The jersey sales for Clark USA jersey would of been crazy! And yes, Caitlin Clark is popular in another country! Any famous american is always idolized in other countries! No other female wnba player has ever been this famous.

*Rookies on olympic teams: Rebecca Lobo in 1996, Diana Taurasi in 2004, Candace Parker in 2008 and Breanna Stewart in 2016 (the latter 3 all #1 draft picks BTW). You cant say Caitlyn Clark is wet behind the ears or she's too new. CC has outscored all those girls in college, and she's more popular than all of them too.
*The narrative is that the women basketball team want "proven", "experienced" players who have played with each other before. And they want women that have had time to practice in the olympic training camps. The narrative doesn't stand knowing that they have broke that rule for those 3 but not CC. Stat wise she is as good as they were when they were rookies, just much more assist per game than any of them in their first 12 games. The point is she needs to be on the team, no matter if she's riding the bench, getting 1 minute or getting 1111 minutes a game. Their narrative just doesn't hold up and seems to hide ulterior motives.
Women keep talking about they want more money and visibility and when the time comes for them to make more money and ACTUALLY be seen by the world RIGHT NOW, they say NO THANKS! LMAO

Watch Rich Eisen show Christie Brennan said Media in NZ, London are waiting for her she is popular there. Pat Summit needs her 8th Olympic Medal. She has done the most for Women's Sports. The Olympics occur every 4 years for the Leap Years. They also do not check her FIBA countries.

That's why Breanna Stewart made it her rookie year. Based on statistics, CC is better than either of them were at the same point in their career. Period. Done.
People aren't focused on who's gonna play in 4 years. They care about if CC is gonna be on the team right now. It's crazy how these 2 don't wanna accept that reality and keep making up dumb different reasons why CC shouldn't be on the team.
There is a 42 year old on the team. She can't be one of the best players anymore. It will be her sixth Olympics. They are not being honest with themselves. Also they usually take the top college player every 4 years for the team because they think it will be popular. There's no real danger of them losing the gold - it's never even close.
It was a mistake leaving Shaq off the Dream team in favor of Christian Laetner. Leaving clark off the team is an even bigger mistake

Betcha Paige would’ve made it if she had been #1 this year. She’s UConn, Stewie and DT are too and also went as rookies. They absolutely would’ve kept up that tradition with her and you are lying to yourself if you say otherwise. And that right there is the problem. Caitlin is another Candace.
