1hz are gutless unless turboed n not as strong as the silvertop td42 the silver top is probably the equivalent 2 a 1hdt in strength and relibality, the 1hdtfte is the best but for 15k or more to put it in a nissan what would be the point doesn't need to be a race car after all n land cruiser r overrated talk to toyota about when they made the r series gearbox how that went 4 them n how full time 4wd is a good idea
Ah she's good for a mill.. old fulla I work on his trucks gotta a gq ute and wagon.. wagons got 850 thou and the ute has 1.2 mill, both trucks only had water pumps alternators and clutches.. Not a bad run I recon
@@mickromer6199 the 4.2s seem to be absolute bullet proof motors ! they just keep going! and considering how James treats his i am very impressed! up the TD42!
Would be interested to see what its pushing on the dyno at 20psi also I have a blacktop td42 1997 and just recently put a ufi turbo on it only running 12 psi atm cuz from all the stories about the blacktop but if your not having any issues Dam we'll I think I'm gonna wind the dam thing up craving some more power atm hahah awesome vids keep it up
Have one quite similar to this setup, 98 gq coil cab, Black top, Gturbo manifold, Gturbo gold wheel, Same cross country intercooler, Full 3" exhaust and a 12mm pump. 18psi, 205hp and 495nm. Ever so slightly laggy on that turbo (compared to the average setup) but any power lost at the low end is made up for 5 times over in top end, Doesn't even hint at dropping off all the way to 4k. Not to mention you can't argue with that boost-hp ratio...
Silvertop is the earlier version which had a silver rocker cover and in most cases has stronger internal components than the later Blacktop (rocker cover) engines which had lighter internals to help rev easier but you can read endless pages on forums debating when and what the exact changes were and i believe that in the transition period from silver to black around 1994 they were producing the more heavy duty engines with black rocker covers and vice versa so it can be difficult to tell exactly without opening up the engine.
the air tank was for air bags..i can blow up a 35" tyre, half way with it.so,,you need a bigger tank or more pressure in it.fit a tyre valve & fill it at servo,s..look up power tank..bit more than shit arb compressor, but will fill 50 tyres.
Love the outtro
