We have IP20 rated Off grid inverters that run smoothly for more than 3 years. It all depends on installation practices and regular maintenance. But, we also urge customers to go for IP67 Rated inverters since they are more adequate to Sri Lankan environmental conditions. 😊
The PV Array capacity should be 10% more than the rated power of the inverter. Say, the inverter power is 5kW. Then the PV Array capacity should be at least 5.5 kW. If we use 560W PV panels, we have to use 10 of them. Then the total PV Array capacity would be 5.6 kW. Likewise, you can appaly this basic thumb rule to almost all the residential systems. Anyway, these are not hard and fast rules. Just regulatory requirements. Thank you sir.

No there is no such time limitation when it comes to Domestic systems. But the situation is different in Time Of Use tariff.
