That's a really good topic for a video. A bit different to other vanlife youtubers :) I'm quite competative and play lots of games online so if we are away for an extended time it'll be a challenge. My otherhalf hates competion :( I've insisted on cards in the van, and we've been trying different board games that will fit on the table. He's taken up piano and thanks to @lottie2525 we'll look into a folding keyboard. We also like cycling and can squeeze 2 x folding ebikes in the back of the van. And when it rains a projector and pulldown screen sorts that out. If we travel more I hope I'll be too knackered in the evenings from all the walking and cycling to worry about TV.

Yeah it’s all about finding a balance with interests and hobbies. We’re fortunate to like similar things. But I’ve been of surfing for hours and Kez has here hobbies. Love the folding keyboard. Wonder if we could fit one in our van 🤞. You’ve got to love being outside and to end the day with a movie on the projector sounds awesome 🙌
Great tips, as always. My fave non-powered travelling pastimes would be reading (proper books), puzzles (if you have a big enough table), board games (Settlers of Cataan and Dominion are faves), I've just taken up wire-weaving jewellery, and believe it or not piano (you can get fold up portable tabletop keyboards). My fave outdoor activities are geocaching and photography.

It’s something I’ll be touching on in one of my videos on in the next few weeks but I believe being away from electricity can make you feel healthier. I have several chronic illnesses and disability and when we go away in it can, we tend to run in bare minimum electric, other than charging my wheelchair. I come home feeling better than when we go. It’s not stress, or daily pressures for her. I honestly believe electric radiation, WiFi, and pollution make a huge difference so reading a book in a van rather than sitting at home watching TV is probably beneficial. Good vid x
I think that's why we love the New Forest at the moment. A lot of the time signal can disappear and that is not always a bad thing. We just head off into nature. There are some reports we've read about Forest Bathing and we definitely feel more relaxed after spending time in nature, forests and being surrounded by trees. We always feel the air seems clearer to breath when we are in nature. Scotlands air in the Highlands is so clean and clear. @@TristandKez Scotland is a place I so want to explore I think we head up to Edinburgh next year but hoping to visit a wild place or two in the South too. Would love to fully dive into van living, once we have less commitment and a bigger van. That will be a few years yet but hoping to build UA-cam up to a respectable level for some type of sustenance so we can break free from the working life. I was a paranormal upriver before but left the channel for so long it’s messed the algorithms up. It’s a case of either keeping or starting completely again. Totally unsure at the no 🤷🏻♀️

We choose full-time so we could do more of our outside hobbies - mountain biking, hiking, paddleboarding etc As for the evening times, playing board games and at least one night out per week to stay in touch with ' real people' - plus there's always you tube to watch other vanlifers - although should we be watching house dwellers😂 Never get board tbf, but a bit of a shock when the clocks go back 😮

@@TristandKez I’m getting into editing slowly but surely. At least it’s not as painful as a few months ago (we are a pretty new channel) and having to basically learn via UA-cam tutorials 😆
The more you do the easier it becomes. Not that I’m an expert lol. I learnt a lot from UA-cam too. Funny to think I used to do a bit of basic editing back in the day before UA-cam with an old phone camera. Wish I knew where the footage was 🤣😂
Yes Kes , I am the same too I have a Kindle but prefer a real book. Have you thought of using Vinted to buy books and to sell them as there are plenty place to drop off and collect.
We haven't looked at Vinted for books, so will defo check it out. There are so many of these book swaps dotted around and a lot of campsites have book exchanges too. So far Kez has had loads to read on the road. Which is good as she goes through a book in next to no time 🤗
@@TristandKez sounds like me! No Vinted is really cheap for books, yes you may have to wait a few days but it is worth it plus it is doing your bit for the environment.

We use CapCut at the moment. Pretty easy to get in with. I say that, but I went from premiere pro to CapCut 😂. Any other questions on editing software just let me know 🤙

Hi both. Where do you store the surfboard? We’ve currently got 2 bodyboards and they’re bad enough. Haven’t seen a roof rack on Gertie.

It’s a tricky one if you can attach it outside. They’re not the smallest item to carry around. Especially, if like us you’re not surfing all the time.

The only books we have are in the Van 🤗
