QUIZFILTER I will never go back to Disney World for throwing in shameless movie references and giving into SJW censorship. This ride was one of the coolest memories of my childhood, but unfortunately the Disney of today couldn't care less for the original Imagineer's creation.
@@southparkboyproductions6040 no the 2 different versions are both cool & like I said, the movies kick ass, but the old-school ride version has it's own charm.
I went on the ride when I went to Disney World when I was 9 years old in October 2005 (right before they added the movie references). I loved the ride but I remember being upset and confused as to why there was no Jack Sparrow. I remember the gift shop was LOADED with movie memorabilia and toys. I can only imagine a lot of other kids felt the same way too. The movies were Disney’s biggest blockbuster films at the time so it’s understandable why they made the changes they did. Now that the original movies are over a decade old and the hype isn’t as big it looks like Disney is trying to get it back to somewhat it’s original origins (they removed Davey Jones and added the original 1967 ghost voice).
Nice job editing! This isn't the old-old ride, though... In the early '90s, they changed a few things to make it more "politically correct." The pirates chasing the women with the food and drink -- originally the women weren't holding anything in their hands. The pirates were just chasing them for, well, "romantic" reasons. Which was the setup for the big joke at the end -- the fat woman chasing the pirate. Some nitpickers thought it was glorifying sexual assault, so Disney changed it.
Interesting video on the "vintage" take of the classic ride. I really enjoyed the sepia/b&w/8mm shots. And I don't need to mention that the reason I found this was because, I typed in "no johnny depp P of the C ride". :p
johnney depp was never in the old pirates of the carribean. and it used to pause before the skeleton head drop.... now it's just stupid that they re did everything.
I LOVE this so much better. The new version with the black lights ruins it. Forget where is Waldo...it's where's Johnny Depp. They also ruined the Haunted Mansion with all of the black lights. So sad. I won't be going back. :(
If I had the money to build a replica of the original ride - I'd do it in a heartbeat. Hell, all the original dark rides, if I could. lol I don't think they could do anything about it if it was private. Oh well. At least we got to enjoy real America before it all got nerfed by Big Mother.
What a way to ruin the magic of the scenery which was based on the pirate era. Now a days everybody gets so offended sad to see where society is heading. It's an attraction people it's not real. If you're so offended don't go on it don't ruin it for people who enjoy it.
@@ReluctantWarrior I don't think the ride with talking skulls is going for historical accuracy. I'm not saying I'm for the changes either. It's an issue I don't care for one way or the other cause the old generation always clashes with the new generation. But I disagree when people say the new PC elements suck because they're not "historically accurate". It's Disneyland. Not a museum.
Alex Esparza It's not. Updating the special effects isn't the issue, changing the ride for movie references and censorship is blasphemous to this wonderful attraction.
The original version! I love the movies, but they should've kept this ride in classic mode... it was fun & perfect just as it was!

Buzz-Duh The original was Walt Disney’s vision. Should of been kept that way.
If so, they never shouldn’t have made the movie

I love Pirates of the Caribbean!
Old version was better!
Haha! Well, I just thank you for uploading this. It made my day. ;)
johnney depp was never in the old pirates of the carribean. and it used to pause before the skeleton head drop.... now it's just stupid that they re did everything.
i love that ride !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember that!
Haha they are like where be the village treasure, but now it's where be captain jack sparrow with the treasure
What album did you get the ride soundtracks from?
It was not from a album I got the track and a lot others from a CD I bought on youtube, If you want A copy message me and I can hook you up.

is the ride shorter or longer in 2001-2004?
Don't link the new one either, This was filmed in early 2004. I do have the new one but I may not upload, It sucks
When I was a kid I wanted to be actually in the ride among the robot pirates. ok.... fine I still do now as a adult. Tho it would be a little creepy

Jajaja I can't belive that I live 15 mins away from Disney
Too bad they messed this ride up. I.kissed the original version but I guess it is a kid ride after all 🤣
The old version said dead men tell no tales and the new movie is dead men tell no tales omg!
Little Pirate16 Yeah lol they based the movies off the ride
They also changed the man chasing the woman now the woman is chasing the man
apparently Disney is getting rid of the Bride auction of the ride. I guess feminist complained.
They should have asked said feminist if they even looked into the history.

I won't be surprised if they get so offended at history they demand they change the textbooks 🤣🤣🤣
OMG this is super old but the new one seems better
