I love her writing
Great interview Guys.
I love her so much!
Sometimes i don’t know if press tours these days hurt or help books. Sometimes I just wish no one would say much of anything, except I hope you like the direction/vision we have and here it is, judge for yourself; but I think this interview was really good. I believe it helps to clear some things up that people have concerns with. There are those that will cherry pick and hyper focus on a few statements, but that’s the internet.
Thanks Matt, I think the boys did well on the interview. Kelly has done a lot of press for the book and they touched on some areas not explored so much elsewhere.
I think specifically it was important to be clear on the intent behind the Jinx / Scarlett relationship as there was room for the reader to interpret another way and come to the wrong conclusion.
Love to see the Chief Dog back in the chair!
Always good to have Chief back and step in to support Tim in my absence. Chief had told me that Scarlett was his favourite EU title so far so I hoped he'd get a kick out of this interview.
@@talkingjoecomics Glad to see he's still reading Joe. Although I'm guessing maybe the continued ARAH isn't to his liking.
@Bleak5170 he has thoughts and opinions, and mostly not especially positive! But chief likes to be a bit contrary
I’m now legit worried about the direction. If the creative team thinks of the core audience as “man babies” the success wont last long.
I'm pretty sure the tongue in cheek usage by Chief was to describe the people who get upset and direct their vitriol at creators as nasty personal attacks rather than any general fandom.
@@talkingjoecomicsI hope so. Kelly used the term too. And my impression was the term came natural to her. Skybound seems to have a good thing here and I’d hate to see a repeat of what happened at IDW.
@hugovidaurri8837 I think she was being a good sport and mirroring back the language previously used. It was definitely intended to try and be a light hearted moment.
Referring to certain fans as man babies. Great way to gain the trust of fans who are protective of their favorite franchises is to call them names. I guess inclusion is only for certain fans who think the right way.
Where’s the time stamp on that exactly?
Really that comment was a light hearted comment to note out that certain elements of fandom can often behave in a nasty way that goes beyond objective criticism which can be hurtful towards creators, and Kelly played along in a jokey way.
@@talkingjoecomics Not hardly. This book is definitely at the bottom of everything else that has been written for The Energon Universe. I'm wondering in what issue she's going to point out that Scarlett and Jinx are/were lesbians?
@Skriot The opposite- Kelly has gone on record including in this very interview to clarify that Jinx and Scarlety are close friends (like sisters) and not lesbians.
