Hi! I’m the one that got to adopt Piff (now named Bingo) at the Sacramento Reptile Show (I also got see you guys at the meet and greet)! He’s a very good dragon, and he eats his greens. I love him so much and I’m so glad I got to adopt this awesome dragon!
Emily and Ed, Lilly and I are also glad that we didn’t get “Raptured” during the eclipse and we are able to continue our Snake Discovery education. Glad y’all had fun and we look forward to seeing what’s next. Thank you for everything!
I forgot to say in this comment, but I got to go to Buc-ees for the first time!! I was so excited! I wear the sleep pants I got from there all the time, they’re so comfy
The Eclipse felt so unrealistic when i saw it in person, I was amazed that you were able to take off your eclipse glasses and look directly at the sun for a few seconds once when it was fully covered. The internet definitely doesn't do it justice for how amazing it is in person. The sun also seemed brighter than what it was before the eclipse! Edit: It forgot to add on this that it felt apocalyptic lol
I traveled about 5 hours to see the full eclipse. It was incredible to see the "sunset" encompassing the entire horizon, plus listening to the frogs chirping and getting literal chills from how fast the temperature dropped. Then just looking to the sky and seeing this perfect black circle and a silver ring around it. It's an experience unlike any other here on earth.
Oh my god, I am amost positive I was at that park in IN for that eclipse. I was visiting my sister. I had no idea you guys were there. That is the second time I have coincidentally been within walking distance of you two and never knew it. I love you guys and im so bummed that i have missed you twice! Update: I even talked to Derrick and Dana( if my memory serves), the folks who owned the Gluten free food truck about someone bringing their bearded dragon. Thats insane!! 🤯🤯
One of the coolest experiences I ever had was working at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area in Kentucky when the 2017 eclipse came through. We were right in the sweet spot with the most total and longest lasting visible eclipse. We planned for two years for it and tens of thousands of people came to view it. It was honestly like a big party. Nobody complained or asked for their money back (because they didn’t pay for anything) and people were so thankful whenever we gave their kids a pair of eclipse glasses or let them fill up their water bottle from our cooler. It was an amazing day! Something I will remember forever.
Unfortunately, I had a cloudy day on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity but will never forget the darkness and cold breeze that swept as we reached totality. Glad you guys got to see it!
Fun fact! One way glass works by having the room you can't see into dark and the other side of the glass brightly lit so when you opened the door and let light in you couldn't see through it properly but once it closed light from outside made it through and let you see out while not making it too dark but no one could see in. That's why in detective shows the criminal is always interrogated in a brightly lit room while the detectives sit in a dark room.
Fun fact about the Memphis Pyramid: when it was an event center, there was a King Tut exhibit on display in it. If you pass back through Memphis on a trip, Good Fortune Co. is a good ramen restaurant downtown
Buc-ees and Ford need to sponsor you. I went to Bucees because of you, then talked it up so much that my friends all went. I hope you get to be a VIP guest at their Wisconsin store opening.
...never before have I ever uttered the words "I'm gonna plan a trip to another state solely to visit a Bass Pro Shop." .... it's too amazing not to go see it 😭
It should be a national landmark honestly 😂 I live in Memphis and we love telling people about the pyramid and getting them to come visit. It’s one of those things we always go to when we have family come in from out of town 😂
You came to my town!! I live in Sulphur Springs! Fun fact about the glass bathrooms, you for sure can't see in them, but if it's evening or night time, people can see your cellphone lit up in there if you are looking at your phone while peeing. I was there one evening and someone was using the bathroom and you could see their phone light up in there. So if you are here again, heads up!!❤️
I live about 30 minutes East of you, in Pittsburg! I took my daughter and her friend to an event in Sulphur Springs last summer and we all had to use the glass bathrooms and take pictures. Very weird experience! Lol
I graduated from high school in the Pyramid, my dad graduated with both his masters and PhD there. Then everything got moved to either campus or FedEx Forum. I've not been inside since they turned it into the Bass Pro Shop. You have GOT to look up the guy who swam in one of the tanks, naked, then fell out when police were chasing him. That is PURE MEMPHIS. Our city I'd kind of dumb, but you can't say we're boring.
I totally had to look that up! There’s even video, with certain bits blurred out! I guess if you’re gonna make a splash, that’s the place to do it! Apparently the gentleman in question was having some mental issues, but hopefully he’s better now.
If you ever have the opportunity to visit the Pyramid/Bass Pro again, I would highly recommend it. I used to live in Memphis, and we would visit regularly as it was being built. It is very interesting what they have done with the place!
hey! that's my buc-ee's! i stop there on the way to my dad's in east TX! they are out of chips and they did discontinue the jalapeno cheddar popcorn, from what we've seen. my daughter is a huge buc-ee's fan!
Its amazing just how different the eclipse was for other people! I was in MO and even tho we got over 95% covered, it was darker but not *dark*. More like a cloud covering the sun but the sky was clear!
I was in the path of totality and it was like sunset, the light level just after it dips under the horizon. Still surprisingly light, but the weirdest thing to me was that all the shadows were at the wrong angle
As someone who lives in the south, it was so adorable watching Emily and Ed try Steak and Shake, not know what Steak and Shake and Freddie’s are, and visit the Memphis Bass Pro Shop. I also love how excited you guys are about Buccee’s 😂😂😂😂. I hope you guys got to take a tour of Southern food while you were here! I hope you got some barbecue, shrimp and grits, biscuits and gravy, and all the other classic southern soul food!
I was in the path of totality in Texas and we were hanging out in the office parking lot for like 30 minutes during the eclipse. The totality was incredible!

I live in the path of totality. It was super special. Experiencing it again (more calmly, no trying to get a picture or notice everything, etc) was super nice c:
After seeing the 2017 eclipse in totality, our family drove 18 hours to just outside of Dallas, where my sister lives, to see this one. It was just as amazing as the one in 2017 and I am planning on seeing the next one in 20 years. Glad you guys got to have the experience. It is so much different than just viewing a partial eclipse. Thanks for sharing your trip. It’s always fun to see what you’re up to.😊
I got to see the full eclipse in 2017. It's wild! Even on the East Coast this one was visible enough to darken everything a bit. When my roommate came home from work, I pointed out the window and Said, "THE SUN IS DOING THE THING."
The eclipse was amazing and eerie, the birds went almost silent during totality! It was an incredible experience!!! The planets are actually venus, juptier, mars, and saturn! I only saw 3 of them, I know venus was 100% there though! I actually have never gone to a Buc'ees but it seems fun! Hope I can go to one and hope you guys had fun!
We had a 93% eclipse here but the difference is insane !! I didnt think totality woukd be that different but your footage shows how much darker and cool totality was
I love that Bass Pro shop in particular. It's so freaking cool!!! you kmow it was originally built because the city wanted a new sports arena/concert venue. that didnt work for very long because as the town grew, they needed something bigger. then a church rented it out for a few years. that's really hard to picture. I've never been but watched a doc/UA-cam video about it and it looks amazing!!! 🥰 *you told the story just as I was done typing and posted this comment. 🤣
I wish I had known you were gong to the pyramid! Would have been glad to show you around. I worked downtown Memphis while they built it and have been around during all its permutations. And we're supposed to get a Buccee's here too.

The top of the pyramid is pretty awesome!! I’ve been up there a couple of times.. before it was bass pro shop the pyramid was a place for concerts and things.. pretty cool y’all got to see that!!
Honestly the fact we're able to have a full solar eclipse at all is astonishing. thats such an awesome coincidence. I mean, think about it. Aw man, you were just 30 miles from me during the eclipse! Also, at Steak N Shake... I recommend using the seasoned salt provided at the table on the fries, and try to eat them before they can get cold. :) It helps a bit
We went to Mexico for the eclipse. I had been profoundly in awe during 2017 so I 'knew' what to expect. This was even better. I'm so glad you got to experience it. My profile pic is what I took during totality. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Happy upcoming birthdays to you both. (Emily, I think you've had yours already.) Mine is following Ed's (add your ages together and you will come close to mine.) I hope your days were all you wished for.
aww I got to experience my first full eclipse with you guys in the same state, that's so cool! It was such a really cool experience. And honestly I wasn't really hyped up about it at first but was going to go out and view it with my kiddo anyway. But it was truly wild- the way it became literally night during the day and you could feel the temperature drop as the sun was blocked. It made me very small in a vast universe in the best sort of way.
also- I don't like the thin fries but my son loves them. I LOVE Steak n' Shake onion rings though, very good! The best thing they used to have on the menu (for someone like myself who isn't big on hamburgers) was their spicy chicken sandwich. It had a great crusty outside and a great red spice seasoning inside the crust on the chicken. Buuut they no longer sell that, RIP
My husband and I had the BEST night ever staying at the Bass Pro Shop's Big Cypress Lodge. i could have sat on the back "porch" watching the Sturgeon and Alligators forever! t was SO much freaking fun! One of the most amazing nights we've had! Highly recommend staying there while touring Memphis!
Coming from New Zealand, I have seen pictures of the outside of the Bass Pro Shop Pyramid but never seen inside, it is soooooo awesome. thanks for showing us!

I have a bearded dragon named wizard :D
i used to have a male bearded dragon named 'tulip' he died... but he was awesome
I love these pet updates!!! Congrats on your great pet and thank you for adopting. Super admirable!!!!
Emily and Ed,
Lilly and I are also glad that we didn’t get “Raptured” during the eclipse and we are able to continue our Snake Discovery education. Glad y’all had fun and we look forward to seeing what’s next. Thank you for everything!
Lol. Raptured
I thought it was funny when Emily was talking about her strong juice and saying she is glad Ed is driving and there is a police car right behind her.
I rewatched that part several times looking for the police car and can't find it.
@@_Fizel_ at 14:13 the dark colored car behind the brick pillar thats behind the white car thats behind emily, looks like it says "police"
My girlfriend and I drove about 9 hours to just outside of Dallas so we could see the eclipse in totality! Super cool to see in person!
I forgot to say in this comment, but I got to go to Buc-ees for the first time!! I was so excited! I wear the sleep pants I got from there all the time, they’re so comfy
I adopted Crawl at the Dallas NARBC. She’s doing great and she’s absolutely adorable! It was so amazing getting to meet you😊❤

Agreed. I really thought it was going to be anticlimactic like the partial eclipse but it was so much more amazing than I thought it was going to be.
100% true. I can never express in words or show how it felt to me. Like looking at the sun, theirs something wrong to it.
@silkthecatmoth Only around the edges. It was an unreal experience. Did you get to see it?
I traveled about 5 hours to see the full eclipse. It was incredible to see the "sunset" encompassing the entire horizon, plus listening to the frogs chirping and getting literal chills from how fast the temperature dropped. Then just looking to the sky and seeing this perfect black circle and a silver ring around it. It's an experience unlike any other here on earth.
@silkthecatmothwhen the moon doesn’t quite block the entire sun, it’s a different kind of eclipse
Im kinda amazed that Piff let you play reverse jenga on his head for that long...
Yeah, I was able to adopt him and he’s definitely very chill. Even when he first got home he didn’t even seem scared
I'm not! Dragons are very chill. 😎 Ours is called Bobby, and we ❤him! Congratulations on adopting Bingo. We got Bobby as an adult too.
We gathered as that day was my late Mother's birthday. So we celebrated her life and shared stories and memories. It was definitely a magical moment.
that's incredible. the moon and sun both wanted to wish her happy birthday :)
On my way!
Ooooooo

Best way to eat SteaknShake fries is with their Steak Fry seasoning and dipped in cheese sauce 10/10!!
💯!! Raises the yumm factor to a 10/10!!
FACTS! Was so sad she didn't have the cheese at least lol
The best way to eat Steak n Shake fries is to dip them in the shakes. But cheese sauce is valid. Plain is the worst.
Or dipped in the milkshake!! Their fries are pretty bland without one of the two.
They don’t have them here in Memphis anymore 😫 The pandemic killed it
Oh my god, I am amost positive I was at that park in IN for that eclipse. I was visiting my sister. I had no idea you guys were there.
