart not even dropping down to take cover behind it when SO low on health fucked me off.
One other thing he could do better is not to rush his sleep. Feel like he is throwing it rightaway as a kind of disease. Take the time to aim it (or keep it when facing dive comp to defend yourself). On the whole video, didn't hit once.
yeah, the sleeps were the weakest part. He did sleep an ulting soldier near the beginning … but that’s all that stood out.
2:30 sleeps an ulting soldier bro 😂 good shot as well!
Yeah, sorry, missed it. Was probably doing something else at the time. But in general, I think it could still be upgraded though.
You're absolutely right - those sleeps were mostly shocking and reactionary. That was one big takeaway I got from this review and it's already helped me immensely, knowing when a good sleep opportunity is about to arise.
I'm 42 stuck in gold too. My ping is never under 150 so I just blame it on that
I'm 45 and a Moira main, this VOD review helped me too. I am Gold 1 Support and have been fighting to get Plat too. Would really love to play with them.
43 here, but otherwise exactly everything else. Stuck in between gold 2-1 currently and finding just the right skill level of DPS and tank to pair with has been a struggle
As a Moira, my current goal is to always be at 1.5k heals/min. But....our girl is thirsty and needs to drink to keep healing. I feel like dps moira's dominate nowadays, but you do so much better if you've got 20k heals to go with that 38-3.
Keep going bud, hope to see you out there
get a 40+ team going and stream it
@@TonyLicavoli definitely wound like a solid game plan to level up.
I am 57, love this game.
I'm 40 and people still ask me if I'm a overwatch playing machine: "are you a bot?"
I’m 26, and I will always play games. They’re my escape.
I feel like im starting to get too old and my reaction time is slipping 😭
Hello, 62-year-old Bronze tanker here (D Va main). You're not too old.
How old are you?
@@paulkieferjr5178 I appreciate the response. I am a support main but love playing tank, Dvas my fav. I'll keep pushing myself, thank you ^-^
@mr.incognito8088 turned 30 this year, but I also don't has as much time to play as I used to. (I have 2 kids and a wife now vs being single able to grind every night) so I know not being able to consistently play does have a part in my reaction time/mechanical skill but it still sucks.
@@cubixx_ow Yep, I'm 33 and I have tons of free time, but don't spend it all here. I can feel my skills getting worse for sure lol.
The dude plays amazing as ana tbh
HEROS NEVER DIE. you cant be too old for OW2
They played amazing I'm stuck in silver healer :(
Keep in mind that’s the threshold for mechanics basics so to get into gold you gotta be able to carry when your dps/tank underperform or like, duo q to remove a variable. I’m good enough to hold my own but I can’t consistently headshot so I get gatekept at silver 1 across all roles lol. I haven’t been in gold since there was open queue lmao couldn’t own lobbies as Tracer anymore
40 isn’t even old
I'm 31 I feel old lol
@@GilRivera-co7rh You’re not. Wait till 41. That’s when my metabolism went to 💩
41 here. And that's a good Ana plus good skin
40 myself and I don't think it's necessarily reaction time or anything like that diminishing, but the reality of only being able to find an hour or 2 to game every other day or something is what decreases game play. Can't keep skill level high enough to compete with the younger generation that play 3-4 hours a day.
Wish the whole streaming life was a thing when I was playing games like a full time job lol. Didn't really take off until we were in our late 20s and had debts and payments to consider already lol.

Hey, I'm 53 years old in plat and climbing... Some of us are doing ok lol!🤣
You guys are awesome haha
@@exaltedchipz8726 My squad is a mix of guys and gals between the ages of 25 and me...We click well and have a blast together! That's what it's all about in my opinion.
ayooo you're better than me! i'm 28 and still a goldie lmao
I'm 37 and play Lucio in GM1 Xbox
🐸
Here is a good question: are you a Lucio Mafia brother? 🐸
I really appreciate this video I learned alot of new things from this ❤
That name has to be a reference to that Wicker man movie lol. AAAHHHH NOT THE BEES!
I thought you were going to say they were in their 80s or something. In their 40s???? Hardly ancient, 40s is almost young these days! Overwatch is for everyone, anyway.
Would a lifeweaver have helped here? To pull the Mauga when he's getting goofy and help with positioning and the burst heal from tree during these big plays? This Maunga plays like he needs a Lifeweaver but i'm not sure if LW could keep up with the healing.
I feel like every Maugas I play with crumbles pretty quickly without a big influx of heals
Probably wouldn’t have been able to heal him quick enough 😂 I don’t know if I’m correct but I think the heal rate of Ana is slightly quicker than LW full charge heal
I dunno, how old is Soldier 76?
He’s 58, according to Google. But to be fair, Soldier 76 is a super soldier, so his age doesn’t matter much.
I'd almost argue that older players could more likely play overwatch better than some younger players. Good reaction time in any shooter is a great skill, but Overwatch is much more of a game of positioning and resource management. This is not CSGO or Valorant. Older players more often take more time and think about the game going on around them as opposed to just flicking heads and landing shots. Always always always play with positioning and decision-making in mind more than worrying about missing a shot or two here and there. Continue to learn and make better decisions and play better positions, and you'll climb faster than you would training just your reaction times.
Small things in the tank's playstyle made life much more difficult for the Ana. Nothing that was really crazy or really inappropriate, but clearly a tank that hadn't adjusted to the new DPS passive. As to reaction time, if anyone older is worried about slowing down as they age, you can compensate with other things. In OW, your decision making should improve pretty well as you age, and tactical patience is much easier when you are out of the "hot-head-20-something" part of life.
Overall, however, this Ana's gameplay impressed me. I have no complaints about their mechanics, they did quite well.
What if you're like me, 50 but still in the "hot-head-20-something" part of life? 😂
Whenever I die in CS or Val I make the excuse that I'm too old and I die to 13yo kids w crazy reaction time. I'm 22
@@gocatsgo08😂
IVE PLAYED WITH BEES they’re pretty chill unless there is another 40 year old named bees 😂
Haha it was probably me if it's NZ/Aus servers - there's another bees that's super toxic too and ruins the good name of our honey friends!
Not grouping up is something I've seen a lot. What can I do other than ping for it and say hi to people outside spawn while standing still? I think nothing, but maybe I'm wrong?
Something about windmill isle day. It just HITS 😂
Age isn't as huge a deal as people make it out to be. I'm turning 40 this year and have peaked low masters. Pretty sure I could graze GM if I had any actual time to grind. I have a friend whose 70+ year old grandmother still speed runs Super Metroid.
When you're talking about age-based decline in reaction time, you're generally talking fractions of a second. That can make a difference when you're elite, sure. But for us normies, it probably won't be a make or break thing unless you have other health issues going on, at least not to the point where you can't compensate for it with good positioning and awareness.
I'm 37 and hit diamond a few seasons back. Just hard stuck plat now after the derank.
He plays supp better than me, even though I'm 19
I'd like to see more Lucio spectating, and more console in general
Before I even started this, I thought that if the person is in their forties I'll scream. Been gaming since I was a kid. I'll be 55 this year and I play Overwatch every day. Yeah, I'm in the metal ranks but I've hit plat at times solo queueing. As Beth says below, you're never too old.
lol, can we talk about the thumbnail for a sec?😄😄
Never, never, never too old to have fun playin games!
I'm a new 40 year old but still Masters, learning to git gud. Support main as I try to be a supportive dad.
i support you supportive dad
There are plenty of players who are way older or younger than me and are still better. Age is just a number, it only matters how much time you’ve dedicated to your hobbies.
Im 34 and still hang out around high masters/low gm but definitely miss the days when my reaction time was a little better and dread getting so old that my reaction time just cant compete with the young bloods. Luckily there's games like Overwatch where game sense is almost as important as mechanical skill. Ive gamed since Super Nintendo and plan to game til im an old man!
Society really have 34 year olds thinkin they should be too over the hill to play a video game lmao
This guy's mechanics are better than mine. Nice game dude 👍
I’m 50 and don’t feel this too much. I feel like playing Ana is tougher especially if the other team plays to dive but otherwise, I think the gameplay was mostly decent.
I'm 52 been a gamer since the 80's. Shout out to the OG's (original gamers)
heck yeah brother! keep gaming
As a gamer in his 40's I agree there's fall off but you can still be competitive.
UA-cam Comment Response;
Mini Map and Accessibility:
#1 cause of frustration is not being aware of your teammates position; even if the player does a 180 there's no guarentee that your team is where you last saw them, a lot can happen in 2 seconds. If a player with arthritis endures the discomfort of the flick to ensure a won fight, perhaps their ana had to reposition and now los is to the right. Larger bullets lowered the obtainable skill ceiling, impossible to be aware of your teammates position throughout the entirety of a fight.
I tweeted these thoughts to Aaron and team for the ally radar for tank alone, I know believe it's meant for everyone.
I’ve been playing overwatch since I was a teenager. I’m gonna keep playing as long as it lasts :)
If I want to decrease my reaction times I jusy smoke less
Conservative with their nanos and uses sleeps off cooldown. Positioning is fine, shots need a little help but relatively fine.
Absolutely no problem with mechanics and reactions. Needed to swap off Ana waaaaay before they did. The other support not doing so much ...supporting, and Ana having such poor mobility, they just couldnt get to where they needed to be, "when" they needed to be there. The ability to tp in and out of situations, turned this game around. Oh yeah...crazy Tank :( We've all been there.
I love to see elder gamers, it makes me so happy! also that Ana skin is underrated
im 19 and my reaction time is terrible 💀
dw unc youre fine
ALRIGHT SO!!!
Also age means nothing.
Today's video we're watching a Gold 2 Support on PC
Is using Brig and Lucio together a bad idea?
Honestly you’re never old to play ow and I’m only 28 so I know the feels.
Im 30 and i thought i was too old
im not even old i just have a bad reaction time lmao but im getting better
40 is not old LOL

Damn! 💀
Never too old

Omg so old😭
I’m plat on console with aim assist all the way up and this guy makes me look like a bronze lol
Wait what?? I'm Plat 4 and this dude plays better than I do 😅 Why is he in gold?
Worst tank in ow history
Not really he really fun to use
Could have a better utl but it's good
@GilRivera-co7rh he's objectively poorly designed
@@GilRivera-co7rh”fun to use” and “good tank” are not the same
Mauga makes every game he's in worse
Playing for fun , but knowing this is not what you are good at anymore.
how am I this early
Yeah no I feel this lmao
Oof
Hop on the sooner than an hour group
I am 97. I am silver in tank, bronze DPS, and GM 1 support. I love to game and garden with my many sons.
aww i hope you're a real person and not just saying that
Wow I’m early
