Love these vlogs and the quick build clips. Great stuff. You're one of the few youtube masters who cause me to stop whatever I'm doing and watch whenever the latest upload posts. Thanks!
Why Jimmy's vlogs are better than Casey Neistat's: Jimmy doesn't look gay Jimmy doesn't act gay Jimmy doesn't look like a piano was dropped on his face
at first i was a bit sceptical about the vlog idea but i am really digging it! a bit of talking/ explaining, a bit of touring, and mini builds all rolled into one! as usual great stuff!
hey Jimmy.. I'm always fascinated by your builds an as always looking for new ones.. I myself live in upstate NY Albany area, always shopping at Albany steel.. great vid keep them coming!!!
I love Albany Steel, I used to just buy drops, but a buddy of mine bought everything he needed to put together an offroad trailer, and I let him use my welder and helped him with the process of building it.
I like the way you weaved that rope. I like the boxes too. Something I do with mine is number the boxes and use Evernote to inventory the contents of each box. Then when I need something, I search Evernote and it tells me which box its in. It's a hassle to get used to, but once you're in the habit you save a lot of time searching for stuff.
thanks for another great video. It help to get the creative ideas flowing. Can't wait for another video and your plasma table setup. Rock on bud, much love from your friends up north. P.S. love the podcast
Dig a hole and place the mousetrap into the ground, so it's level with the surface. Bait it with peanut butter. Mice go nuts for a bit of the ol' nutter butter.
Kudos for burning the midnight oil! Just wanted to send you my thanks for the inspiration you've planted! It has pushed me over the edge and got me making again! hopefully I'll be able to show some projects soon! Any how greetings from Germany and get some sleep!!
Jimmy never dull ... Always interesting / educational ......... I'm getting closer to actually appearing on my channel videos.... Stay safe / well ,,,,,,, also glad to see Spike ........ Keep up the really great work....
Look at the density of likes. Your like/view ratio is over 10%. That's awesome. Absolutely love every one of these. By far your channel is the only one that I absolutely love everything uploaded. That's really awesome. Thank you for the awesome content, as always.
Chicken coop idea, dig out 6in to a foot put down a layer of metal screen( not chicken wire as the rats will bend it) make sure to over lap an put it up the sides, cover with the dirt and pack it down. Also, I'm sure you know, keep the feed in a steel can... Hope that helps, I know it's a lot of work but I think it'll be worth it. Thanks for all the great videos!
Marc Schaefermeyer I was actually replying to your comment, but for some reason it didn't tag you. You wrote "Glad I'm not alone!" and I was saying you're definitely not alone, because I could watch a Diresta video at least daily.
Awesome Video as always Jimmy. It would be sweet if you and Mike Rowe did a video together about his foundation and all of the different charity/teaching work you have done. I think a lot of people would like to see that.
Hey Jimmy love the wall with post-its and all the ideas Also we all got a note book or pads where all our ideas come into play Share and talk a bit about them Not enough time sometimes to do them all I know theirs alot of ideas that will be lost forever from the old timers IDEA if u got any post its from prev builds Sign and date them theyd be cool
Mouse trap: Stick a ring of peanut butter around the inside of a 5 gallon pail, a few inches from the top. Put a couple gallons of water in the pail and something as a ramp for the mice to climb up the side. They'll climb up to get the peanut butter and fall in the water when they can't quite reach it. You'll catch more mice than you can believe with this trap. We've been using them for decades in our barns.
best rodent repellent is a simple harmless snake in an aquarium with a fine weighted mesh on top of the aquarium. rodents spell the snake, and leave! awesome videos!!
Jimmy I dont think you understand how important it is that you personally talked to us in your video. It gets all the viewers to have a bondage to your videos
Looks like another great productive week. I don't know how I missed seeing when the Rochester Maker Faire, I won't be able to make it. Will be at the 100th episode Making It podcast though.
on the mouse trap, we use a bucket like that and put a tin can on some rebar or dowel and place it over the top...it must be able to spin. coat the can with peanut butter and put a ramp up to the bucket. fill the bottom with some water and lyme. they'll go for it even with other food around.
Nice to see these companies finally giving you your due. I guess 800k was the magic number? The makermecca is going to be one well equipped facility, that's for sure. All the best, brother. Take care
Love it, Jimmy. Check out John Randall at Bien Hecho. The cat works entirely in reclaimed wood. Super high end stuff. Would be amazing for you guys to collaborate. He's got a school, too. All the best.
There's a channel called make technology that has about 8 of your videos as its only content, I didn't think you had any affiliation with them, thought you'd like to know. To the real Jimmy Diresta, thank you for all your inspiring videos!
Really enjoy your videos. Very Inspiring. Two quick questions: 1.) Where did you go to school? 2.) How do you set your prices? I still struggle with this one.
Mouse trap! Find a big tote or tub with high walls on the sides and fill it with a couple inches of water, find something to make a raised platform and place the feed sack on top above the water, kinda like a moat. All the mice will be swimming around inside the water or in the feed sack. Catch them when you feed the chickens and relocate or whatever you choose to do with them. I use them for trapping fur. Only do this for a cpl days to keep feed from getting damp. Should catch them pretty quickly.
Jimmy you could make a roof with some trusses inbetween those containers, seem like a cool proyect. Maybe you already had that idea, as they are separated and parallel to each other.
keep up the vlogs jimmy. They are real interesting. yes you arnt killing time in an airport every other day... which is boring btw. seeing the industrial background is cool. here in the uk it is hard to find local suppliers that offer the range of raw materials that you guys see. unless im not looking hard enough.
Always like starting my day before watching your video. There's something relaxing about it. Do you ever come out to the PNW? Would love to say hi from Washington state. Keep up the great work! We need more Spike in video's too
I'm a simple man: I see heavy metal, i press like
Another great one! I loved the dog and cat stopping for a "what are you looking at" moment.
Love these vlogs and the quick build clips. Great stuff. You're one of the few youtube masters who cause me to stop whatever I'm doing and watch whenever the latest upload posts. Thanks!
Catching killies in Jamaica Bay down in Inwood... Always a summer past time when I was a kid... Thanks for the memory!
Why Jimmy's vlogs are better than Casey Neistat's:
Jimmy doesn't look gay
Jimmy doesn't act gay
Jimmy doesn't look like a piano was dropped on his face
IKR!
Lol it's so true
LMAO
Seth lol pretty superficial
Seth lol easily the most annoying person on YT
Great video man! This volg/upadate dialogue is a really cool way of seeing your work and knowing where you are with regard to projects. Appreciate it!

I thought this was going to be Jimmy headbanging to some black metal. :-)
Maybe when Waelder visits.
Super clever idea to indicate the boxes for stacking. You always amaze, thanks.
at first i was a bit sceptical about the vlog idea but i am really digging it! a bit of talking/ explaining, a bit of touring, and mini builds all rolled into one! as usual great stuff!
I like your format for these videos.

I love Albany Steel, I used to just buy drops, but a buddy of mine bought everything he needed to put together an offroad trailer, and I let him use my welder and helped him with the process of building it.

Definitely not. In fact, if Jimmy did these daily I'd still want more!
Sooner Keith Gib was talking about the fact that Jimmy released a video last night and the this one really early this morning.
Marc Schaefermeyer I was actually replying to your comment, but for some reason it didn't tag you. You wrote "Glad I'm not alone!" and I was saying you're definitely not alone, because I could watch a Diresta video at least daily.
Sooner Keith My bad! Yes I agree to the all day!
I grew up in Rochester - great town and enjoy!!
Love your work and love the way you love your pets!!!
It's cool when you live near the place he's talking about, I worked about a mile down the Road from Albany Steel in Menands, NY.
Awesome Video as always Jimmy. It would be sweet if you and Mike Rowe did a video together about his foundation and all of the different charity/teaching work you have done. I think a lot of people would like to see that.

I'm glad you're a teacher so you can inspire new generations. You're the man,
You have to like Goby. I'm from the PDX area and always enjoy looking around that place.

Why is it every time I stay up watching UA-cam I end up watching like 40 min of Jimmy's videos.
The fact that he said "it was a gift" with that New Yorker accent was oddly pleasing
I loved the mailbag videos!
Another project idea: your animals need Diresta branded shirts/sweaters.
Ahhhhh, feel better after my fresh Jimmy fix 😙
Jimmy you could make a roof with some trusses inbetween those containers, seem like a cool proyect. Maybe you already had that idea, as they are separated and parallel to each other.
I would kill for a steel shop like that in my town.
love the vlogs Jimmy, keep it up :-)
